Love the videos. I must say I'm not a beginner most of the subjects yet I still find myself watching your beginner videos and still enjoying them. Keep up the good work!
+Razz Moto Thanks mate, we care about the new riders, it's impossible to find good tuition out there that isn't a 3 month course and invloves maths.... oh and money lol !
Yup... Totally agree, the bike has to be safe and sound before any creating can start. Looking forward to following this one. Keep up the great work both off you. ✊
Great job, Delboy! Me & my buddy Nate spent about the same tearing out most of the crap on my dad's 35 year old dirtbike. I'm in the process of turning it into a cafe racer. I'm gonna be slapping the engine back in the frame to get stuff mocked up soon. Wish me luck! Joshua from Tennessee, USA
+Joshua Earp Hey Joshua, thats sounds an awesome build, buddy, turning a dirt bike into a cafe racer... so much potential hah?, Good luck with it and how about some pictures when you're done?.. all the best from Blighty.. Del.
Love the look of the bike without the fairings on it. That engine looks fine all on it's own. Reminds me a lot of my Triumph Speed Four now. Can't wait to see it progress. Cheers! Mike
+Michael Rench Thank you Sir, and thank you for awesome track too... this ain't gonna be a show winning build, gonna keep it lean and dirty lol ... and got some outrageous paintwork planned ... cant wait ! Will catch you soon for a Skype, lots to chat about !
A promising start ... i did the same on the daytona 12 ... flogged the whole lot for 100 quid to a very happy guy in scotland who had dropped his... this then forced me to fabricate all my own stuff.. a few times during tge buikd i wished i hadnt sold tge seat and rear panels but it turned out better without them.. good stuff you two.. off to start recording now..xxx
+springy 2112 Too right brother... be brutal and get shut of it all in one go, then you wont start looking back at the old panels and start trying to convince yourself they'll look ok...lol
And so it begins !! Those gold wheels look even worse with less on the bike to distract you. I liked the shots of the bolts being thrown in the box, that was clever. Thank goodness my tools are locked up, i've got a sudden urge to dismantle stuff lol Cheers.
+Orenchis You're right on the wheels buddy, they wil lbe changing colour during the build for sure .... and got some awesome plans for the paintwork on the tank...!
great video, my neighbour has this exact bike in his garage 6k miles mint condition, and doesn't know how much to sell, sound wasn't too great on this video dell boy
+Paul Bickley Hey Paul, Yeah, what a constructive use of he boring day of the week....ill have to adapt what im looking for as they arent available for a ZX-7...but they come ready to bolt on to yours... not so sure you'll want it though... they proper dirty..!
+Gearjammer Those pliers were genuine B&Q you know lol ... would you believe that twisted wire was the main power feed that went straight to the battery - bless !
+Moonfleet41 You have to laugh hahahahahahahahahah! There, sides duly split. By the way carbon fibre sticky back plastic should be banned by Geneva convention.
Looking like a good project Del/Penny... Have built a couple off streetfighters myself (all wiring done properly, and no tools left behind) ha ha ha. Keep up the good work G.
+Garry G Thanks mate, think we've all done a few over the years haven't we ! Wanna make this one a real minimalist thing with as little stuff on it as possible... what it doesn't need it won't have ! The fun stuff will have to be suspended this weekend as got fork seals to do on it and head stock bearings , but you know how it is, you can't faff about being creative whilst you've got mechanical faults nagging at ya !
+Alex Faulds Cheers Alex, happy with it so far, lots more to cut off and get ride off and determined to get it under 200kgs... wouldn't it be cool if it was as easy to lose weight in real life lol !
have you considered going with a waterless coolant? someting like Evans? If your main concern is shedding weight, a waterless coolant will allow you to get rid of the overflow bottle.
+doug ireland Hi Doug, You read my mind, i had looked at a very smart alloy expansion tank that fits in behind the radiator, but it's even better not to have one at all... thanks for the reminder buddy, great minds think alike aye..!!
+Iron Slim ... I can tell you brother, it is deeply theraputic ! Streetfighters rule... after all, isn't that what a Sportster actually is????!!!! Stripped down, no mess, just an engine and wheels ....!
Under all that junk,it looks like a very good bike.Really quite clean and not to furry.Looks like you have a good base to start from.Should be good Del
+gregg ferns Yeah, it's not a bad bike Gregg, but there are, close up, a few things that aren't right... the fork seals weren't seated right and have been leaking, so that's a job for Sunday... and there's some other repair jobs & the electrics need looking it, but all jobs that can help viewers (we hope lol!), cheers mate, looking forward to getting stuck in !
really excited to see this project progress and that exhaust! youve got all our attention now! ha no pressure ;) sure itll look fantastic!, may be doing a similar thing to my zx9r (99) as had a pretty big accident, fingers crossed engines ok when police decide to give it back :/
Moonfleet41 appreciate it thanks, could have been worse! lucky to be alive soo... a win by all means! exactly, thinking some flat renthals bars only thing im unsure on is the ram air intakes but im sure some reseach will solve it. best of luck to you too, not that you need it aha. is this going to be another rat project?
You've certainly ripped into it buddy, a pair of snap on pliers to 😆🔧lol, I know your not into buying tools you don't need, but I have a set of t-handled sockets, there a god send when stripping bikes, I use them all the time 👍👍, look forward to the next instalment, cheers Stu ✌️
+suzuki750stu Hi Stu, yeah, i like those, i just never get time to get to the tool shop these days, and when i do, i forget what i went in for.. .resally must make lists...lol
+The Transitions Yeah, did you like it, its custom made you know, only two in the whole wide world, and the other one is worn by a Rock Leg end...! Fighterforlife Brother..!! rocknrolla...
Bugger, i thought i was the other person but I'm just a rock bell end! lol Good to see you Brother even if it was only on video! Love to Penstar X RocknRolla
I must say, after watching this video and comparing the bike to the Ducati Monster I did, there's a reason why the japanese bikes are so heavy! There's a bracket for the bracket that holds yet another bracket! A whole different story with the Ducati. Look forward to the next film. I'm telling everyone I know about this. All three of them. My mum and...joking! Good work! :-)
+John Mård Ha ha John,. that made I larf... . yeah, they do like to make brackets aye....but easy to unbolt of cut off, so no bother.. packed all the parts now, (video up later) and ready to carry on with the weight loss... got fork seals and head races to change too....so lots to come... thanks for watching.. Del.
Jesus that's grand start to the bikes diet. It's crazy to think the weight of those polymer fairings add up to as much. Though I guess it pays off in aerodynamics for a track bike. Curious to see what your going to run without an end can, something similar to the welded in baffle on the bandit ? Also curious as to whether you'll be adding a fork brace if your running without a front guard. Anyway looking forward to seeing the progress, it really makes me want to sort a new(second hand) bike out now my insurance has paid out.
+englishandproud11 Hi Mattio, you dont need to brace USD forks, there is NO flex in them, and evne if there was, the mudguard brings no stiffness as its all just soft plastic... the fairing will only give help to the bike over 100mph, and these bikes are more style than performance anyway, otherwise they would have made more effort into weight saving..!
Once I can find the time to watch the longer videos I love them!! (I love all of your videos anyway ;)) but is the second song at 04:56 not "Man and God" by feast of friends, not Utopia?
+Lane Split Not sure buddy, will have to check later as typing at work right now, and cant play it on this computer... ill have a look and make sure.. thanks.. Del;.
I appreciate what you do. I subscribed. I love bikes. This bike wasn't perfect, but its hard to watch it being torn down. I feel it should have been preserved or restored and streetfighters should be built from something less complete. That year zx7 is so pretty.
Hi buddy, I went out shopping to look for many different options, looked at a VFR, but they make an extremely ugly streefighter, even despite the single side rear end... wimpy forks, skinny wheels and a really ugly exhaust... even looked at a Blackbird, but again, too much money... anything decent was too nice to chop up, and anything rough had space ship mileage, this bike had low mileage, the motor is immaculate, not been crashed, so I could recycle all the bodywork and it cost me just a grand... so it was the best option for what I had in mind... can't save them all buddy, but at least all my bodywork got sold off to repair, and resurrect, other ZX7R's in need !
Did you weigh the pliers? I bet that was ballast to keep the rear down, haha. Glad I'm able to watch one of your builds start to finish, looking forward to the next bit. RS.
Just caught up with a load of Delboy's garage video and there awesome, well done you to. I have a load more videos to go through but something sprung to mind. We needs a Delboy Garage play list! Awesome sounds as well as vids.
lol, I meant you should pull together a music playlist. The tunes on the vid are great. I know you mention them in each video, but having a few music playlists would be great!
+Will Service I'm noticing that as we dig deeper in to it mate, underneath the plastics it was way nicer than I thought it would be... and some free rusty B&Q pliers thrown in, what more could I want lol !
Another great vid , good sound track to go with it .You know like you del I'm a trained bus mechanic but I've never stripped a bike . To be honest I love my job but hate working on my car or bike , prefer riding than working on it . You teaching others with your vids is a top thing your doing , nice to see there being taught the right way . Have i missed something but have you still got your aprilia ?
+al2474 Hi mate...i know what you mean, back when i was spending my days down a 40ft long pit, the last thing i wanted to do at weekends was do more on the bike.... but now im driving again, i love the chance to get back on the tools... Had to sell the Aprilia to help fund the garage move, it was a shame, but dead happy with this now, and i can do a lot more to this than i could have to the Ape'... thanks buddy.. take care, Del.
+Bartosz Grzymek Hi Bartosz, not usually needed, and this bike already has a full Micron exhaust with a race can, and a K&N filter... so as it already runs smooth as silk, any future plans for is shouldn';t make any change... it probably already has a Dynojet kit in the carbs to run as well as it does..
Well I have looked at the Transitions website and a few other places and I cant find where to buy their music. It looks like they specialize in live gigs and cover songs. The songs you have put on here are quite good though I would like to get them in MP3 format. Do you have a link to where to buy it? I need to email their contact link as well I suppose :) This build is looking good, catching up on it. I love what you have done with the new front fairing cluster. I finished all the General videos and now watching these. I am thinking of making a "Pod" for the front of my Tiger. Replacing the windscreen with Aluminum and then on the back have a spot to recess the GPS and a few power add ons for USB charging and such. A similar look to the KTM bikes with the big console where the windscreen would normally be. Thinking I will give it a try since it wont take my bike out of commission and it would be a cool learning project. Apply a few things I have learned here. (I never would have thought to try and shape metal until you did the Harley tank fairing on this one. (I said aluminum, I will probably do thin steel since I can weld it.)
Hi Dirk... if you check their website, the Transitions load up their music free to download, so you should be able to download it straight to your computer... drop Karlos a line direct if you have any questions and let them know what you think , am sure they would appreciate the feedback ! Good luck with your project, hope it turns out well !
How did you do all that in 15 minutes? Lol!! You make it look so easy as always. By the way tracks are complete and we are in final mix down.. Year and a half, thanks for the push.
+BlueOnion Hey Ron, so good to hear from you buddy, and glad to hear the tracks are almost ready, it seems like so long ago we started talkig about that, it'll be amazing to hear it all once you're ready...we must talk soon about how you want to promote it, whether we can help of if you have another plan with Reverb etc... Saw your wheel removal video buddy, great to see you getting on right in there, how hard can it be aye?..lol.. take care and keep in touch... Del & Pennster..
It''s looking thinner already Del & the old 'elclectic' tape does some jobs alright. That's exactly how I 'don't' want to do my kill switch. Hah. Cheers mate.
+Alan Bell Hi Alan, did you like that?, it was the main power feed for the whole HID light setup....a 900 volt coil charge, and heavy duty wire, bridged by some earth wire half the size... never thought i would ever see twisted connections like that again...but i guess some people still think its ok..!
+Moonfleet41 I know mate, I think I bought a car from the same person a few years back. hah. It's amazing how some folks think that's a tidy & safe job!! Those HID's pack a whack...
+liam f They are B&Q spec mate...there is no currency small enough to value them by... maybe one Vietnamese dong, but id still need to give you some change..!
+Taffy Fusilier Cheers Taffy, im just a spanner monkey, the real artist will be coming to stay over and do a two day airbrush paint job on the bike... its gonna be killer, and we are so priviledged to have such talented buddies..
hi del, followed alot of your videos and learned alot from caliper rebuilds, forks, slave clutch dont forget chain and sprocket changes and all the servicing, done all theses to my bandit 1200, reason for my comment, has the ebay listing all ready been done? as i would like the exhaust end can? im guess its the standard size 51/52mm ? i would also like help if possible with my bandit running issues
thanks for getting back to me but been busy working fella, just about sick of my bandit 1200 now, like i said before ive gone thought everything with it, the issue i have now its not running right at all, so went out and bought a ultra sonic clean 22l version, took the carbs off got them like brand new, put it all back on run but then had a miss about 3k-4k in the revs, so sync the carbs got that sorted, then played again as when you was in 5th at 30 she would feel like she running out of fuel then she would fly, so went out bought complete carb repair kit, clean the carbs again now its worse then before, set the mixure screws right carbs clean again , had new o rings plus new inlet too real suzuki one they where £120 for 4 plus new bolts , ive spent more than the bike worth, i was wondering if you fancy looking at the bike for your show willing to pay ect please help ive had enough kieren
+kieren leak Hi buddy, sounds like you've done just about everything there is to do and yeah, sometimes they can drive you insane aye?? We've been asked mnay times to take on repair work, but the channel isn't set up for it, and we're note even insured to have other people's bikes on the premises... I know it's not what you want to hear, and maybe you'll think me mean and that we don't care, but honestly, just imagine it, the moment we open the doors to that with 45k subscribers, we wouldn't see daylight for months... the fundmental meaning of our channel is to help you do these things youself, and as you've gone right through the system, by the sounds of it, do you not think it's time to hand it over for some professional diagnostics at a garage? The first they will do is a resistance check on coils, make sure you are getting a healthy spark , check for vac leaks on inlets, etc., and then do a set up on your carberation, followed by a rolling road diagsnostic - all stuff I'm not equipped to do here, even if I wanted to... also have you done a valve clearance check as this can lead to big flat spots if your gaps are closed up and if you're prepared to pay for it, a proper tuning shop will be money well spent, they might suggest some up-grades, but the first thing they will do is check there are no faults and it shouldn't take them long... sorry to disappoint you, and I can see how fed up with it you are, so, again, perhaps it's time to admit defeat and hand it over, there's no dis-honour in bowing out, as many people wouldn't get involved - good luck, Del
+Moonfleet41, thanks for getting back to me, sorry for the slow reply but as you know im a bus driver so been at work for the last 11 days on shifts, i finally fix the bandit 1200, with the miss issue, all it was a faulty coil, how i found out chatting to so another bike, told me to swop the coils over as me girlfriend as a 1997 bandit 600, miss gone and wow the bike puts face on me face now now wheelies no joke off the throttle give me a shock trust me, thanks for all your help, your the reason why i started doing my own bikes, ive learnt so much! thank you, if possible i would like to give something back not sure how ect kieren
+kieren leak Hi Kieran, good to hear from you, im glad you found the problem with the coil, its good to get things fixed up aye... Thank you also so much for the kind comments, im glad we have been able to inspire you in some way, there have been many bikers around the world who have been inspired by what we do here, and have asked if they can donate to the running costs of the garage....so we set up a Patreon account, and you can become a patron of the DBG channel, you can give from just one single $1 donation, or make a monthly pledge if you prefer....here is alink, have a look at it and see if it is what you were thinking of.. www.patreon.com/user?u=2841534&u=2841534&ty=h Thanks again buddy... take care Del.
Hey Del, another great vid :) cheers. I noticed you have your bikes on trickle chargers. Do you even keep your daily hack charging, thinking is this something I should be doing?
+Matt Smith Hi Matt... i ride the General every day, and as my commute is 40 miles, it usually ok, but if i have a long weekend off, and it sits for a few days i bung that on an optimate too... helps the battery live longer..
+Manole Ionut Hi Manole, thats very kind of you sir, not exactly sure what ill do with the bars yet, and Renthals would be the obvious choice i guess, i was planning on drilling the top yoke so they could be just what we need... not sure what size and shape the 754 bars are, but they are worth a try to check for reach and width, as long as you dont need them, and where are you as postage from abroad will be expensive... !
Moonfleet41 I live in uk Del, close to Hull, i can deliver in person:) i just took them off from my gsx750f and put the stock bars on my bike.If you want them posted send me your adress to ionutmnl@gmail.com
+lvcsslacker Going to do the fork seals shortly and will be using some lighter oil on them...and once its all done, itt see how it feels and adjust as needed...
+scottyb120892 Hi Scotty... i wouldnt want to say yes and it not be right.. im going to have almost no light at all, just enough to pass an MOT, so if you have a picture of it maybe, then ill know if it could be usefull... you can send it to moonfleet10@yahoo.co.uk thanks buddy, thats very kind.. Del.
Not hanging around eh Del! I kinda didn't want to see that Ninja anything other than a faired sports but it looks so cool stripped down =) So no end can.. Just going to cut a slash in the link pipe and leave it open??
+TheCrazymook ""I kinda didn't want to see that Ninja anything other than a faired sports but it looks so cool stripped down =)"" Welcome to ythe dark side brother... and no, no slashcut, just a little more thoughtful than that.!
+james scott INtended to list on Ebay on Tuesday, already have interest from a couple of people, but nobody paid yet... if they don't pay by Tuesday, I'll put the listings up - what where you interested in??
+irgendwieanders1 Yep, no worries, mate, The General is alive and well and doing it's daily job of carting my carcass around in all weathers! Perhaps I'll do a little walk round of it soon as the winter has sure taken it's toll on the big fellah!
+irgendwieanders1 Thank you my friend, getting back on to the fighter build this weekend and that's not gonna be a Rat Bike, but certainly will be a lot of Rat Bike and Rat Rod features within it, along with a killer Rat Rod paint job !
Hey del need some info not on the topic of this vid. I'm going to have a look at an 2000 r6 tonight with 31k on the clock anything I should look out for? Anyone with info let me know cheers.
+stevie 1290 All the same things i said in the buyoing video mate, its the same age and miles as this bike, and it should be in good shape as they are a well built bike... look for signs of hidden crash damage, unexplainable new parts, and mismatched keys.(trsck bike)... also, check the consumables, it may be a cheap bike, but if it needs two tyres and a chain and sprockets, you're into £350 before you swing a leg over it... good luck and hope you bag a bargain...Del.
+Moonfleet41 thanks for the fast reply del....I will have a good look over it just wanted to know if there was anything I should pay attention to more I know 2nd can be a problem with the first of the r6's
+james scott Hi James, we've had lots of emails for random bits, somebody even asked for the left hand rail....cant break it up buddy, it'll take months and never get sold....its all going as one job lot, 33 items, all on two huge boxes...we need the space and money for the budget.. lookin at what all this stuff costs in individual sales, you'd pay over £600 for it all easy.. so we wanted £300 for the lot.. got an interested party, but not paid yet, so ill be posting the listing on Wednesday and ill do a link to it in the midweek video..!
+Jack Yates Ok, the only place that hose goes to is the area around your tank filler hole... open the cap and see if there is some oil spilled there for some reason.... and if you can see the drain hole.. then you can squirt some WD40 down it to flush it out... Its still very odd, as the only thing that can come from that hose is fuel...so double check that it actually IS the overflow hose and not the airbox drain hose...????
+Moonfleet41 now you mention it' it could be the air box breather as I remember that video you did in the bandit with that bottle and breather from the engine . Gunna have a look in the air box thanks for you advice
+Jack Yates Ok Jack, then its probably the drain hose mate.. its there to evacuate any resudues from moisture and fule vapour... it stops the airbox filling up with fluid that then chkes the motor as it gets dragged in....the only thing to make sure is that its not blocked.. Good luck buddy.. Del.
No Clocks? really? you guys are allowed to have a street fighter without any.... and they call Australia the lucky country.... also if we cut the frame thats it the bike is history without an engineering certificate stating it is safe.... looking forward to the next video... love the pliers found in there... how funny was that....
+VlogBiker Hi mate...yeah, we do have it kinda easy here...clocks arent an MOT requirement, and at the moment, you can do what ever surgery to a frame you like...but if the MOT guy says it aint safe.. then he wont pass it.. so its just a case of making a good job of it... also its only the seat frame im gonna mess with... and thats not a part of the frame as it bolts on... thanks for watching mate, appreciate the kind support... Del.
Seriously... they insulated the turn signal wires with painter's tape?!? Bush league! EDIT: oh blue electrical tape... still though, no crimping or solder?
+skullbugerie Hi mate, im going to sell the whole light unit, as you can see its a "Demon Eyes, Projector light kit", they are all wired into the headlight pod itself and ready to just swap with your light unit, and once ive reconnected that rediculous twisted connection with a proper terminal, its all ready to just swap with yours in one go... was going to put the whole lot on eBay for £200, plus what ever the postage it mate...! any good..?
Lemme get back to you mate will depenf on how much is left from my injury payout. Im thinking of retro fitting it into my fj1200 i already have one on my bandit 1200 fighter but the bandit isnt finished yet
+skullbugerie Yeah sure thing, it seems the last owner lavished a bit ot money on this bike... the kist are about £210, and a light unit is about another ton if you cna find one..plus then the hours wiring it all in to your pod... so was thinking it abou thw right price... let me know buddy.. .cheers, Del.
+Moonfleet41 price is reasonable mate. its more a case of how much ive got left after ive bought all the paint and goodies for my bandit. a ninja owner will bight ur hand off at that price id think. whats ur ebay name mate ill keep eyes in case any goodies pop up.
I hope Ryan sued the "tin box" idiot until he squeaked and the cops tacked on dangerous or due care for good measure, too many on the roads that seem to have bought their licences in Safeway 😶😶 Only recently subscribed so I'm just starting to catch up on all the vids.
Looks better already! looking forward to seeing what you have in store for this build
Looking like an interesting build. Will be tuning regular for these
I can't wait to see how this looks when it's finished!
This series of videos is going to be lots of fun . Loads to learn no matter what style of bike you ride , keep up the good work.
+Andrew Earl Thanks Andrew, you're very kind, looking forward to getting under way with this, lots of fun potential.. thanks for watching... Del.
Fantastic first vid, can't wait for second vid to be posted.
+Moonfleet41 I totally agree but you know what they say even for us more seasoned riders, "you learn something new everyday."
Absolutely love the tune.
Well taken with The Transitions
Del, looking good so far. It has already got a good look to it. Looking forward to the next instalment.
+ianfjr1300 Thanks Ian.
Del.
+Moonfleet41 You got it!
You may think it was a long video but the whole time I was watching this I didn't want it to end. Amazing, loved it.
As always keep it up.
+bgs4tw Why thank you so much my friend, that's very kind... its a fun project, and we're really enjoying it... take care.. Del.
Nice strip down, Looks like there's plenty more to go! Good work.
+tinks43 Certainly is mate, lots more weight to save yet !
Great start, looking better already!
+Mirius Thanks Dave, good to hear from you mate... hope the Lomax is going well, have you dropped a Rover V8 in it yet..?
Just woke up and I had a delboy video to watch, I hope the rest of the day is as good.
+Richard Neal (Tuxbot) Why thank you kindly Sir, hope you enjoyed it !
+Michael Rench Indeed it does.. but most of that stuff keeps the weather off you as well, if only a dry day biker it is fine.
Nice job bike is looking better now then before. now off to my cave to do some tinkering. 👍
+Rambo5k Good on yer mate, go get stuck in !
Becoming one of my favourite YT channels. Thanks for the content guys, brilliant once again.
+Jay C Thanks Jay.
It already looks a MILLION times better just after one strip down video!!!!!!!!!!!
+Kevin Dunn Thanks Kevin, long way to go, but good to get the bulk of it off!
+Moonfleet41 Brilliant ! Looking forward to it.
I am also fond of budget builds and if it doesn't make it go or stop then it has to go. Really looking forward to watching the progress!!
+Matt Converse Thanks Matt, its not gonna be pretty mate, just practical, and i have sime killer paintwork planned.
great video, my neighbour has this exact bike in his garage 6k miles mint condition, and doesn't know how much to sell, sound wasn't too great on this video dell boy
Loving this build already, Can't wait to see where you go with this! My bikes looking worried already....
+Tom Ainscough Ha ha, go for it Tom, you know you want to..lol
+Moonfleet41 Don't even tempt me! Might have to start saving up for another bike I think!
I did a bit of this to my bandit yesterday.
I think I can do my camshafts myself. just had to finally look at it myself.
What better way to spend a Sunday. Can't wait to see the exhaust idea, may copy it on the Big Z :)
+Paul Bickley Hey Paul, Yeah, what a constructive use of he boring day of the week....ill have to adapt what im looking for as they arent available for a ZX-7...but they come ready to bolt on to yours... not so sure you'll want it though... they proper dirty..!
Cracking video - seeing the strip down is useful. Glad the bike has gone to a good home... pliers in the bodywork lol!
+Simon Liddiard Thanks Simon, lookin forward to getting into it.. and yeah, free pliers, cool..!
Those pliers will fetch a pretty penny on e-bay. Maybe the last owner will want them back. Love the half wit wiring as well.
Great video Del, keep up the good work buddy. Amazing weight loss already, mind blowing what the final bike weight might be.
+Alex Faulds Cheers Alex, happy with it so far, lots more to cut off and get ride off and determined to get it under 200kgs... wouldn't it be cool if it was as easy to lose weight in real life lol !
Excited for the project del! I have a 97 ZX6R F3 that looks this! maybe a zx7r one day! love the old kawasaki's
+Matt Rowley Cheers Matt, looking forward to getting stuck in and making it look dirty... gotta love an old hairty chested Kawasaki aye..!
looking good dell, im a little intrigued about the finished exhaust system ? cant wait for futer vids 😀
+Andrew Jones Hi mate, gonna shy away from the conventional and do something a bit dirty lol
have you considered going with a waterless coolant? someting like Evans? If your main concern is shedding weight, a waterless coolant will allow you to get rid of the overflow bottle.
+doug ireland Hi Doug, You read my mind, i had looked at a very smart alloy expansion tank that fits in behind the radiator, but it's even better not to have one at all... thanks for the reminder buddy, great minds think alike aye..!!
love your videos mate keep the hard work up in making these videos
+Steven Gelsthorpe Thanks mate, much appreciate you watching... loads to do, but can't wait to get properly stuck in !
Six previous owners but it seems that none of them was an electrician! Keep at it guys, this is good stuff.
+750spud He was....just a domestic electrician...lol
Moonfleet41 is that like a domestic cat - it comes home to eat and sleep but never really does what it's told
+750spud No thats a Teenager...! lol
enjoying this already, some twist and tape wiring and bonus pliers lol, I wonder how long someone's been looking for them.
+Daz Fowell Lookig at the state of 'em, I'll have to get them dated by Tony Robinson lol
lol
That looked like fun. I have a sudden urge to take something apart.
Now that would look great with a short German fighter style seat unit ! :-)
+Paul Mitchell Yeah, would probably look ok, but a bit done to death dont you think..
if you don't mind telling me what zx this is and what year, that would be highly appreciated
really excited to see this project progress and that exhaust! youve got all our attention now! ha no pressure ;) sure itll look fantastic!, may be doing a similar thing to my zx9r (99) as had a pretty big accident, fingers crossed engines ok when police decide to give it back :/
+danswicked Hi Dan, hope you weren't hurt in the sill mate... and if you get it back, then why not have some fun with it aye... good luck.. Del.
+danswicked Hi Dan, no mate, not a rat this time, but not a show bike either, Its gonna be basic, cheap and best of all....dirty...!
I can see a car boot sale coming up!!
With you changing and cutting the back end off will this effect the MOT when testing. I mean ur changing the structure of the bike etc? Dan
+Daniel Effard No mate, as long as the work is safe and properly put together it fine...the MOT is about making sure the bike is safe and legal...!
Yo Brother, Epic first vid mate. Cant wait to see the next one! Cool T Shirt!
Nice to see a Master at work ;-) love the music and, crikey..! you could open a parts department .
+martin hodgson H ha yeah, it is a very huge heap of bits, took all day yesterday to pack and photograph.. video up later..
RS.
+Grumpy Bike Wizard Yeah, almost a lb in weight...but not a standard fitment, so sadly cant deduct them..lol
Great start!.. :)
+BanditpowerDesigns Thanks mate.
I'm going to e doing a similar thing to my Yamaha R6 but mine is a true race bike !
Good luck with it Larry!
Just caught up with a load of Delboy's garage video and there awesome, well done you to. I have a load more videos to go through but something sprung to mind. We needs a Delboy Garage play list! Awesome sounds as well as vids.
Welcome aboard.. A dozen playlists on the channel buddy, all there for you if you look.
Excellent, sorry still working my way through, I'll dig them out. Ta.
Go to the channel front page, and click on "Playlists"... its all there buddy.. thanks again, take care.. Del.
lol, I meant you should pull together a music playlist. The tunes on the vid are great. I know you mention them in each video, but having a few music playlists would be great!
That really is a bargain bike Del..free pliers...can't knock it ;) Seriously though bike looks quite tidy!
Awesome man! I can see getting rid of the RAM system, carbs retune coming up? :)
Right off the bat with The Transition lmao
Well I have looked at the Transitions website and a few other places and I cant find where to buy their music. It looks like they specialize in live gigs and cover songs. The songs you have put on here are quite good though I would like to get them in MP3 format. Do you have a link to where to buy it? I need to email their contact link as well I suppose :)
This build is looking good, catching up on it.
I also cant find the song.
Great vid D/P, they could easily run longer for me! :) Good start on a cool build! (always enjoy the tunes too!)
+Allen Huling Thanks Allen, lots to do and looking forward to it!
Awesome guy! Get a bit of WD-40 on those pliers and they will be good as new!
+JaffaSaffa Naah, mate, B&Q budget spec... fosilised already..!
Great vid del not so much of a plumbers nightmare I thought it might have been look forward to next stage.
+Albert heaton Yeah, i was quite pleased with the lack of hosiery under there... its gonna make it easier to look neat..
You don't really think about it when it's all covered up but them bikes a one hell of a lot of plastic.great vid :)
+dazzie jackson Yeah arent they... so good to get it all off and shed so much wieght.. and we havent finished yet..!
Those HID's pack a whack...
time for a cordless impact gun. lol get those bolts and screws out fast and save your knuckles. really looking forward to watching the project. cheers
+Paul Smith Naaah, I love my Snap On rachet mate lol
How much for the rusty pliers Del ?
+liam f They are B&Q spec mate...there is no currency small enough to value them by... maybe one Vietnamese dong, but id still need to give you some change..!
Love the tunes del, bikes got a top class makeover artist too ;). Gona look sweet mate.
+kieren leak Hi Kieren, I sold the Micron end can almost right away, everybody wanted it lol... what's up with your Bandit mate??
thanks for getting back to me but been busy working fella, just about sick of my bandit 1200 now, like i said before ive gone thought everything with it, the issue i have now its not running right at all, so went out and bought a ultra sonic clean 22l version, took the carbs off got them like brand new, put it all back on run but then had a miss about 3k-4k in the revs, so sync the carbs got that sorted, then played again as when you was in 5th at 30 she would feel like she running out of fuel then she would fly, so went out bought complete carb repair kit, clean the carbs again now its worse then before, set the mixure screws right carbs clean again , had new o rings plus new inlet too real suzuki one they where £120 for 4 plus new bolts , ive spent more than the bike worth, i was wondering if you fancy looking at the bike for your show willing to pay ect please help ive had enough kieren
Thank you also so much for the kind comments, im glad we have been able to inspire you in some way, there have been many bikers around the world who have been inspired by what we do here, and have asked if they can donate to the running costs of the garage....so we set up a Patreon account, and you can become a patron of the DBG channel, you can give from just one single $1 donation, or make a monthly pledge if you prefer....here is alink, have a look at it and see if it is what you were thinking of.. www.patreon.com/user?u=2841534&u=2841534&ty=h
Thanks again buddy... take care
Del.
Quick sugestion. Maybe timelapse some parts of the video, i find myself skipping heaps of repetitive parts. Awesome project tho, love it
i have to agree
how to arrange the screw?
Hey Del, another great vid :) cheers. I noticed you have your bikes on trickle chargers. Do you even keep your daily hack charging, thinking is this something I should be doing?
+Matt Smith Hi Matt... i ride the General every day, and as my commute is 40 miles, it usually ok, but if i have a long weekend off, and it sits for a few days i bung that on an optimate too... helps the battery live longer..
Hello Del, if you have in plan to change the bars, i have some renthal 754 handlebars plus mounting brackets for free:)
Moonfleet41
I live in uk Del, close to Hull, i can deliver in person:) i just took them off from my gsx750f and put the stock bars on my bike.If you want them posted send me your adress to ionutmnl@gmail.com
+Manole Ionut Thanks so much.. email sent..
you gonna have to mess with the suspension after all the weight loss?
+lvcsslacker Going to do the fork seals shortly and will be using some lighter oil on them...and once its all done, itt see how it feels and adjust as needed...
hi I have a street fighter headlight in the garage doing nothing would you like it for your zxr
Del.
+Moonfleet41 did you receive the email
+scottyb120892 Yep, just replied buddy..
can you run with no clocks?? awesome project man
+Aln X Yep, speedo is not an MOT requirement, all you need it idiot lights which is just common sense.
Del's chop shop ep 1
Not hanging around eh Del! I kinda didn't want to see that Ninja anything other than a faired sports but it looks so cool stripped down =)
So no end can..
So can I come to you to street fighter the Duc? ;) hmm well now you got me wonderin'!
+TheCrazymook Yeah, do it....ill gte the tea made, you bring the double deckers...
Sound deal Del! ;)
Looks so much better already. Never been a fan of all the plastics.
Where are you selling the parts at?
+james scott INtended to list on Ebay on Tuesday, already have interest from a couple of people, but nobody paid yet... if they don't pay by Tuesday, I'll put the listings up - what where you interested in??
+Moonfleet41 I'm interested the grab rails
Just wondering, what happened to the "tiger Rat"?
+irgendwieanders1 Nothing happened to it....!
ah ok, it just seemed to have disappeared that's why I wondered.
+irgendwieanders1 Yep, no worries, mate, The General is alive and well and doing it's daily job of carting my carcass around in all weathers! Perhaps I'll do a little walk round of it soon as the winter has sure taken it's toll on the big fellah!
Moonfleet41
Well I'm looking forward to it, always loved your RatBike Projects! Greetings from Germany
+Moonfleet41 thanks for the fast reply del....I will have a good look over it just wanted to know if there was anything I should pay attention to more I know 2nd can be a problem with the first of the r6's
can you put your ebay in the description please
+Josh Arthur Not on Ebay yet mate, have a couple of interested parties who want to buy the lot....
What name are you selling under on eBay
+james scott Hi James, we've had lots of emails for random bits, somebody even asked for the left hand rail....cant break it up buddy, it'll take months and never get sold....its all going as one job lot, 33 items, all on two huge boxes...we need the space and money for the budget.. lookin at what all this stuff costs in individual sales, you'd pay over £600 for it all easy.. so we wanted £300 for the lot.. got an interested party, but not paid yet, so ill be posting the listing on Wednesday and ill do a link to it in the midweek video..!
HELP! Got oil dripping from my fuel tank breather and can't figure out what to do?
+Jack Yates ""OIL"" dripping from your ""FUEL TANK"" breather.... that's odd... do you mean the over flow hose ????
+Moonfleet41 yeah sorry it is the over flow
Del.
air rachets or cordless impacts, could really speed this up,maybe
+cigarcaptain ..... and where's the fun in that.... hand tools rock !
be serious Dell
holy hell, no wonder it was heavy! there was 50 lbs of crap on that! Seemed way "over engineered"
+wetnoodl The parts just tot up buddy, when you starting weighing 'em you realise just how much weight it accumulates !
No Clocks? really? you guys are allowed to have a street fighter without any.... and they call Australia the lucky country.... also if we cut the frame thats it the bike is history without an engineering certificate stating it is safe.... looking forward to the next video... love the pliers found in there... how funny was that....
Del.
looking good guys. man wish I could lose 23kg in 2 and half hours ;)
+Brian Hogan it's easy buddy, but unfortunately cutting your left leg off is detrimental to riding your bike lol
haha your right there delboy :D
Looks like a meccano bike now haha!
+MacBegbie Lots more to shake off it yet....that was just the outer skin..
Seriously... they insulated the turn signal wires with painter's tape?!? Bush league!
EDIT: oh blue electrical tape... still though, no crimping or solder?
+aseredy Nope, twisted together and taped over....and that was the main power lead from the battery....shockin aye..lol
evening del and penny. wouldnt mind buying those hid lights from you mate
Ofc if it goes in the mean time del its all good matey
That bike ain't stripped, It's naked. give the poor thing a cover............................ It's embarrassed ;0
+Chris Sugar Naked?, it aint seen nothing yet...lol
Let the diet begin
+s lagdon (8Ball) Too right, and so much more still to carve off...!
I wish I could loose weight like that ;-)
more more..... lol good goin del
+lee brookes Cheers Lee.. lookin forward to it.
Holy crap that's a lot of excess plastic.
+Roadking 2003 Isn't it just, not only plactic but metal and glass too... 23 kilos is a massive weight to be carrying over the front wheel...
you spoiled me with HQ videos and now this? :)
+a B O S 5 right you are :) thnx
+Peter Szilagyi Ooh you're just so eager...lol.
A shed load of ZX7R parts just went on ebay :P
+stevey2020 They certainly will be ... one big job lot - 33 pieces !
Free pliers, Bonus! lol
I hope Ryan sued the "tin box" idiot until he squeaked and the cops tacked on dangerous or due care for good measure, too many on the roads that seem to have bought their licences in Safeway 😶😶
Only recently subscribed so I'm just starting to catch up on all the vids.
