more of this. Spirit of the Viper.
One thing i'd like to see added; a small section on the unique unit.
For tutons for example: "tutonic Knights are a high attack, and high armor unit. However due to its slow speed it's rarely a unit you want to focus your build around."
This for people Like me who don't or rarely play aoe2 but Love watching it.
To get a better idea of why certain unique units are basicaly never build in pro matches
This is a good idea to include a quick snippet about the unique units/buildings of a civilization. Thanks!
And i would focus on How viable is going the UU for certain civ. When to use it and with What composition
"tutons" are one of my favorite civs
Viper: I'm trying to stop saying "usually" so much
Viper 4:40 : This is USUALLY done with a hybrid approach
I found that funny. Good video!
Great idea for a series, we needed this, because it usually depends
A ranking for the post imp would be also cool at the ending
Definitelyyyyy
And rank for RAGE FOREST!,
Feel like most competitive games wouldn't ever get that far
@@michaelcross7665 ok?
@@michaelcross7665doesn't mean it shouldn't be included most comes with the word some that will go late game
5:15 I usually just like watching AOE2:DE content, but one thing that's Probably(most likely, idk) just me, is the fact that I love making "realistic-esque" cities/bases, and liked the Aztec city in the background.
Also to explain it further, I basically like making cities/bases in AoE2:De like they're made in Campaigns and Scenarios, overall great video! :D
Tatars. I don't actually care what the rankings for them are, they're just my favorite civ and I love seeing them used/talked about
Always love their cav archer play, feels so smooth
@@slungelliferight? Scouts into fast CA is so nice. Hard to pull off sure but it's fantastic when you can do it.
What an amazing series! Really looking forward for the next episodes.
Aztecs, my favorite civ since Conquerors released all those years ago!
+1
i was like how he will explain the civ in 5 min but the editing made it possible, well done tiramisu!
So nice to see some grades on more than 1 type of map. Although it would be great see hybrid maps added to the list
Agreed, hybrid is a good shout for an extra ranking. I'll include it in the future and add a quick note on how I'd rank Aztecs there in the next video :)

Awesome series idea and the short video length is ideal
Loved it mate, straight to the point and didn't drag it on. Good stuff.
Love the series idea! Thanks for bringing it. I would like a Magyars review !
Great format! Ive been playing again recently, and having a short guide on every civ in video format can be a life saver
Franks would be a great civ to review since they're so common in 1000+- ELO games
Greaatt videoo!! It's like Spirit of the law and Viper get mixed
gotta love the fact that he has to start all over again after every patch xd we will never see wikings
Awesome video and I love this new series already!
Adding insights and stats as well as your own experiences makes your judgement extremely well rounded and reasonable! 👏
Any idea why Pros value Aztecs so high even though they perform less for higher ranked players and do not exceptionally well in tournaments?
Due to the current stable/knight meta Aztec feel a bit wierd. Furthermore, their archers cannot compete with the strongest archer civs. For all these reasons, Aztecs feel like a heavy gold intens and one togo strategy Civ.
Not having Helbs and Scoutline makes their trashwar even worse. The way they finally lose a very long awesome game feels bad.
I wish the Jaguar Worriors could become more valuable beside a infantry killer. Japanese and Goths seem to overcome with raw power or mass. So they do not accomplish very well… some build abbility (Sergants) or making nearby infantry and /or only themselves stronger in larger groups like Romans come to mind.
I feel like they are currently last pick of the 3 Meso Civs as the others do everything better, cheaper, longer than Aztecs except Monks…
Aztecs are so snowbally and you can’t really afford to make a lot of mistakes against them, and in tournaments mistakes happen more frequently. The Eagle scout is also valuable for laming.
@@TheViperAOE🤯this makes sense. Do they often fall behind and cannot come back on the other hand.
@@TheViperAOEany additional thoughts about Jaguars Warriors?
Love it. Hopefully the next ones come soon :)
We need more of this Vipur, tell us about other civs
great series! my personal wish for next episodes: japanese, huns (becasue huns are huns you know...) or incas
Love the Map type and Age Tier list! How about adding more ratings like Archers, Cav, Infantry, Monks, Siege, Defense, Economics, Trash, Team Civ,
Maybe one for common strategies?
Drush, Flush, (Trush),Scoutrush, Smash, FC, Fast Imp,
That's too many and it's really hard as the viability differs map to map as well, and 1v1s vs TGs :D
I don't hate the theory behind Aztec -- they have the Eagles to focus in infantry play, a counter to Longswords in the form of Jaguars to remain dominant in infantry, and absolutely excellent monks.
But nobody makes Longswords as a plan-A unit, you make *Knights* as a plan-A unit, so Jaguars are only serving as a deterrent to a unit type that is rarely made anyways, and then it's down to the monks to pray there's not enough light cav to snipe them.
Nice video Viper, you are the heart of the community
Great idea, i love your competetive perspective. Poles please! :D
Great video Viper, Hope there will be more. But when I looked at it, I started to wonder if you had come up with one/several Civs?
So helpful, many thanks!!
I loved this! I have a couple of thoughts about this series:
1. I would appreciate more visual feedback, words emphasizing in which area the civ is good and Bad at.
2. Just a thought, but insted of going for popular civs, why not start with the least popular ones? I feel like some civs don't get played enough because the meta has gotten stale, or because some people (myself included) usually goes for the safer Arabia picks, instead of picking something different, because I don't know that civ well enough.
Sorry for the bad english, it's not my native language.
Great video!!
Nice video vipey, hope the best for you and I'm very hyped for this new kind of content you're giving us.
Hope i could see an analysis for the Cumans as i think they are one of the civs that most new and average olayers trend to struggle to play.
Quick and to the point. I really like this new format.
Excellent idea! Would love to see The Hindustanis. Keep up The good work👏
Love these, hope you do more
Hi Viper. Love this new category of vids to watch.
A small suggestion, would love if you slow down the pitch and change the background music. It seems too fast
The idea is that it is a quick introduction to how the civ is played in competitive play, for people that simply don't have time to learn all the civs or want to get a quick idea of how a civ is played, therefore we're trying to keep the pace quite fast so it's something one can get through fairly quickly.
ohhh i'm gonna love this series
finally !!! hope these series go on for a very long time
Great content, always gotta listen when the goat talks the real talk
Awesome subiect. Thank You Viper. Very awesome format!!
Love the format! Congrats on content and editing!
Nice series❤❤🎉🎉 thank you viper
in augmented phonetic-alpha-numerical order the next civ should be SARACENS
Love Aztecs it's one of my three fav civs along Teutons and Japanese
Awesome, suberp! Finally!
Great format! 17/10 :D
Love the vid. Would love a guide on Slavs
Very interesting series! Looking forward to more!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I like to see The Berbers.
Loved the video, looking forward to seeing teh next one!
love this format. really good info
No matter the useless drama I will always remain a Viper fanboy! He’s the only one left with a real head on his head
Let's wait for the Dravidians overview and for the Hera's overview of Viper's overview.
And then Viper overviewing Hera's overview of Viper's overview.
I'd love to see other good civs that might not be picked very often like Sicilians, Bohemians, Gurjaras, and Vikings
This is great. I would have suggesed Burgundians next, but that's just not that simple.
Thank you for the video. I think Aztecs became week. Before you really felt powerful with Aztecs. Now it’s complicated to play them.
A video on the Bohemians would be nice
Now we go to the next in Alphabetical order..... LITHUANIANS :)
this new serieis really cool
Great work!
cam't wait for the Dravidian review
LOVE THIS CONCEPT🎉
Spirit of the Usually
these are great thank you
Would love to see Chinese and your thoughts on them since the nerf. I'm a guy who really struggles with feudal strategy and I feel like i would improve greatly if I could use Chinese better due to their flexibility.
Edit: also maybe a ranking for nomad and/or some team game rankings? I want to get mad next time i play rage because viper gave my civ a D. :)
Love the video series concept! If I could give one bit of feedback, I don’t think the music needs the extra volume in the intro
god that was great, thank you
Great idea, I’m tuned in
Great content serpiente
This feels like a tech tree reaction video. Not my favorite content but I'm clearly not the target demographic.
Great content
there are a lot of good recommendations in the comments, but my opinion is to keep these short and sweet like you have done here
Would like to see that about the Berber
Periodically is a good one to use in place of "usually"
loved this! thanks man
This is what we needed!!
Great video!
I love these vids vipi
The Dravidians of course! 😂
But would also love to hear what you think of the newest ones: Armenians and Georgians.
Can you make a poll to vote for the next civ in the series?
Nice vid man ❤
love this! would love to see Saracens!
how are they on team games? can you add this information for the civ review? most of the noobs like to play with friends (me included)
Future reviews will have TGs mentioned as well. Aztecs are a great flank on closed maps, but not great on open or water maps, nor a great pocket civilization in general.
Maybe also add the weaknesses and how to beat the Civs. usually
Might be a bit rushed but I would like a video about Armenians, being that they are fairly new
in 2 months _(the earliest)_ when this series is finished, I wonder if none will be outdated 🤔
This is also partly why we don't go too heavy into detail, as those small details can change. However, the general approach/playstyle of a civ is still fairly similiar even with changes, so it's unlikely that they'll get outdated very fast unless there are extreme changes.
So they are S tier on closed maps and in dark age. That's why I always wall my base and never advance to feudal age. Easy ELO.
Yaas, love this kind of content
Poles, baby
I have been waiting for this
My favorite civ all time that I just have no idea how to play
I would usually suggest Dravidians but typically I commonly often ask generally about other civs routinely.
Impressive managed to use usually, typically, commonly, generally, and routinely in one sentence
Nice video m8, what do you think about Romans?
Seeing aztecs first, I thought it continues alphabetically. I would say Bengalis next.
Where's the footage with the Wonder from (at about 1:00)? It looks like a campaign, but I don't recognize it.
Can wait to see Dravidians video😂.
Viper got a youtube voice! Next lever.
Give any CIV theviper -- win win.
TheViper really digging into SOTL territory
It's actually a nice complement for more advanced players I would say
If I can give some unsolicited advice: It's a good idea to do this series, but you're not presenting it as a pro player the way you're presenting now. It comes across more like someone doing a weather forecast. While you do have authority on the subject it will come across more strongly when you build on the points you are making with personal anecdotes.
Example: "This is the strength/weakness of civ X" + "This is how you use it when you are good at the game" or "This is how you shouldn't use it". Doesn't matter if it's pro play or rage forest, but real time examples are important in a presentation like this.
It's kinda like spirit of the law could have made this Aztec video and it would have the same result while you could be adding so much more.
I want Italians. Not a high tier but I like them. But I'm just a casual that plays against the A.I.
Nice idea to make this series happen
