I remember hearing gems like this on the radio during my youth as I read comic books and did pencil drawings. What was considered "pop" back then was amazing by today's standards.

Already 33 years now when they hit the airwaves. Remember it playing as early as late 1990, but every time I hear the song takes me back to early 1991. I was already 14 can still remember everything that was a part of the 90s besides Freestyle music. I think of that time, kids I grew up with. Some are gone, some are married with kids, some of us lost our way only to find our way back. But really, takes me back to the moment I'm chillin in my room talking with a friend who was close like a sister. Wasn't till this song hit realized I liked her more than just as a friend, she felt the same. Yet nothing happened after the revelation, it was all on me. Never pulled the trigger cause I was too focused on other options. One regret I have to this day was never saying and showing how I truly felt. Lesson learned. No matter where time and place takes us, always be the one moment and memory I have. Always be our song, AE and NC❤️ always.

It could be someone thought it was cheesy, or it reminded them of someone they hate, or it could be something as simple as racism.
