With engine work on hold, it's time to get back to building the interior - a much warmer place to be working right now! The next major part of the interior build is the bed, which not only needs to fit, but it also needs to move up and down, so we can access our lower bench seating area. Not ready for all the mechanicals yet, but I can start with the frame, which needs to be put in place and assembled before I can build the last wall!

If you're using the same T-slot profile as I am, (1010 profile from www.fazstore.ca/) you can save yourself some design time by downloading parts that I have created, such as the Nut Slugs, Corner brackets, and internal corners. The collection will slowly grow, so keep checking back! MAKE SURE, if you want to use these, you download the profile shape first to confirm that your T-slot is the same shape as what I used!
I also upload Fuso related tooling that may be useful for you, such as fuel line disconnect tools, and parts that I used when I made my own CP4 fuel pump disaster prevention kit - so make sure you check all the items I have!

I print all of my parts on a basic Ender3 V2 printer with a few upgrades - you don't need anything fancy! I have upgraded the hot end, as well as the extruder so that I can print things like PETG-CF (Carbon Fiber) as well as TPU (rubber). It's not the fastest printer in the world, but it has done everything I have asked of it!

Well I'm a day late to the party. But I have a good excuse. I fell off my RV roof while getting set up to mount my brackets for the 425 watt solar panels I bought for it. My ladder decided it was tired of supporting my efforts and dumped me onto the concrete shop floor.😮😢
Landed on my right hip and ended up spending the afternoon in the ER getting a CT scan to see if I fractured my pelvis. Or have and cerebral blood clots!
The good news is No! But my deep bruises will mean I'll be spending the next week or 2 watching utube all day.
Good to see your warm working inside on the camper again. Fingers crossed the injectors were the issue.
DOH! That’s not how you’re supposed to get down! Hope you heal up quick, and glad to know the damage isn’t too deep! If you run out of TH-cam check out Toyota World Runners - very cool adventures!
I lucked out doing much the same thing. Luckily, I was installing the brackets instead of solar panels, so when my ladder skittered out from under me, I landed on it and the saw horses. I had some nice purple blotches on my left calf and right hip, just above the pelvis, but no blood and no breaks. The middle of the ladder folded to ease my fall. (I had removed the stabilizer for the tree guys to use the ladder, and had forgotten to put it back on.) It's back on now, the ladder is straightened and re-stabilized, and all the panels went up on the house as planned. I healed pretty quickly and hope you do, too, Curtis.
Will do Bruce. My wife drives an 06 4 Runner. 350K miles so far, and it 's a great vehicle. Doesn't burn or leak anything. Runs & drives like a top and still looks new.
She been talking about replacing it with a hybrid 4 Runner when they come out.
LJ, It's good to know I run in a circle of like-minded and cursed souls. :)
LOL, well you can see part of my Landcruiser addiction poking heads out around the shop… and that’s just the ones inside.
Nice to take a break from the frustration of sorting the engine issue and do something that advances the end result in a different way. The lift up bed will be a nice space-saver. Nothing like a bit of progress to provide some encouragement. Just prior to Christmas I rebuilt part of the roof on ours after redesigning it - nothing like a huge hole in the roof to motivate 😱
Hope your Christmas was fun, Happy New Year, and here's to another big year of playing with small trucks!
It is really nice to actually feel like something is progressing, it’s been far too long of getting nowhere! Yikes, holes in roofs are generally not what you want to have, well long term anyway….
Love to see you going back to T slot construction!
"Assemble in place" reminded me of a video I saw awhile ago from someone replacing the fridge in their Class A RV. It was the second time they replaced it - their third fridge. They'd had a dealer do the first replacement. They had to remove the windshield to get the fridge in and out.
For their third fridge, they were going for a counter depth fridge which would fit through the door. But they still had the old fridge, so they chopped it into pieces using a reciprocating saw.
We have a pocket door in our RV that can't be replaced very easily. I think we'd need to remove the fridge and then remove all the wood around the fridge if we wanted to replace the door. Oof.
Ouch - that reminds me of a time I was in a marine certification course with folks from many different boat builders - one very high end yacht builder there and we got into a conversation about fuel tank removal…. Basically, if your tank needed replacing in that boat, the sawzall came out and you had to cut part of the cabin, and then repair it later 😲😲. Yeah, that’s what I want to do to my €5M yacht!! 🤣
@gf2e I just ordered a new rebuild kit for my 37' Fleetwood Class A's freezer fridge.
I am going to convert/ rebuild the Dometic model 3662, FF, this time to a straight 12 volt compressor style fridge freezer. I've rebuilt it twice before now. Both times, I rebuilt it with a 3-way system. Propane, 12 volt and 120 volt. But I have yet to get more than 3 years out of it. I think it's mainly because I use the RV for a movie and break room / reading room in my shop and keep the fridge going 24/ 7 for cold drinks and some occasional snacks. Have been known to scratch bake pizzas out there when the grandson spends the weekend in the shop with me.
And have been known to take afternoon naps in it.
Plus, I put surround sound and a pop-up 53" flat screen tv/ movie monitor in it comes with 2 electric movie theater seats and a killer pop corn machine. :)
So it's a great place to dissappear and turn up the volume.
The injury is slowly getting better. But since we just had a bunch of snow here in Texas, I'm just taking it easy in my office on the computer and live streaming movies on the TV. The fridge parts are supposed to be here from JC Refrigeration my Monday. With any luck, I'll be ready to do a little work on it.
Fun times and getting old isn't for children.
Ya'll take care of yourselves.
NUTS & SLUGS.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR
BRUCE & KRISTA!
Thanks! Same to you!
I see your Canuck Clogs are back, hard at work with you, Bruce. (snort) I'm curious about those diesel geschquirters you sent off, too. Glad you're back on the actual build. That should ease your stresses a bit. Nappy Hoo Year.
🤣 Canuck Clogs 🤣 These ones are just for in the truck to stop the outside slush from mucking up the floor 🤪
Great video. You’re lucky to have a shop to work in. Haven’t been able to keep up with your efforts. Have you ever worked on, replaced or repaired the EGR valve on your truck? Thanx in advance.
Thanks! building a shop was priority when we built the house - it was a “have to” not a “want to”! No, I have not done any work on the EGR.
🤣😅🐿🐿
No idea how many times I’d watched that clip in editing before I saw it 🤣🤣
