Huzzah and BRAVO! Epic! As many have said, great choice in music. Really highlighted the grandeur of the location. I can only imagine the trek to that site in antiquity. Wouldn't sell for it's front porch, but the view... What was that man hiding from? I'm afraid none of us could fathom. He obviously lost his will or ability to leave when it was safe.
Nice job. Visited the caves in 1968 with a 16 y/o buddy (I was of a similar age) named Gil Bateman. We actually visited and spent a lot of time in the caves about 500 meters further down the canyon. Not as deep but still fun to crawl around. This one had the trail up to the stairs but the stairs were sealed off by a chain gate. Large sign told the (then) story of the Sandia Man and indicated that someone planned to build a diorama of full sized mannequins within the cave as some kind of attraction. Other than the idiots who feel the need to tag everything in sight I'm glad they opened it to the public. Very primordial... sit on one of the ledges to the "lower" caves with your legs dangling over the edge and you can imagine life there 20,000 years ago...
Sweet, I didn't even know this cave existed, I'll have to make the trip some day. Thanks for sharing!
Cool!!! Getting water and fire wood to the cave must have been extreme! Liked the music!
