The twin sounded like it had a blanket over the grill cloth compared to the deluxe, but you'd probably have to turn the twin way up in volume to get it to start blooming. Still, very surprising. Thanks!
That’s for sure! The twin always sounds best when it’s just about cutting you in half!😂 The TH-cam compression really doesn’t do either amp justice but there was some really interesting nuance in the comparison around 2:05 which was probably far more pronounced in reality? Cool video nonetheless!👍
I was going for the Deluxe Reverb. I visited my go to music store online to order and saw that they had a Twin Reverb demo for only $100 more. I went with the twin. By keeping the volume knob at 5 or above and using the output power switch in the back to get the volume at the proper listening level for whatever venue I am at, I think it sounds just as crispy as the deluxe. I also love having the extra "middle" tone control. I'm super happy with this amp. Not to mention the fact that it is a breeze to carry. 👍
thanks for the comment. It's difficult to capture the sound and then play it online in a compressed format. However the twin is also a great amplifier.
Thank you, that about sums up my experience going from a deluxe to a twin and back. Curious how you have things dialed in; do you turn up the mids on the twin reverb to try and compensate. I think a previous commentator was right when he said that if the twin was cranked The differences would not be as apparent.
the twin sounds warmer and boomier than the deluxe,, the deluxe kinda reminds me of a JC-120 but slightly less crisp, its definitely more for blues whereas the twin has versatility
Put a Warehouse Vet 30 in the Deluxe Reverb and remove the bright cap, and your off to the races with a great amp that is also easy to carry into gigs.
You didn’t include carrying them from the parking lot to the gig…..
you're right they are boulders! we would need picks and proteins!

Excellent video! Is the bright switch turned off on the Twin? I didn’t expect the Deluxe to sound brighter than the Twin.
Something is definately off. Twin sounds muffled.
I agree. I expect more bass, but not so much less HF.

The Deluxe blew the Twin out of the water for my purposes.
I’d play either one. If you’d carry it from the station wagon to the stage for me 😂

Yea🤟
Sounds like it was done with an amp modeler and not an actual amp

Somethings wrong with your twin
