As always, you have wonderful and practical tips. Can't tell you how valuable it is to see a real first grade teacher sharing ideas from her actual classroom. Your classroom is also beautiful and I love the natural sunlight that you have. Your students are very lucky to have you and such a warm and lovely learning space.
I woke up with no voice today, sat down to do last minute lesson plans, and this email popped up. Going to use the comparing game as my math activity today. Thank you so much! I learn something from every one of your videos.
Susan, you will never know how much I appreciate you putting these videos out. You are the teaching partner that I need! Thank you for sharing and being an awesome resource for this 1st grade teacher. I love how every week your video aligns with what I am doing in my classroom. You are simply amazing! Please keep sharing!
Yes! I agree 💯 with this comment. She most definitely is the teaching partner I need as well.
I love that you encourage the use of materials. Thanks for your wonderful ideas!
Thank you so much for your videos! I'm a homeschool mom of 5 kids and your videos are so helpful for inspiration on making school fun for my younger kids! I really appreciate your tips!
I am so grateful for all u share!!
Your videos are so helpful! I get more out of you then all the PDs I have to attend! Thank you!
You’re an outstanding teacher 👏really enjoy 👀 your videos
Praiseworthy ❤❤
Thank you so much for you enthusiasm in your videos. I would like to get some ideas for some Literacy center for kinder. I'm new to kinder and I would like to get some suggestions.
Maybe your mom could write you a how-to for sewing. 😂 Thank you for all the great ideas!! Always look forward to your new videos on Sunday.
Hahaha she should!!!
Thank you for your great tips. I will be teaching second grade next year. This particular class did not have the proper foundation in preschool or kindergarten so they are behind in reading and math. I need to know how to start them to speed up those subjects. I watch your videos which are of great help. My class now is an advanced second-grader ( one of my students is doing third-grade Saxon math) but my next group next year can't even read. I will appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!
Love your videos and all your tips! Do you share the slides you use to open up lessons? The ones you share on this video? Thanks!
Those are math warm ups! I added new types with new skills from time to time and I’m currently working on adding sets with those place value additions ones!
You are amazing
Great ideas for math! Thank you. Going to try the chip game this week.
Sidebar Question: How many grades do you input each week? We do 6 or 7.
Hi great resources for parents, what is the name of the screen that you use ?
Can u show me how the kiddos did word chaining on their whiteboards please
Thank you for all the great ideas! Do you have a copy of the place value mat on the Math Club? Thank you for your time and patience!
That is a hard mat that our math coordinator had ordered for us!
Love the CUPS reminders on your slide with the super sentence.......is that anywhere I can get it?
Yes! That’s a free editing checklist I use here: bit.ly/SJTCUPS
Where did you get your white book display ? I really like that. Also were you able to find out where you purchased your writing folders from? Thank again for posting every Sunday. Very helpful.
The bookshelf is an old one I used in my home playroom from Crate and Kids! I still haven’t found the folders- I’m sorry!! I will see if I can find them tomorrow and update this comment if I do!
@@SusanJonesTeaching No worries if you can't trust me I know how busy you are.
Hi Susan! Can you provide the link for your Cat vs Dog opinion writing? Or is it only in your club? Thank you!
That one is on TPT here: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Cats-vs-Dogs-Reading-and-Writing-Unit-2163714
Love the slides! Are these available to go with the units?
Not yet, but this summer I’m adding slides to ALL of my writing units (I’ve been slowing working on them) and my math teaching slides are already in the club! Then I’m going to try to add a bunch of phonics slides as well to go along with the skills!
What do your Friday assessments entail? We read a story in our reading Street book and then there’s a comprehension test at the end of the week along with spelling and phonics tests.
We only do an assessment at the end of each unit! So at the end of our Fundations and Math in Focus units! The Fundations assessment is a dictation assessment with sounds, heart words, words and sentences based on the skills we learned!
