I made 340 whp on 10 psi with e70 on my turbo brz and 270 on 7 psi with 91 octane. You’ll definitely need a better clutch and an oil cooler though. Also, make sure the evap lines under the intake manifold get clamped or zip tied down because they will pop off with boost. Zach Tucker at counter space garage and James Martin at HRI are the gold standard for tuning on this platform! I personally went with Zach because he has better turn around times for revisions.
Good informative post. I make similar power at 10-11 PSI on ethanol, usually around 70%. You will 100% want to clamp the lines under the intake manifold. They will blow off under even a few lbs of boost. Also make sure that bottom bolt on the black fuel injector ECU on the left side is tightened good, if it is not properly grounded the car will idle/die repeatedly and run like crap. Going on almost 50k miles strong tuned by James @ HRI so far, just long turnaround times.
I’m 350whp on 30% ethanol, ID 1000cc injectors, warlboro 450lph pump and Garrett g25-550. Been running strong for just over 6 months. Only issue I’m currently facing is a voltage drop after beating on the car for a bit and she cuts out when I come to a stop.
@@tdfferr8423 that’s an awfully high amount of power for 30% ethanol. How much psi are you running? Anything over 10 is risky on a stock block especially with such low ethanol content
Stock motor 13 psi is pushing it. I had ultimate racing turbo kit. With 8psi made 300 whp pump gas. Also uel headers/ manifold. Then got a Crawford block had 20psi never dynod it. But she was a blast. Spin city though, but when she hooked she was gone. Still on pump. Tuner- delicioustuning
I had 375-400 on 9 psi gtx3076 E85. Beat the hell out of it every single day. Daily driver and had over 40k boosted miles. Currently installing my built motor to make 860hp. Missing a few supporting mods to hit that number, so will sit at 650 until I get those.
Thought she started up easier after the injectors and fuel pump was done, she sounded a little starved for fuel initially with Jarrod, (hence when he revved it gave it more fuel, she starving, we know Jarrod jinx’s everything in the shop too. 🤣 Basic though she ran better because more fuel, you installed a turbo kit, even wt start up more air, (induction) requires more fuel, hence why it ran better after fuel system was installed. I wish you’d give the FRS the same detail as the Hyperablue 8 though, I “understand” parts are hard to get at mo, but def do the fuel rails Radiums sometime some nice billet under there would be sick, maybe an AEM intake manifold, she needs some billet and cerakote loving in there an IAG clear timing belt cover and some sick pulleys to make her stick out would look good too, def replace that mid pipe as soon as possible, that was pretty ugly, Manny the FRS deserves better. good work, get her tuned and make some sauce and let err rip, so we can see some drifts🤙
The front pipe to cat-back connection is supposed to utilize a donut gasket to take up that space, that's why that gap was as large as it was. Just a heads up.
I made 340 whp on e85 and 9 psi vortech sc . I will go with either Zack tucker at csg or James hri tuning he takes a long time to give you logs back that’s the only downside.
You'd be surprised how long eBay parts will last. I have had an eBay manzo catless downpipe on my car for like 2 years now no issues and I have seen brand name downpipes snap just after a year!
use the stock fuel filter that comes with it is trash, it don't have the three clamps that locks it in place, the fuel pump will fall out and you will lose fuel pressure, i upgraded my fuel pump to a AEM E85 fuel pump on my mazdaspeed 3 wit the same filter like that and it slowly was coming out from the unit, trust me do it just use the stock filter it has the three clips on the sides to keep it in place
@@re_imxge well the stock fueling can only support up to 300hp. So all you really need is a new intercooler,Cobb accessport, downpipe, and turbo. Hybrid turbo is the cheaper route and will get you to that 300hp number on a 30% ethanol mixture. You can easily go above 300hp with auxiliary port injection. If your goal is to go above 300hp, I would suggest the S280 turbo or a Garret 2860 gen2. If you have any questions I have no problem giving you some answers
@@dylanwatkins1019 Also one more question for you, obviously the access port doesn’t have a OTS tune for a new turbo they only go up to a stage 3 OTS tune, so I would have yo go either e tune or dyno tune. What do you have/ recommend?

Ran better with the bigger injectors because you balanced the air/fuel ratio a bit. The turbo kit is more air and the stock injectors is less fuel. Turbo kit + big injectors = more air AND more fuel.
I did it on my Garrett gtx3071r on my gen 2 speed... I have heard it makes a better difference on the precision turbos though. Garrett's already sound amazing out of the box if you get it with the antisurge housing. I had mine done at ocd works.
