Talking abt the pizza party thing. I lived in Mexico most of my life, and since we all pretty much had emotionally unavailable parents, even the teacher would cooperate, but if someone didn’t pay, we were all aloud to bring our own extra bag of chips to share or eat.
When we have pizza parties, it is Literally the teacher splits the class into two groups, smart kids in one, average in the other and who ever won the general knowledge test would get pizza and we would have to go do normal work.
My school had pizza parties for the "best class" for years Prep to 4. They would always give it to the preps. Why? Because they're HaRdWoRkInG. Like, they literally have ABCs and colouring books! Every other class has harder work and yet we got nothing.

In our school at a certain time of the year in school ( this was in 2nd grade ) the kids that never missed a day of school would be able to go to the cafeteria and have cotton candy, pizza, etc and watch a movie or two. And this was during class. So the ones who missed a day or more would have to stay in class and do work- and the kids who went got to skip it and they didn't have to do the work later on..I was never a kid who got to experience that due to I missed a day or more of school that whole year-

When I was in 4th grade it was my ‘friends’ (I didn’t really know her that well) last day at the school before she moved, so we had a pizza party. I had surgery that day.. 😞 I never got to see her again.

Awww, I had a friend move away to in fourth grade. She was my best friend and I still cry when I think about her leaving

For the pizza parties, I would always leave some worksheets to leave the room and do because I hated pizza and otherwise would bring my own “special” lunch. I would also have books on the ready. I was an avid daydreamer and still am, so that would hits me too lol
