man i know blocks get hot but an external fire on aluminum? yeah i wouldnt trust that engine and the trans is weak to begin with. I'd say the diff is ok since it is well built and didnt get much heat but I'd shy away from the block unless you get a hardness test done on the aluminum to make sure it is still sound to take stress. I know these engines generally dont have headgasket problems but if you don't get it checked out, I'd imagine even after getting re- decked it might still have problems since we really don't know how hot the car truly got.
