Little known fact: Fossilized imprints of Norfolk pine foliage unearthed in the south island indicates that the tree once grew in NZ millions of years ago at a time when it, Norfolk island, and New Caledonia were connected as one land mass forming the tops of the now sunken continent of Zealandia. And i usdd to gather huve pipis and cockles for ftitters every time i crossed over from Okura at low tide. Its a marine reserve now...so you cant take anything...kinda sux. Thats so interedting about Norfolk pines...amazing. I really dont know how old that one would be...but i think it would have to be close to the ageof the cottage? Its pretty big and knarly up close.
