picked up this carrier today. have to say, it has a great build quality to it. I went to the shop looking for an Osprey carrier, but really liked this. very light but sturdy. Had my son in it while walking around the shop, walked up a flight of stairs and both of us were happy out. Can't wait to use it out on a trail now. one thing that comes to mind about all of them, my son is seven months old, and the seat seems rather wide, he seems to need to have a wide spread on the legs. for long walks/hikes just makes me wonder if there would be any long term issues due to some stress/strain on the hips?
Hi, thanks for your comment. The Kelty seat is a little wider than some of the other baby carrier brands but it gives the thighs a bit more support as the cushioning extends beyond the seat area. I would suggest you contact Kelty direct if you have concerns.
How would you compare the quality of this pack vs the Osprey Poco? Also, do you think this one intereferes with the wearer's neck/head more than the Poco (it's taller?)
Osprey (Poco) and Deuter are companies with a long heritage in backpack design and I think this experience shows in their baby backpack designs - but they are usually more expensive than Kelty. Neither should be interfering with your neck but it's tricky to advise without seeing how they are being worn.
Thanks for watching. They are both excellent carriers and in many ways, very similar. You really can't go wrong with either carrier - so I think it comes down to personal preference on smaller features, such as design and colour. Either carrier is a great choice.
Hi there, this carrier can be compressed like the Osprey Poco and Poco Plus and the Deuter carriers. So the stabilising part of the frame that sticks out at the back can be folded in and the "pod" where the baby sits will fold down a bit too. The Kelty is not as compressible as the Poco LT which is unique as it really efficiently compresses down to just 17cm deep.
@@LittleAdventureShop thank you for your reply! Is there much of a difference in size between the deuter ones, the Poco plus and kelty journey elite when compressed down? Was trying to decide between the three for travelling and hiking overseas but was not sure how small and portable each would be for air travel and storage in car trunks etc. The Poco Lt definitely looks the most compact when folded but it looks kind of bulky when unfolded and doesn't look like it has as much padding and comfort especially around the hips. A side by side picture (or even better, a short video clip) comparing the three would be really helpful :)
@@direwuff Hi, you have to compromise really. If you are flying a lot and your walks are not that long then I think the Poco LT is an excellent option. If you want a carrier with more padding and adjustability then you'll want one of the more classic style baby carriers. The truth is none of them really compress down that small, they all take up quite a lot of space and there isn't that much difference between brands. Osprey do have a carrying case for the the Poco and Poco Plus which is an extra accessory you can buy which makes the carriers easier to travel with and store mostly because it keeps all the straps contained. We'll schedule a video on this for the future!
Very well done video, thank you. Purchased the Kelty Signature
Thank you
What are the buckles attached to the sides of the cockpit bar?

Very nice review. Thanks.
Would you recommend this? Or baby comfort from dueter?

Can this fold down or be compressed for storage like the osprey Poco plus/Lt or to some extent the deuter ones?
