mob really threw us all for a loop when choosing the body improvement club over the telepathy club LMAO thanks for the support on my ep1 reaction everyone!! all of you mob fans seem so kind and i'm excited to upload my reactions to the rest of the show :D
The style of Mob Psycho is so expressive and the entire show is extremely artfully animated, there's almost none of the classic corner-cutting that animated things have to concede to be efficient. It's such a clear labor of love.
The entire ED (which you described as charcoal animation), as well as some scenes with the spirits is actually "paint on glass animation" It's exactly how it sounds, take a pane of glass, put some paint on it, and move the paint around with your finger This is commonly known as one of the most difficult methods of animation in history. The fact that it's used so frequently in Mob Psycho is absolutely incredible
anyone complaining about the art style are missing the point, it's meant to be funny for the sake of being funny, it's created by the guy who came up with OPM and is largely a webcomic. He isn't even really an artist but wanted to tell a story through manga so he did and its hilarious
The anime has to be faithful with the source material. I think people who are complaining about the art style didn't know the webcomic or manga. I know he also made the One Punch Man webcomic.
@@shade2138 yep I too think they miss that part. I think they also get confused when they look up the OPM "Manga" and see the detailed artwork by Murata and don't get its a remake of the webcomic. Not entirely sure but I think initially Murata came to him asking if he wanted to do it officially because Murata loves the webcomic. That might be my brain connecting things wrong but I'm sure that's how the "licensed" manga started
@@osengcaradse3565 nah again you're missing the point, the art style is point on for the mangakas style in drawing it. and he's not an artist - admittedly he's gotten better over the years but he's still not a professional grade manga artist. and yet his stories are good enough that he gets mainstream attention. it's the story that you should be focusing on not the art style.
The studio BONES kept true to the creator’s style, which is why it feels weird. However, they got some of the most famous storyboard artists in the business to create each episode. They put a lot of love into every scene
The artsyle of this anime is key because it's so simplistic it allowed the animators to spend all their time on effects and it shows like in the opening of the first episode
The most of the cases, pople who complains about the animation style of mob psycho doesn't know anything about animation in general. Mob psycho has one of the most fluid animation I've ever seen in anime. The gesture of some characters is so um... Perfect? Sorry i don't know the word in english. Anyways, the quirky art style reflects how crazy the psychic power can get, and that is absolutely awesome. I'm glad you liked this anime.
THIS!! Mob has some of the most fluid and beautiful animation I’ve ever seen, it does take some time to get used to but it’s truly a fantastic display of quality animated shows.
Anyone who complains about the art style I just wanna say, this anime has oil paint on glass animation in both in some episodes and the ending song. And u guys have no idea how that particular style of animation is hard
Honestly without the Body Improvement club I'd rather have Mob continue to be with Reigen instead~ The Telepathy club does nothing and I don't think that will help Mob towards any of his goal while being with Reigen he actually saves life and helps people although he only gets 300 yen per hour~ The Body Improvement club though is perfect for him and the show will explain itself as we go further~
I absolutely LOVE the art style lol it’s unique and fun. Also it’s “ugly” in sense of it purposely done to be “ugly”. Lol I think what I’m trying to get at is the art work on a technical sense is executed excellently, it’s not “ugly” in the way of it looking rushed/lazily done… But yeah, not sure if I’m properly conveying what my point is or not tbh. Lol
The art style is actually pretty good and this anime is very funny and the fight scene is awesome... Btw i hope you will MY DRESS UP DARLING is not a fan service anime i don't know who said that to you but i know you would enjoy that 👌
Those people probably didn't even watched or know one punch man, mob psycho was made from the same person that did one punch man. Also the art style is really different and very simple so that they have more room to improve the quality of the animation that why the animation is amazing (even tho it's the same studio that did MHA the animation is much better than MHA)

While finding someone who loves you for you is an important and good way to go about it. if you have your eyes set on someone who you don't "do it for" it means you don't measure up in some ways. Sometimes its something you can't help, sometimes it's something you can. Obviously this girl likes athletic guys, and she's a bit of a sporty girl too (she plays tennis) so mob, who's heart is set on her, is doing something important. He's not just "goofing off" at the time of his life he can "goof off" at. He's trying to improve himself to be worthy and catch the eye of the girl he likes. It's admirable. Sure she might not deserve him (a complaint i've heard before about her), but for Mob she's the ideal girl. So he wants to be the ideal man for her. Personally I like his mindset. Of course that doesn't mean he'll win her love, he might end up working out and never catching her eye. But he'll be improving himself and making himself more appealing to other girls, and that will be it's own reward eventually. Heck even if it never helps him find someone, improving yourself is a vital skill to learn to live a good life.
idk if you realized but in the opening, its colorless and ass soon as mob and reigen meet, reigens life gets color. in other words, mob brings happiness to reigens life.
Mob Psycho 100 truly has some of the most incredible animation I’ve ever seen. People complaining about the style and that it “looks bad” are completely missing the point that 1. The simplistic art-style allows for more fluid and expressive animation and more creative freedom for animators 2. It uses exaggerated “ugly” expressions to add to the comedy and 3. Art style and animation are NOT the same thing. The fight scenes in particular are some the best in anime, but you’ll see that for yourself soon. Mob is a truly brilliant series, and the art is but one of the aspects that makes it such a great series 💞
The original creator of Mob Psycho 100 and One Punch Man (One) almost quit because he thought his art wasn't good enough. His comedic yet heartfelt storytelling is clearly wonderful though, and I think his unique art style is refreshing to see in anime.
I get why people may complain about the art style but i think Studio Bones did a great job at blending professional anime animation with the simplistic but hilarious original manga art style and they should be praised for that not mocked

I was a bit skeptical about the Art style in the beginning, but it's not really that of a big deal at the end for me. I haven't watched this show like forever because of the same reason, the art style. I just started watching this anime last week. Also the manga he's reading is from One Punch Man(ONE version of OPM).

Everybody needs a body improvement club in their life.
They’re so wholesome and they’re some of the best characters in the show
The funny thing about Reigen is while he does lie to his clients, he always ends up doing exactly what they need from him
I like how reigen gets character development and a backstory in season 2, then you start to appreciate reigen more

As long as the chapters go and you get to see how aware Mob actually is, is what makes the character so interesting.
