I think Carbon gets overlooked because it had to live in the shadow of MW2005. Carbon had some issues too compared to mw 2005. Its map didn't flow quite as well as MW, shorter story, and no way to really make money after game end. It did improve quiet a lot over MW and imo is definitely in the top 3 of the Blackbox era.

Music is lacking since NFS Payback. Playing as Mac in NFS Payback was torture due to music selection. Daytime in NFS heat is held back due to the same reasons.

Not going to lie, I respect your opinion. But I feel like this game's soundtrack fits it's underground rap and street racing feel, there is some songs that can get me hyped asf for a race and during one. I just believe that half of the people in the comment sessions is just living off of pure nostalgia fuel at this point.
Some are good picks, some are not. But there needs to be more variation than just rap and electronic. Hell, even the older NFS games had original scores. Which is why it made them so popular. Then again, we have different opinions. I respect yours.

NFS underground took place where screamer bands was the trend of the era. Nfs underground 2 took place in an era where trance was the thing. The revered NFS most wanted took place in an INDUSTRIAL city and was made in 2005 so nu metal and rock fit the aesthetic perfectly. Carbon took place in an URBAN city so you heard a lot of futuristic type songs. Heat takes place in a MIAMI style city in 2019 so you heard a lot of Spanish songs during the day. Unbound takes place in 2022 in a CHICAGO style city so obviously you're gonna hear a LOT of rap. It's not the early 2000's anymore. No one street races to Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold and Static X these days. Nowadays everyone street races to some rapper off SoundCloud who finally got his chance. Is it the BEST soundtrack? Hell no. But it is WAY better than Heat's soundtrack imo.

Eh tbh some of the unbound songs are not really that bad especially the original composed one and its main theme could be pretty iconic for the title ig. My favorites were the pursuit theme especially the heat 5 pursuit themes, that theme screams the classic MW/Carbon pursuit theme.

If they remaster nfsmw, it'll just be the same as the gta remasters. Only minor graphical improvements. Possibly ruining the original game's art style. You can't expect them to improve a lot when working on a game engine from 20 years ago. There's only so much you can do. If they were to instead do a remake, the handling would probably not be the same as nfsmw since they're using a new game engine
Next thing that pissed me off about Carbon was that we could only listen to the licensed tracks in checkpoint races, or free roam. We only got to listen to 3 or 4 composed tracks, we had no option to put the licensed tracks in the races. Nice. I wanna know who thought that was a good idea. -_-

Honestly, watching this video really made me reflect on the whole thing with the unbound soundtrack, and that is that it didn't have to suck. Some of the songs from Carbon sound like they'd fit right into Unbound's soundtrack, with all the other tracks. Unbound's problem is one of application. Carbon (and for that matter other titles, older and newer) specifically selected songs and genres for specific scenarios, which made them integrate into gameplay much better - Separating racing music from cruising music, different genres for different types of cars, etc. Meanwhile, Unbound shares a single pool of music for everything that isn't in the garage, and i'm not sure if it even does that, given how similar the vibes are across both. Carbon's soundtrack are constructed carefully for the game, appealing to gameplay first. Unbound's soundtrack just sounds like one big multicultural hip-hop playlist, with the genre and vibe being the focus, instead of how they integrate into the game.

The new OST isn’t that bad imo, I’m not a fan of the genres that they chose songs from. But even then, I’ve been able to enjoy a few songs on my own time, outside of the videos showcasing the music. I will not deny that there are a lot of songs that are purposely trying to be loud and shouty, but I just stay away from those. I got dizzy and still get dizzy from listening to Heat’s OST, but that’s because there’s like 10-12 songs and they keep looping over and over and over and over and over and over and over. So in my eyes this game’s soundtrack was already better besides the actual song list.

I feel like this is kinda cheating. Anything with Carbon or Most Wanted's OST would become better. I may not have the game yet, but I think the OST of unbound fits. I kinda prefer the cop music here over heat because heat's theme didn't impress me much. Heat 1-4 doesn't feel like chase music, fair enough, but Heat 5 is a godsend.

The new OST isn’t that bad imo, I’m not a fan of the genres that they chose songs from. But even then, I’ve been able to enjoy a few songs on my own time, outside of the videos showcasing the music. I will not deny that there are a lot of songs that are purposely trying to be loud and shouty, but I just stay away from those.
I got dizzy and still get dizzy from listening to Heat’s OST, but that’s because there’s like 10-12 songs and they keep looping over and over and over and over and over and over and over. So in my eyes this game’s soundtrack was already better besides the actual song list.

I feel like this is kinda cheating. Anything with Carbon or Most Wanted's OST would become better. I may not have the game yet, but I think the OST of unbound fits. I kinda prefer the cop music here over heat because heat's theme didn't impress me much. Heat 1-4 doesn't feel like chase music, fair enough, but Heat 5 is a godsend.
@@darknova1552 It's probably because those older games were so good. They likely want to see '05 but remastered, because it would be the definitive edition. It's like when a cult classic game is better than its sequels and people are begging for a remaster. '05 already got a soft remaster in most wanted 2012, so I feel like that just won't happen.

@@Darknova591 I mean, to be fair, EA does some bullshit from time to time. Hell, they killed Heat, made us wait an extra year for unbound, and didn't even put it on last gen consoles. The last NFS game we got was basically an under developed (in terms of potential) game that they killed a studio off for after they finally made a game we all liked.

what the fans of the black box era want is everything that made the previous games great and also everything that the developers wanted to do but were unable due to console limitations
unbound is the most competently made NFS in a long time but its style is not a good fit for illegal street racing at all
basically a 7/10 NFS that could have been a 9/10 if it did not have an abysmal soundtrack
@@alexalcalaortiz368 I wasn't talking about MW2012. That doesn't feel like most wanted 05. I meant an actual remaster of 05. Also, as for the style, I do think the urban grafiti stuff is nice, but the tone might not be match. If it is a 7/10, that just puts it in the same camp as NFS 2015, where I like it even if it's flawed.
