Beware!!! Discovering Dead South while drinking Jack Daniels will result in Amazon delivering a banjo three days later when the hangover is just starting to ease up!!! Love This Band!!! Makes me so proud to be Canadian eh!

Great podcast! Here I am, a random Dutch guy who just bought a banjo because of The Dead South, listening and watching to the most underground interviews with members from The Dead South. Nate's awesome. Great personality, kick ass voice.

I found The Dead South via TH-cam. Love your band, your music and your voice. After the pandemic I will fly to see you guys live.

Awesome interview! Lots of love for Nate and The Dead South. I just you all in Tucson. I can't believe that Achilles is one of the first songs. It's definitely my favorite. Keep up the good music!

This was such a fantastic interview. Since discovering the band only three days ago, I have binge-watched every-single-thing I could find from or about The Dead South. So thanks for this! To Nate: you said you're surrounded by such talent in your band...they're all so much better than you. Well, I don't know about that, but you hold your own. That said, I have watched dozens of these "Reaction" videos where someone will watch "In Hell I'll be in Good Company," having never heard of the band. It's so fun to watch them light up the way I did. And when you sing that first line, with that raspy voice, their faces get all scrunched up, then their eyebrows go up, and then a great big smile breaks out, and they stop the video, and say "I was not expecting THAT! I LOVE THIS GUY'S VOICE!" Dittto that, man. I could listen to you all day. My latest favorite is You Are My Sunshine...the quality of your voice on that is phenomenal. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU IN SPOKANE on Dec. 21, 2021! Thanks for a great, candid interview!

    Such a nice interview.
I stumbled upon The Dead South a couple years ago, but recently have been listening to the music quite a bit.
While I’m probably old enough to be Nate’s mother, I’m enjoying knowing someone else went to university to become a teacher, but then went another path.
Oddly enough, another favorite group of mine whose music has some similarities, was also led by a couple of Canadian school Teachers …
    Tanglefoot.
They used to play at the Big Island Rendezvous in Albert Lea (Minnesota) and were also a lively bunch of story tellers.
I bet the boys could do a good cover of Dollar Bill.

So I thought Danny left the band in August 2020? Was this recorded before that, or is Danny back in the band?

      Their old manager.
They said that in their sugar and joy listening, it's a playlist on their youtube channel.
