      Courtney Curtis-Smith Hey thanks man I really appreciate that. Stuff is getting fewer and prices are getting higher but it's still out there. Be glad to help you out when you find yourself one, cheers and thanks for watching!

    • @bassrogue8640
      @bassrogue8640 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      sweet man thats great. ive been lookin around im thinking getting a sportster frame would be best for a bobber build.. what do think? what year is the most versatile and will i have to do much fabrication to get a shovelhead in there.. being limited here in new zealand maybe i should settle for a evo?

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Courtney Curtis-Smith Yeah I'm guessing an Evo might be easier to find than a Shovelhead or Ironhead? Squeezing a shovel engine in a Sportster frame would be alot of fabrication.

      @jfrost77hd  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      DANNY NOEL Yeah the old style lift the pedal mounts were squared and skid on and off, the new style down pedal has a round bolt set screw do it's a pita. I'll probably drill and pin it.

    Good to see one of your vids again, and i like those 60s and 70s bikes you have, those are sweet! And do you still have your Firebird? Its been a long time since you made a video on that.

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hotrod Hemi Hey thanks man, yeah I try to stick with the older stuff. Sadly I sold the Firebird about 6 months ago, hated to do it but I was limited on space to start the business. The business is doing good but once again I'm out of space...funny how that happens. Thanks for watching!

    • @jaymoe5.7
      @jaymoe5.7 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      jfrost77hd Haha yeah if it helped get money and space to start your buisness id say it was worth it, and i know the feeling, i built my garage once i needed space for projects, then i built a shed for storing more projects, and then another one because i have too much stuff, either way good to see ya back, take care man

  • @samuelwhiting5051
    @samuelwhiting5051 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Really digging' your stuff brother! What happened to the 72 Ironhead you were building?
    Super hard to find bits and pieces here in Australia for that 70's style.

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Samuel Whiting Hey thanks man, yeah the good stuffs getting harder to find but still come a crossed it here and there. Sold the 72 to a buddy who sold to a customer of his. Its powdercoated some crazy candy apple green now. Didn't necessarily need it but the engine is getting overhauled top to bottom. I'll get video of it sometime. Thanks for watching!

    Oh man you've gone to the dark side, See no EVO ,Hear no EVO ,Ride no EVO , Na just kidd'n I like a nice Evo looks like you have a fine one there, i have my 77 in pieces again , doing some starter and solenoid changing, I like that starter lever, that puny white wire from the controls always leaves me worried, May just have to get me one of those looks beefy too. Pray for warm Bro, Remember Wrench, Ride, Repeat, Now off to eBay to check out your stock. DMSears

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      PaPa Blista I was waiting for that comment, knew that one would eventually come up! I know I know... but a good deals like walking away from money and I just can't do that. Honestly it was nice for a change of pace and I hadn't done a open belt drive so was a good learning experience. Just something to turn a buck on but it ended up being a pretty nice bike! Thanks for watching my friend!

    • @papablista627
      @papablista627 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You the man J-red I do like that EVO your building looks as classic as a EVO can you have the touch.BTW what camera setup are you using, I just purchased a Go Pro 3+ Silver wasn't my first choice but the price was right. My cam bit the dust back when I was doing the rewire on my 77 that's why it was never continued or updated ( BTW the wiring is nice like new ) I hope to put up some motovlogs and how to's out this summer, I wanna take a scoot out west RT66 I hope, I wouldn't mind stopping by your place also were only 50 miles apart give or take from each other. On another point I am going to need some of those Voss clamps for exhaust and some intake seals & and clamps, I'll get that order in soon. While working on my start system I found my intake seals are wrapped with Teflon tape, Go figure. When I pulled it in in fall It was starting to only fire on one jug (the rear) until it warmed up. Maybe that is the cause. Gotta find the time to get it back together spring is coming... Be safe brother...

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      PaPa Blista Hey buddy, yeah been staying busy. I use a Sony Cybershot, I liked my older one better but it works pretty good. Yeah those intake gaskets are a pretty common replacement every few years, they dry out and crack then cause intake leaks. I'd probably throw some new plugs at it too. Be glad to send you out some stuff whenever your ready. Take it easy man and thanks for watching!

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      elliott neville Hey thanks man, its a king sportster tank. Front mount is bolted to a stock hole, rear I might run a spring from tab to tab. I might drop it lower in the front, I'll have to smooth some of the neck to squeeze it on. Thanks for watching!

    Hey bud, do you rewire the bikes different from stock. I've been looking for a video on wiring an ironhead.

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      chrisronda17 Yeah usually that's one of the issues with older bikes. Over the years people bandaided this or that so I usually just rewire them as simple as possible. Have never made a video on it...usually not my favorite thing to do.

  • @tilleypatrickpt
    @tilleypatrickpt 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey buddy I am going through a 79 ironhead at the moment and ran into my first bump I pulled the engine and removed the primary cover and I think there is something broke and I have no idea what it is. something to do with the starter if I could send you a short video of what it is I know you could tell me what the deal is. any help is GREATLY appreciated

    • @jfrost77hd
      @jfrost77hd  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Patrick Tilley Hey Patrick, if you pulled the primary and a brass washer fell out that's normal. It's the thrust washer that goes on the end of the shaft that goes into the primary.

    • @tilleypatrickpt
      @tilleypatrickpt 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      jfrost77hd the piece that has the reverse thread nut on the end slides in and out and appears to be broken on the end that slides inside the bendix. it didnt have a brass washer either.I don't know how to send you a picture or I would. thank you for the reply btw, much appreciated.
