Good video but you HAVE TO fix the John Adams as an Anti Federalist thing. He was a strong Federalist!!!! Why not use Thomas Jefferson there? He is perhaps the most famous Anti Federalist. Please fix!
This lesson is very well done and easy for my high school Government classes to understand. Like others in the comment section, I would appreciate an edited version that identifies John Adams as ABSOLUTELY a Federalist. The old fashioned "Jefferson v. Adams" mantra might work. Otherwise, keep up the good work!!
REPRESSED TEARS I agree it was that way BEFORE the anti-federalist stepped in and said they won’t sign unless they include a bill of rights because even the states had a bill of rights. I side with the anti-federalists.
You missed Richard Henry Lee of Virginia being a signer of the Declaration of Independence and Anti-Federalist. His importance seems to be scrubbed from history.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
ya my civis teacher gave this assignment to us..
1:47 John Adams was a Federalist, not an Anti-Federalist. He was the only Federalist president.
He was technically a Democratic-Republican, which was an off shoot party of the Anti-Federalists.
@Amanda Fisher That was John Quincy Adams. His father was a member of the Federalist Party as president.

For: Wanted a strong central government to keep the country running smoothly
Against: The constitution is very similar to the king

This didn’t age well. The Anti federalists were right

You could say he was extreme-Lee important to the creation of the Declaration of Independence.

But James Maddison wrote the bill of rights
im confused
if the anti feds were against ratifaction why did the approve on the constitution 😯
KeeweeKT because the federalists added the bill of rights to make them believe their rights wouldn’t be infringed by a strong government
Which to be honest was a good move. Problem is the Bill of Rights does not protect us from a strong government...judging from the issues of today.
they believed that a bill of rights would retain the doctrine of "State Sovereignty". In other words they wanted Slavery to be protected.
@@johnhumphrey9953 No they didn’t want federal government tyranny. There were more anti federalist abolitionist than federalist abolitionist

Classifying John Adams as an anti-federalist is problematic, to say the least.
Well put together.
Thanks for helpful video
