Bruce is simply the best. I've watched this a million times. And I still can't ride a vintage bike without whistling the tune of "On any Sunday"

Very cool. Your dad was the man! One of my childhood hero's. We used to go out to B2V every year in the late 60's to mid 70's and a lot of other D37 races.

One of my first Distric 37 races I lined up next to your dad. When they dropped the
Banner I rode like a banshee to the smoke bomb. Your dad was already across the valley going up a hill. I did get better.🤣

    Epic! Thanks for uploading this.
I rode a Check Chase out there in the Lucerne Valley, maybe a year or two after this footage was shot. Rode a Sachs 125 bought from Jack Baldwin's, where I worked. Moved up to a 250 Husky a year later and went to work at Valerian's just after Whitey Martino left. So many good memories..... Those were the days!

I never knew until today that Bruce Brown made this film! As a South Orange County resident, myself and my family used to go to Elsinore and the desert in the late 60's/early 70's often, and rode the hare & hounds trails. My brother and I wanted to enter races, but perhaps wisely, my Dad wouldn't let us. We all have many fond memories of those times. Although I no-longer ride dirt, I now ride a street bike, my favorites haunts are Ortega Hwy to Elsinore, and any back country roads, my favorite being Santiago Canyon Rd,

All that's missing is Fauss, Halsy and Moneth.
