About the Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine Program at Loma Linda University:
Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty that uses radioactive tracers (radiopharmaceuticals) to access bodily functions and to diagnose and treat disease. The skills of the nuclear medicine technologist complement those of the nuclear medicine physician and other allied health professionals. The student technologist learns about patient care, radiation physics and safety, preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals and diagnostic imaging procedures. Additionally, students learn about radiation detection equipment, computerized imaging cameras, and research procedures.

@Rich 91 doctors do become specialists... But someone who goes to medical school becomes a MD or DO. Not a Technologist, which usually just goes to a college or school of allied health.
It would be interesting to watch recent graduate profiles, including how many students are able to get a full time job with benefits. The profile of the techs in the video appear to be a bit older. This makes me wonder if newer students are even able to get jobs. In my experience the market has been super saturated for over a decade, more specifically since around 2005. Some local nuclear medicine programs are closing due the oversupply of technologists compared to the limited supply of jobs. I’ve been lucky to have had a nuclear medicine job without any interruption, but this has been more the exception than the norm. Most jobs that I have seen are prn work, meaning no benefits. If students are interested in this program I would implore you to look in the specific geographic area in which you are interested in working, and then look for full time openings and judge whether or not going into nuclear medicine is worth it for you vs the debt you incur.

I'm a senior in high school this year with interest in becoming a Nuclear Medicine Physician, I already know the requirements from where I am to college, and medical school, but I don't know how to specialize in nuclear medicine if anyone can help me understand this process more clearly I would be most grateful.
Various institutions can offer different specialisations. In Australia, one of our universities offers a 4 year course called 'Medical Radiation Science (with specialisations)'. You'll need to read the online handbook of the course and see if they mention the possibility to specialise in Nuclear Medicine. Additionally, you can contact the college's general enquiry number and ask them.
After residency (I think in radiology) , you can choose to become a fellow in nuclear medicine

In Australia it's most commonly a major (or I suppose, specialisation) in the bachelor of medical radiation sciences, e.g. Bachelor of medical radiation sciences (nuclear medicine). So no, it's a specialisation in medical radiation sciences, not in medical technology. Other majors include medical imaging and radiation therapy, as far as I know. Nuclear medicine technologists aren't the "top" of their food chain, normally there's a specialist medical practitioner telling you what tasks they want you to perform for a particular patient in order for them to thoroughly assess the patient afterwards.
