    The nocturnal type love the purple larkspur that grow wild in the purposely “unkept” portion of the yard.

    It's very unusual for any insect to feed from more than one kind of plant, but I've seen sphinx moths feed from various flowers. Also, unusual in that they fly during the day or at dusk instead of nighttime. Like a hybrid of a butterfly & moth.

    The hummingbird that hangs around my zinnias is black and dark blue. The wings don't look clear. Flies very fast.

    Why are moths so darn scary- I grew up in Ohio where we had huge bird size moths. The things of nightmares. Scary looks like a big bee!! Kill it burn it with fire lol.
