@@parispierre10 I think it's amazing and fun to drive but after awhile you may get bored with the lackluster speed, and I'm thinking of trading it in for a Type R
Yeah majority of the people who hate either never drove one or still just think the 9th gen is superior in handling when companies have proved this 10th gen is better then the accord 2.0t on track and older si models period.
I have a 2017 civic si I f***ing love it. I love driving it so so much that I’ve gotten into a bad habit during the shutdowns of 2020/2021 of going for long drives out to the coast almost daily to escape the anxiety from being stuck at home. I think today instead I’ll have a joint put on some headphones and watch this Thank you!
Don't get me wrong this car has rev hang for sure, but I've adjusted to it in my 2019. It's actually helpful for driving the car in a relaxed manner, and once you're in the flow of shifting quickly you don't notice it. Just don't rev the engine freely because you'll cringe at how slowly the revs fall 🙃
I've been in the market for a 2018 Honda Civic si and was wondering what type of fuel you put in it. I know the owner's manual states that the car should receive premium, but can it take regular? Furthermore, I think the car has a knock sensor that changes the ignition timing caused by the difference in the fuel quality. Still, I would like to eliminate knocking altogether to preserve the engine.
Logitech shifter, hilarious rev hang, wimply 1.5L out of a vacuum cleaner, and no VTEC to top it all off. Honda, what are you doing? I'd put this junk on hiatus, too! 😂
Hope this comment turns into an interesting discussion because it seems a lot of people love this generation of the Si despite all the cons and I want to know why.
@@frshkidg Because ktuner. Use ktuner and without any mods you can get rid of the rev hang and add power and flatten the torque curve a bit. Add intake and down pipes and you can get a serious boost in power. It also has dual tune options for when you want to just cruise and when you want full power. The dual tune switches when you press the eco button. The interior is also very very nice and it drives excellent. The grip is good and it's very drivable. Some cars are fast but are so unpleasant and have so many quirks it's frustrating and a compromise. The only compromise to this is... You don't get to go super fast so you don't get tickets and that's very livable.
Wow I’m surprised how the civic si launches and pulls. It’s launch is more smoother than the type r and in the civic si there’s no first gear grind as in the type r. Also the way the civic si pulls after 60 mph and it performs like a type r and also it grips in the corners perfectly like the type r. 👍🏼

I hope I'm wrong and that's just the audio, but that engine doesn't seem to have a good sound, sounds actually bad. Well nothing that some exhaust cutouts can't fix. I hope.
What you hear is the fake engine sound that Honda put through the speakers. There is a microphone near the engine and the computer alters the sound and pushes it through the speakers to make it sound more "sporty". I do believe that the dealership can turn it off.
I want to like this car but I can't get over the stupid fake noise that should be a menu option to disable and the rev hang. FFS Honda, either make it a manual with auto rev match, or put in the CVT. The rev hang is garbage. I don't want to buy a new car then have to fix half the features.
