The 4.6is is "toey" down low, I only moved it around the driveway but definitely has good torque down low. Was 0.6 sec quicker to 60km/h, probably down to the 160kg weight difference, less inertia and all. Roll race would be interesting....

4.8 smoked like oil refineries. The 4.6is is an Alpina built engine. In terms of reliability, the 4.6is is a bit better

I cant believe that my 3.0d E53 (Sports Package) does 0-60mph in 8.87seconds and it’s just behind your 4.6is. Great video nice to see another E53 owner looking after these sporty SUV’s.👍🏽
Believe me between 100 and 200km/h you'll loose more distance to the is😉 the zf5 is really not a gearbox for 0-100 times...
@@maxgr7723 mine has 6speed auto not 5spd but anyway his 4.6is has a higher top speed where as my 3.0d top at 140
@@VRJSNGH no I meant the 4.6is gearbox, which is a zf5hp24x isn't meant for fast 0-100 or in empirical system 0to60 times. That's just about how clutches, torqueconverter etc were once designed for comfort. Between the zf6 and the zf5 is a huge difference. I meant that you can't really compare the 4.6is 0-100 because, that isn't it's strength. Neither of the gearbox, nor of the engine. Those cars shine between 100-200km/h accerlations.

Car looks great! I actually saw Cocko's E90 335i 17t video a couple of weeks ago, had NFI he'd be painting your X5 at the time. 😜 Both X5's make all the right noises and not too much between them, good to see the E53 get the win!
Yeah he is a N54 nut as well. Hopefully see him out at roll racing this weekend.
Would love to see how those numbers compare against my E53 X5 3.0i diesel...... I believe around 160kw and 500nm of torque from factory. Dare say it would be surprising to see how it stacks up, may even shock you. But would need done before it gets tuned and XHP flashed. Yell out if you think we can work something out to do the comparison

E53 hands down, by far the better 👍 but has said inside the e70 as bit of a better modern look! Also the E53 will always be that 1st classic suv by bmw!

Odd how you're not able to get anywhere near factory times in these cars. Are you getting similar figures to factory times with other types of standard cars?
No, its very rare for a stock car to get with in 1 second of its claimed times. We do 0-62mph, which makes a few tenths of a difference compared to 0-60mph and not using roll out, is a big difference as well. What we do is real vs best case scenario which is how they used to market them. On the flip side, i know people in the UK testing 2020 BMWs and they are going faster than claimed times now.

Classic cars are ment to be like from the factory, not fucked up afterwards. Imagine if somebody would wanna buy car like this and it would be his dreamcar... does he dream a random custom stuff or factory made? No contest for original, it just wins 🤗

Are you timing with a dragy or vbox and no roll out?
Zero to 60 is the channel name and you don't know which mode to put the car in to get the best time! In manual mode the 4.8i would be the fastest.

The e70 with the zf6 can be tuned but the e53 can’t.
@@ZeroTo60Tube interesting, I've got an e70 with the N52. Been throwing around the idea of doing the xhp tune on it but haven't seen anyone make content about it. I would love to see how this would translate on the SUV platform after the results you guys got on your 335i.

Traction control on , 2.500 rpm and launch. I own an e53 since 2012 and it does 0-60 in 7 seconds flat.Wet or dry !
How do you time yours?

Wow those are horrendously slow. I’m surprised, how the hell anyone was getting anything near 6.0 is a mystery. That’s why I got a N55 x1.
I dont understand it either, i own stock e53 4.6is and it does 60 mph in 6.5 sec. There's definitely something wrong with these cars
Убитые Х5, оба причём 😂 Даже Х5 дорестайлинг с двигателем 4,4 М62 разгоняется с 0 до сотни за 7,3-7,5 секунд, а живой Х5 Е53 4,6i должен по идее разгоняться за 6,5-6,7 секунд.
