The Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) is an airport project for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur. It is the biggest economical development project currently underway in India in terms of investments.The project aims to exploit the central location of Nagpur and convert the present airport into a major cargo hub with integrated road and rail connectivity.
This project has two parts:
An international airport to act as a cargo hub and
A Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with residential zone covering a total area of 40.25 km² on the southern end of Nagpur.
The Government of Maharashtra formed a special purpose entity named the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) for development of MIHAN. The project is financed by multiple Indian banks with a total loan amount of INR 30,000 crore along with investment from the state government and the Airports Authority of India.With a projected target of serving 14 million passengers and handle 0.87 million tonnes of cargo, this is one of largest aviation project in India. The estimated capital cost of the project is INR 2581 crores (by year 2035) and is supposed to generate revenues INR 5280 crores

Yesterday I was checking Google maps and just got to know that Nagpur's location is central and can act as a link b/w East Asia and middle east and Nagpur will be another Dubai or Singapore, Nagpur should definitely exploit it's Central location.
Dubai and Singapore are developed because they have a costline.

Yeah. MIHAN Project is really great idea, it is helping a lot in development of Nagpur.
But, be careful if someone is thinking to buy private property/land near MIHAN area. Many fraud agencies are selling plots here at affordable prices, but actually all those area are already sold out to some companies or reserved by the government. These fraud dealers show some fake duplicate documents and sell plots, then disappear soon after collecting the money.
Be very careful from such scam.

Nagpur is center City of India.... Ample of space for infrastructure development is also available in Nagpur... Nagpur is safe even in view of earthquake... Flooding...or Even safest place in case of War...So I think Capital should be shifted to Nagpur in view of Safety, Availability of Space...and Connectivity with other corners of our mother India...It's an one time investment...
In 1960'S there was proposal to shift capital from Delhi to Nagpur, unfortunately it was rejected 😢😢
The project is running for more than 15 years I guess .. still as compared to the time taken very very less projects are functioning here. In this time periods it should have been Central India's Biggest project but it's not.
It is so because some political reasons. The Mumbai Pune established political parties don't want Nagpur to be developed as mumbai pune will then slightly lose their importance and people will start migrate to Nagpur. It is proven some days before when union minister Nitin Gadkari pur forward the Multi Modal Station at Ajni .. there was a political unwilling from Mumbai. It this project gets sucessful, it would be the first in india.

Exactly most companies that are operational in MIHAN are IT companies such as INFOSYS & HCL. Recently in JUNE as many as 21 companies have backed out and asking the govt for a Refund. One such major company is PATANJALI.

Nagpur is victim of bad politicians and their politics. All west Maharashtra region leader like pawar and thakrey only developed their area . Most of industrial investment they pushed in their area. That's why equal development doesn't happened in Maharashtra and Nagpur got ignored. MIHAN project was started in 2002 after that nothing happens to that area. Only plan plan and plan. On others side pune becomes automobile and IT hub .
Mihan is biggest flop bfor Nagpur because of madc who is not serious about of Nagpur.

MIHAN is completely failed project. I am looking its development from last 12 years and it is not even 50% developed. Developed Roads are dieing and Patanjali and other has shut down theie manufacturing, Infosys not even much functional here. Also, most of the land are still an open space.
Patanjali couldn't able to start their operation because of uncooperative administration. Assam food park and Nagpur food park shilanyas was done in 2016. Assam park start operation in remote jangal area in 2017 and now India's 2nd biggest food processing park.but in Nagpur Patanjali did not able to start construction till and face many hurdle. I saw Google map road connectivity nearly 500 meter still not reach Patanjali food park. Patanjali will lost nearly 500 crores due to their decision to invest in Nagpur.

The new MVA government unwilling to develop MIHAN as Congress, NCP and ShivSena are mostly western MH centric parties and historically they have biased against Nagpur/Vidarbha, and they are least interested for the development of this region and hence there was always a demand of separate Vidarbha.
This project started around 1996 by Nitinji but later congress government (2001-2014) both in center and state blocked it (land dispute between Indian Air Force and MADC). Later in 2014 then new BJP government both in center and state solved the land dispute within an year and hence in 2015-2019 this project actually witnessed some ground level progress due to BJP. All the companies you mentioned in the video are started only after 2015. Back in 1996, it was the biggest SEZ project of India and if would have executed properly then only, then it would have been game changer for Indian economy, but Congress never had an interest nor will to do any industrial development. Back in 1990s the gap between Nagpur's and Pune's GDP was not that big, but then not sure what happened to then congress they decided to develop only western part of MH while completely starving central and eastern MH. Now again due to MVA they started focusing only western MH for industrialization leaving behind rest of MH. Most of the Nagpurians don't have any hope from this project anymore.

Recently I was in Gujarat's bharuch district on near the sabarmati river, it has 6 SEZs and in the SEZ-2 alone where I was working has a total of 3000 factories in a total area of 500sqkms. These were formed in 2004 by Modi ji on a totally barren land now is a gold mine, Modi ji there is like God, people will declare you currupt if you don't support him... 🇮🇳❤️

Project is allready behind by 15 yrs.. Companies which bought land in MIHAN did not start construction, actually many companies wanted to return the land.I was in Nagpur from 2014 to 2018 and used to live very close to MIHAN. MRO started by AIR INDIA in collaboration with Boeing is not working at full potential, What I could sense was that BJP wants it to move at faster pace, Shri Devendra Fadanvis and Nitin Gadkari made realy good efforts, pursued industries to invest, brought Metro and completed in record time. But now MVA has again stalled it.. Very old project moving at Tortoise speed.
