She reminds me of times spent with my elderly family members. I admire the Queens schedule and ability to stick to it! She seems to me like a personable one that I wish to spend time with’
When the Queen visited Harare in Zimbabwe in 1991, the Buluwayo pipe band dressed in Stuart regalia, snuck onto the runway and as the queen inspected Mugabe's troops, they played her favourite scottish tunes. They were immediately arrested, beaten and expected to spend a couple of days in prison for the prank. Within 6 hours they were out - on condition they play at the formal dinner by despot Mugabe for the Queen. A long article was published in the government owned media. The queen had intervened. The end of a fun prank
Not so quick - 2 weeks later they were summoned to the Matabeli Government Building in Bulawayo. Could only be very bad news. The British consol was there and handed each a personal letter signed by the Queen thanking them. They also each got a framed certificate outlining their prank.

I admire HM's uncompromising dignity. I've just never seen anything like it.
Is it just me or is none of this surprising? I thought her dignity and humility were why the British like her (They still do right?). I mean, I'm an American and knew she was married to Prince Philip, and loves horseback riding. It's common sense that she manages stress well and eats a healthy diet, even if we don't know exactly what it is. I don't think she throws weights around like that, but many elderly get enough exercise doing things like gardening, which she may enjoy. I personally loved her Australian photobomb.

My mother-in-law lived to 105. An Aunt to 103. 3 other Aunts lived until well in their nineties. One of them had never been in Hosp until the day she died. I think its just a matter of luck really.
Do you know that The Queen personally writes a letter to every Commonwealth citizen who reaches 100 years old? I have a few friends who have the letters hanging in their home. She's awesome!

Good genes, except that her father died at 56
He was a lifelong heavy smoker and died of cancer.
I’m sure he would have been fine if he didn’t chain smoke and die of lung cancer
But her mom lived until she was 101yo. The healthy diet, lack of smoking, keeping active, and her support system etc also help obviously. Plus access to better than most to healthcare and dental care.

I admire her rigid routine to keep her healthy & happy, not always so simple when your a common person. I think that is worthy of admiration when life has so many distractions that pull us away from our routines & or when money doesn't allow us to stay as rigid as the Queens routine.

I really enjoy the Queen I find her a delightful person....
The queen seems like the best person ever and sounds lovely.
I already knew that the Queen eats modestly and I guessed that HM has good genes from her mother's exceptional longevity, but this selection still contained a few other info which I should've thought of too, because they're so logical. Such as live in a happy marriage, or loving partnership, handle stresses in an arm-length manner, or enjoy life and share your fortune with the less fortunate and so on. The moral of the story, that one doesn't need to be a queen or king to follow most of her lifestyle choices, because they are so simple, they are open to everyone. As for my personal thought, I think the UK, but also the Commonwealth are fortunate to have such an exceptionally long serving monarch as ours. She provides stability in time of ceaseless change, which our societies sorely needs. I wish God's grace on Her Majesty, and on her Prince, as long as it is humanly possible.

She has lasted as long as she has because of hundreds of reasons, mostly lifestyle and genetics! And remember she gets waited on hand and foot as well..no housework for her! She also loves the bagpipe because she's part Scottish like myself. Love the sound of bagpipes as well. What a spectacular job she's done since 1953! God Save the Queen! Thanks for sharing...cute video! BTW, she also has a little drinky poo every evening of her favorite cocktail and there is a lot to say for drinking all that tea! I drink Twinings and herbal teas everyday as well...it's in the blood!

Don’t get me wrong, I have tremendous respect for the Queen. She and the Royal Family seem to have done some terrific thinks re: charity work, but as an American, this all seems kind of silly. If we all had the bank account that the Queen has, we would ALL live to 100+ years old.

I think she is wonderful, she has given us all a wonderful example of how to live a balanced life. She eats healthy and doesn’t overeat. I love that she still rides horses and has always had dogs in her life which helps to live a long life. Just walking all over her homes is tremendous exercise. I think Harry’s wife was jealous and she could never measure up to her majesty and she should respect, love and admire the Queen but she won’t because she is too self-centered to care about anybody but herself. The Queen and I agree on many things, I like to stay up late, I love horses and dogs and I would love to be in her inner circle.
The queen has a long life because she can afford it.
It’s about time for her to pass on her throne since she probably can’t travel that much. But it is hard to give up power even over 70 years.
