    Good evening Sergeant Major Dan and Miss. Elizabeth, we are new subscribers and love the scenery , the fishing and mostly how you interact with each other. I've been through the Keys when I was younger , did some deep sea fishing in the late 80s when I was a teenager , and I remember how long it took to land my Barracuda. We boat and fish in the Niagara River and Lake Erie and Ontario , you guys certainly helped to get through the lingering winter up here. Look forward to more great videos . Sincerely, Brett

      Thank you SO much for subscribing and commenting, Brett!! We really love the feedback and hearing about your experiences too!! Barracuda is not our favorite, but they do give a great fight! Tell us about fishing up there - are you able to get the boat out already, or will it be a few more months? - D&E

      @@FloridaFishingCouple we live in Niagara Falls, so boating and fishing in the Niagara River , Lake Erie and Lake Ontario are very much local and accessible to us. Large and smallmouth bass in the river and Lake Erie, sometimes some Pickerel ( Walleye), and Lake Ontario is more the larger Lake Trout amd Salmon if we ever get to use down riggers. Our favourite is towing the boat up to Muskoka or the Kawarthas for the scenery and bass, Northern Pike and when we are lucky... Musky . We are happy just cruising but usually do find spots for fishing. Georgian Bay is just gorgeous and pretty much any fish species . We are still waiting for the ice flow to finish , but should be out starting next week. You guys are great together and look forward to sharing some great scenery and fishing with both of you. Cheers, Brett and Jessica .

      @@FloridaFishingCouple I was actually wondering what your favourite few fish are for eating , now knowing much on the salt water side of things. For us, just a bit of butter and garlic in the pan with some smallmouth bass filets is amazing. We have seen some of your videos where you prepare some, but have many more to watch . Hope it was 90 deg and perfect in the Keys today , cheers.

    I have a 180 CC wellcraft I put a 36 volt Minn Kota Ulterra on. It can hold the boat within 3 ft of a GPS reading in pretty rough waters, you should consider that for your boat.

    I was wondering what that kind of maintenance would cost? Like bottom coating $200-$300, cable replacement about $300-400, cowl paint $100....but what about annual registration and inspection? And don't you have to have the coast guard inspect the boat also?

    • @FloridaFishingCouple
      @FloridaFishingCouple  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Roland Feroty: So the bottom paint was 1K; annual service and replacement of the throttle cables $800; and the re-painting of the cowling was $375. Ahhh, the joys of boating..... Need a part time job to keep the boat in the water! :-) The Coast Guard inspection is not mandatory, but you are subject to inspection anytime they wish to board your boat. -D

    The worst time of the year for any boater? Sad day? One week? What are you guys talking about lol, all you did was tow it down the street and pay someone to perform annual maintenance on your rig lol.
    If this is the worst time of year for you as a boater then you have it pretty easy ;)
    The majority of boaters either don't have a choice for financial reasons, or sometimes even want to do the work their self, which would have cut your bill more than in half, and those that do have to have someone work on their rig, 1 week turn around is unheard of, try 3 to 8 weeks average turn around
    A normal fishing trip for most around here is a 25, 50, 100, even 200 mile tow down freeways, highways, pulling 7k pound+ 26 to 32 foot boats, 2, 4 sometimes 6 hours on the road, traffic, lines at the ramp, etc.., EACH time they go fishing, just to get to the water.
    You guys are cracking me up, towing it in to have someone else perform the work is the worst time of year lol.😂
    Should have been titled "What most boaters only dream of when it comes to annual maintenance"

    • @FloridaFishingCouple
      @FloridaFishingCouple  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      TxFishin we have done the boat maintenance ourselves for YEARS... I’m talking covered head to toe in black bottom paint, and boat engine fluid... so trust me - we know how fortunate we are that this year we found someone reliable to do the major stuff for us. We used this annual maintenance as an opportunity to support and highlight local businesses. If you watch our channel at all, you’d see that Captain Dan does allllll the other work - replacing transducer, replacing the water pump, lights, you name it! With how much we use our boat, the worst part the year is anytime we have to take it out of the water and be without it. Thanks for your comment and some insight into your perception. -Elizabeth

      @@FloridaFishingCouple Just giving you guys a hard time ;) and show how lucky you guys are, one day without a boat is one day too long, one week turn around for all that work is crazy fast, you have a good service place there no doubt
