I'm so confused. I have a 3rd gen ipad pro (USB-C) but there are many different types of playstation backbone. I want one that will recognise my Android phone for initial set up, but will also play my ipad pro using the connections you show here. Which version should I be looking for? Am I right in thinking I can set it up using any android phone first?It would be helpful to know exactly which version backbone you are using, as this seems to be what I'm looking for. Any advice would be so appreciated. Thanks
@@77MyEsha so if your phone is usb c then you will get the backbone that is usb c, you will just select usb c on backbone website then select a color and they both work with iPhone & android using the USB C connector.
I've taken the plunge and bought an Xbox Backbone 2nd Gen for android and iphone with usb-c connection. I don't have nor want a Subscription for Playstation on my console, as I never play onine games, preferring to play games I own by myself. My question is, will I still be able to play remotely on the Backbone without a Playstation Subscription? I will probably pay for the Backbone Sub, because of wanting to use my ipad pro 10" via a lightening cable, but dont want to fork out on extra subs just to play my own games. Can you tell me if this will work withput Subscription to Playstation?
@@77MyEsha whatever games you have on your PlayStation you should be able to play with remote play! Remote play doesn’t require a subscription only PlayStation Plus if you choose to play online with friends other then that it still work work just fine, and the 2nd gen backbone usb c will work with android, iPhone, Apple Store, Google play store, Amazon Luna, Steam and many more just gotta play for backbone yearly subscription but everything else will be fine and if your iPad is usb c then when you connect it to the backbone 2nd you will use usb c to usb c and it will work fine.
On the Version 1 backbone controller you have to remove your case, but with the version 2 you don’t have to remove it, I have the version 1, and but my case I have is by casekoo

It will work with an iPad cause the backbone is a lightening port but you would need a cable that is lightening to lightening for it to work. Thanks appreciate it
Best bet is to get a usb C to lightning adapter. It’s a small piece that connects to your usb C part of the lightning cable and viola, lightning to lightning. Enjoy and keep in mind not to game for long sessions these adapter pieces are not that steady. If you wish you can get the older model of the backbone or check out 8bitdo Bluetooth controllers.
I'm finding its a real.mine field out there trying to track down the rigjt Xbox backbone for my specific needs. Ideally I want an android and iphone one but there seems to be numerous different types out there. I have an iPad Pro 3rd gen usb-C, based on that which should i buy? @@77MyEsha they both are the same, it’s just a color, they both play both games rather it’s Xbox or PlayStation remote play, or games from the google play store, or Steam or any other games you want or iOS using the iPad they both do the same thing and will work.
On my PlayStation we have different accounts for everyone in the family. If we bought both our sons one of these would they both be able to access the PlayStation through the app at the same time? Thanks
Nope not if you are on the PlayStation at the same time, now it could work but will be very laggy and I doubt PlayStation has it unlocked for multiple accounts to play on the same PlayStation it’s lock down to only one at a time, for better performance
I’m not sure but when I go to “play on any screen” it pulls up a screen that says quickly access the PS App and gives me options for no shortcut or open PS App

@@zanieshaharris885 try this close all your apps on your phone then power it off for 45 seconds power back on and connect to the backbone controller to see if that fixes the problem.
Sure here is the steps, connect your phone first to your backbone controller, go through the setup process after it’s all done and activate go to the backbone settings with phone connected, then go to play on any screen select Mac then get your cable plug it to the Mac and backbone controller look at the backbone icon it will start to glow blue then when it does remove your phone from the controller then on your Mac look for a game with controller support and then your ready to go.
Do you have the backbone app updated to the latest software and is your phone updated to the latest software and are you subscribed to the backbone app software

@@Riot4Eternity it worked for me! I had no problem doing it, make sure on the phone it set to play on any screen and select iPad, it does take some try’s to get connected when you see the blue light on the backbone button then you are good too go.

Ok so you got me wayyyyyyyy further than I was able too. Now the issue that im having is that on the screen it says press A for the setup. I do that and nothing happens. I tried all the buttons and unplugging and replugging. Please Help me Bro!

When you are using the backbone it shows what is on your phone while playing but if you are using it on the computer or iPad you just play on any screen or are you trying to do something different
I ended up just going to the Xbox website and playing the game via their cloud service… I didn’t realize you take the phone out of the controller and use your computer to play it via the cloud. I original thought it was just going to screen mirror what was going on with your phone on what ever monitor you are using. To me that would be better because I’m a trucker, and had to use my phone’s personal hotspot to teather my internet to my Mac. That’s a much slower connection than the 5G on my phone That being said it wasn’t bad. A little grainy… but I only have 20g when teathering, but I have unlimited internet when in normal use I play Sniper Elite 5, and the screen is too small to play it on the phone. I had to use reading glasses. I have an AirPad at the house, and I will see if that will be better because it can download the Xbox and Backbone Apps. Mac doesn’t have that app

So I figured it out. If anyone here wants to record their gameplay into the backbone app slide your screen down select and down the screen record button and pick how you want to screen record the gameplay.

Just buy a extra ps5 controller which would be cheaper then back bone had the back bone but felt it was too small for my hands but the Gamesir G8 was perfect cuz its like a full controller on your iPhone

What case do you have on your iPhone? I have been looking for a good Backbone-compatible one so I don’t have to keep removing it.

While using the PS5 with the backbone it just keeps disconnecting me from the backbone

Well the iPhone 15 Pro have usb-c and you can use the backbone with usb-c on there.
