- in this video I am replacing a hydro boost unit it was leaking between the master cylinder and unit There was no power steering fluid in the reservoir There were hardly any brakes simple tools to get this job done don't pay a shop $400 to $500 do it yourself
Really good tutorial, able to see every single thing I'm supposed to do, and the subtitles are excellent!
Thank you so much!! 🙏
I love your video it's quick and to the point none of that extra stuff that makes me fast forward the video thank you
Thank you so much!🙏
great help! thank you I will do it myself and save around $300.00 bucks.
I've got a 2010 Chevy Express 5.3 l that needs to have this job done. However, I don't have the time to do it so I will have to pay a shop. Luckily I know a guy who's going to help out and keep the cost down.
Just wanted to let you know this is a very helpful video though.
Thank you so much!!!! That's cool, that someone's gonna help you out for cheaper...but your gonna miss the Beauty of doing it your self 😉 😀 haha ...
Everything you need; nothing you don't. A model for others to follow.
Excellent video my brother! Best
@user-MichaeljFaber thanks brother!
Awesome video!! Thanks for making it. Helped out a ton.
Thank you!!
Very helpful. Thanks!
Hey great video! Can’t seem to find an answer anywhere, but is there an o-ring between the master cylinder and the hydro brake booster? Mine was leaking a lot and I see an indent as if there should be one. But can’t find any information. Same for all the passenger and driver lines removed off the hydro brake booster
there's no o ring between the master and hydro booster boss there's a front seal for the hydro booster and when that fails it causes the boster to leak
Thanks brother happy new year
Good afternoon!!Happy new year to you to boss!! 🎉
Thank you very much
I have a 2011 Chevy Express 3500 van 6.0. It is leaking power steering fluid between the booster and the master cylinder. Is this what needs replaced and is it the same procedure? Thank you for the video.
I have the same problem, was wondering too
It's is the seals inside the hydro booster that are bad. Either rip it apart and fix the internal seals or buy another hydroboost unit
Yes, if there's power steering fluid between master and hydrobost unit, then u have a bad hydrobost unit it will need to be replaced or rebuilt/reseal
My GMC Savanna van's brake pedal is going almost to the floor with no resistance. At the very end there is some brakes.... Is this a symptom of a bad booster?
Also I'm confused- what is the correlation to brakes & power steering??? Sorry to sound clueless... but....
Hi I'm back to educate myself. I learned the power steering system supplies power to the booster, so it can boost.
I stand by my original question though- pedal goes to the floor, with some brakes at the bottom of the pedal.
Also I'm getting "fix brake system" & "service stabilitrac."
My brake lights stayed on after replacing, I measure the pedal rod and the remaned one is shorter by about an 8th inch. Where do you recommend buying a new one? Dealership wants $800!!!
Just the luck of the draw I guess. I don’t recommend the AutoZone brake booster. Car quest one came out great
I want to ask what causes the brakes to grab correctly but once almost to a complete stop they grab and pull then bring the vehicle to a complete stop. I press on the brakes when the vehicle is off and the pedal jumps back up once started. So im thinking the booster is good?
If you apply the brakes when off and then start the car and pedal moves slightly up then it should be good..so when you apply the brakes do they pull the right or left?
Tt
Do you buy any chance know what would cause, The brake pedal once applied and almost to the floor It makes like a vibrating feel in the pedal. Had the same problem before i changed the hydrobooster which was leaking at the petcock.
Do i have to bleed the brake system also at the calipers to get rid of this pulsating feel?. It kinda kicks the pedal back alittle.
Do you have a pulsating brake pedal when applying the brakes when coming to a stop?
Yes after installing the hydrobost unit I add fluid turn the steering wheel to the left and right a couple of times then start the vehicle and turn the wheel again all the way to the left then turn all the way to the right While checking the fluid and press the brake pedal a couple of times and let the vehicle run for a bit ..that's how I bleed the system..
@luckysdiygarage thank you for responding again so late. I didnt expect it. But wow. You the man.
I believe it's his left speed sensor. I got that code and
I also got code B0201. Something about abs relay. I was hoping that meant the abs sensor too. Hoping it's not the abs module. Appreciate you.
@EricTireguy good morning hopefully it is the wheel speed sensor ...
i was looking at a van and the brake pedal hit the floor and it only brakes a lil before the pedal hits the floor
Does the van need to be off the ground to bleed hydroboost system?
What's up Eric.. no it will be fine on the ground...
@luckysdiygarage thank u so much for the fast response. You just got yourself a subscriber. Love the dedication to your viewers. You are the first person whom ever helped me when I needed it. Thank you so much. Alot of times we comment right when we need the help. It goes no where. You are the man. Love how easy u made it look. I been watching so many videos. Subbed up!
Thank you so much!!!🤘
@@luckysdiygarage You deserve it! On of the few no nonsense creators out there that does it for the passion of diy, helping others, & creating content... while clearly not for getting attention, & patting yourself on the back. An obviously humble person who actually deserves attention and clout for that very reason. Keep it coming man! I'm looking forward to learning from you, if you're willing to share.
@@luckysdiygarage come to think of it I've already done this job twice so I already knew what I needed to do but your video was so good. I watched the damn thing anyway and your style alone just made the whole job seem easier.
Buena enseñanza
