Keep an eye on those MTC fuel pumps, I had two fail on me with the ethanol laced fuel leaking out the sides. I ended up getting a Pierburg and it hasn't leaked yet
Good to know. I just ordered what was available along with something else I was already ordering. I was kinda thinking of going back and replacing the failed parts in the old one with updated rubber and keep it as a spare. Worth doing, you think?
@@MakeitOnce Since it is likely rebuildable I'd say yes. Oddly one of the makers for the fuel pumps Volvo in this era was SWF, which I was more used to associating with electrical components. I think the brand still exists today but I don't know for sure.
It'll be interesting to find out why your valve train isn't getting oil. I wonder if the rocker tube is clogged or if it is below the #3 pier where the oil is pumped up to the rockers?
IT was clogged with engine butter (fuel/oil froth) New oil is working through it, and valve train and cylinders have oil now, so I think I am good. I'll check back on this before driving it more than around the block. Could be bad if anything is still clogged.
Don't forget to floss after brushing! 😉
