    My mom's boyfriend from the ages of 6-10 was a Korean War vet that would threaten my life. Didn't shape me into a SEAL. Shaped me into a survivalist, and a bad one at that. If you want healthy kids, encourage them in their interests. Don't let them quit until they're done. Share as much as you have with them, even if It's almost nothing. They're depending on you for the rest of their lives.

    First target I went on with 2nd batt I had my m4, 320, two frags, a 9 banger, 12 40mm, a NARP bag, and then I also carried the ladder off the bird to ladder up on the compound walls, and would occasionally carry a Glock, easily 100lbs of gear. That was in the Hindu Kush at 9k+ elevation
    I’m about 6”1 and it is easier to move with weight when you’re taller I feel like.
    But the man speaks the truth

      So I’m the dork in the video. In my experience initially the senior dudes in your platoon/squad set a hierarchy through violence or the threat of violence. Then sometime in your first couple weeks you will be told to go fight/grapple someone in a different squat or platoon. Usually the person they pick is a big dude that has a fighting background. You will lose but they want to see how aggressive you are even when you know winning isn’t an option. From here fighting only happens when you are bored or people have beef. We would have squad brawls every month or so grappling and body shots only. We would all just be bored hanging around then someone would be like “let’s go ball up 2nd squad”. Fighting and hazing are just the culture.

    • @RyDeezy
      @RyDeezy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @jmc2282 thanks for elaborating on that! What an experience that must be though.
      You were awesome in the interview and I loved every minute of it. There are some things that I really don't know if I could put up with, and make it through, in those RASP or pre RASP sessions. I really commend you for being so tough and having that much courage and determination. It really is incredible.

    I love how the military seem to name the bad ass hills you have to ruck and run up all day. I was in the British army and we had 7 hills surrounding the regiment camp, they were called the 7 sisters and the worst one was named heartbreak hill because it has a false summit. if you had never been up it you would run as fast as possible thinking it's not too bad you would reach what you thought was the summit only to look up and see you were only halfway up it, another one was infamous as recruits had died on it because it was basically a massive sand dune, but every Friday morning we would do p.t before we finished at 12 and it was always either a ruck around the 7 sisters or a webbing,boots,and weapon run we earned our weekend off 😂

I would say drop your running some and incorporate strength training, be able to Bench 225, Squat 275, and Deadlift 315 for 1 rep at your weight and you will be good to go. The minimums IMO at your weight would be 75 pushups in 2 mins, 75 situps in 2 mins, 20 pullups, 36 min 5 mile, 185lb bench press, 225lb squat, and 245lbs deadlift for 1 rep each. A dude at basic miscounted(lost count) on my PRT by 30 on both my pushups and sit-ups. If I exposed him they would have kicked him out(It was the last PRT) due to the scandal that happened before we got there when dudes were doing 20 push-ups then their partners would say they did like 57 or something. That dude that lost count on my PRT didn't get triple digits on anything like I did and he wants to go to buds but he is fat 😂 he never apologized or asked how many pushups and sit-ups i did even though I did 113 pushups and 95 sit-ups. I let it slide because the numbers he gave were passing (71 pushups & 71 sit-ups) the RDCs knew he was lying and asked me if he gave accurate numbers and I said yes because he looked soo scared because he knew he f***ked up 😂. The common thing people do on the PRTs back then was do the passing numbers then stop 😅 and do no more. IDK if I should have exposed him and got him kicked out for that but that PRT scores he gave are on my records and the rest are outstanding highs 😎 but idk if it was worth his career.
