For the first part Route Generator is also a great application and you only need one map, no overlays, no blending, no aligning and you can even add your own vehicle that will travel along the route with a moving line.
Nice tutorial , but too fast , following yours steps , when the overlay is loaded into , you type in the search area brisbaine and appears your route , how have you do that because if I type my started point doesn't appear all the route like you. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the tutorial!!! You helped me a lot. Yet I still deal with several questions to which I can't find answers to. Are you available for a teamviewer so you can see the problems I'm having?
That crop idea is cool. My issue is earth studio shows a purple line which is really hard to see! How do I change the colour of the route in earth studio?
I really want to make a map like you'd see in a video game/Indiana Jones, etc and then use after effects to do the route but I have dedicated myself to that time suck yet.
Haha yeah that would be super cool! It’s definitely on the list but I haven’t got the time yet, it took me hours to fine tune these ones as-is 😅 maybe that’s the next episode!
For the easy example, If you screen capture the whole browser app window, you'll will automatically have perfectly aligned versions of the map for layering.
Thanks for the efforts putting this together. I'm holding out hope Relive starts to allow route visualisations without having to actually do the trip. That would be a much more dynamic, easier to produce route visualisation if they offered that feature. I'd pay for it and I'm sure others would also.
dude! I've been wondering how I could achieve something like this without using after effects... And I came up with the idea to do it with google earth and record it somehow. This seems to be a good way!
Will do man! Is there a way to get rid of the red pins on the map and make the line thicker + show the names of towns?? I saw them before I exported but in the final video they are gone. @@lifeofascrambler
Hi! To be honest I've not tried that myself so I couldn't tell you, but I hoped I could pass on the basics so that people can experiment and learn - if you figure it out please let me know I'd be keen to hear your thoughts!
To summarize, if I have to make an animated video in Google Earth Studio I need to select my first view, press keyframe button And then keep changing view and with every change press key frame button once so it records it and then I can save it right? Wohoo! Thanks for video
No, you don’t need to keyframe each change of view, it’ll take longer if you do it that way too. Just set your start and end views with key frames it’s much quicker and easier
So you place markers in My Maps, but no route is generated....additionally, you have to create 1st empty layer and then place markers on 2nd layer for that???
Great questions! Yes, if you're making just the '2D' style topdown map you can just create the route in Google My Maps in a separate layer, and turn it on - take a screenshot, then turn it off and take a screenshot - BUT if you wanna make the 3D route then you just need to create the route and export as KML, load it into google earth studio and then export one video with the route on, and one video with the route off - the next step is the valuable trick - feel free to buy a coffee and I'll send you details!
I am currently trying to make a clip like this but as soon as I put the clip into Final Cut Pro it stops working. It plays fine in QuickTime Player but as soon as I try to put it in Final Cut, half of the clips go black and nothing will render. I have been googling and watching tutorials to see where I went wrong but can't find anything! I am super stumped, do you have any ideas? I even made more videos in Google Earth Studios but I am having the same issue. All my other videos (everything but google earth studios content) is working fine.
That’s a tough one it could be the file type, how many frames per second you’ve got in google earth studio, (try less like 30fps if you can) or sometimes when you download videos they can drop frames (like one single black frame) which can corrupt the file so if you scan through the video and clip that out it might work. The only other thing is your laptop might not be able to handle the quality of the file so try setting the main viewer window as “proxy only” or try changing between those settings - hope that helps but sorry it’s nothing I’ve run into before!
@@lifeofascrambler Thank you so much! I did put the frames per second up high for better quality but I will bring it back down and hopefully that works. Or I will keep working my way through the list.
@@DreamTripping If you drop the clip onto a timeline in Final Cut, then export this, ideally as a ProRes but H264 also fine, and then import that exported clip back in to Final Cut. This new clip wont have any of the black screen problems.
Apologies - it is probably one of the more advanced skills so I would recommend learning these to begin with: How to make and export Google My Maps - th-cam.com/video/azp5HkeYjDc/w-d-xo.html | How to keyframe and make an animation in Google Earth Studio - th-cam.com/video/rDfMVAp52pM/w-d-xo.html
Thanks! Its a little tricky at first, but you can always slow the video down or pause at each part then follow along - thats how I learned CAD a few years back 😅
wow, detailed tutorial, but if you really want to know full details go pay for it. without last part of rout appearing there is no point to mask and add second layer, so why you explaining something without ending it. dissapointing
Thanks for the feedback. It takes many hours to learn these tricks and many more to make the video to pass them on, so I thought the price of a coffee might be fair in exchange for that effort! Disappointing indeed!
Thanks! This was really useful.
Thank you! Let me know if I can help any way!

Interesting! Thanks for the input I’ll check it out!
Route Generator......is this another app or a function within google maps?
super! thank you!! this one really help me. i just wanted something simple🙏🙏
Can you tell me exact name of application or give me the link please ❤❤
Sadly not an option on the Mac!

Sweeeet....Thanks
Wow this is sick!! Google Earth Studio seems like a dream. I am suprised I never heard of it. Thanks for showing me this.
Haha thanks man! Glad I could be helpful 🤗
How’s the travels going!?
can i ask how to remove the line before take the 2nd screen short but remain the destination mark?

Great point! Thanks!
Would IMovie work for editing ?

Geez..how did you figure all of this out?! So many steps, at least for a beginner like me.
what video editing apps are you using??
Final Cut Pro X for this one because it’s a one off payment and has great tracking included!
Great video and information. Can this be applied to multi-leg flight routes ?

OK. I'll buy you coffee. How do I do that? I want to know how you reveal the blue line...
No worries I’ve got a link there - if you buy me a coffee and mention your name I’ll respond with a comment telling you how!

Anyone know how to do this in Da Vinci?

Can you do this with your google maps timeline?
Not sure! I’ve never tried it
Can you monetize the video if you use any content from Google Earth studio?
Great question, I think so yeh as long as you leave the attribution watermarks in
@@lifeofascrambler thank you
@@learningspot-l5d You are most welcome!
Thanks for the tutorial. I look forward to trying this
No worries, keen to see what you come up with!
Take that into account .. no pun intended

great, video. thanks mate

Neat. Wouldn't really call this a tutorial though.
There’s plenty out there I just wanted to give an overview. Happy to chat about any custom animations / maps you might need!
Map overlay may be simplified by choosing std coordinate corner vertices ....
~60% matching might be time consuming....⏹️📈📉
