When the album comes out, I'll probably like this one a lot less IN COMPARISON to the other songs. The good thing about this band is the fact they sell a lot of records which keeps metal out there in the mainstream. Every band deserves to get paid and if FFDP does well so do the other metal bands. That's how it has always worked.
Say that to bands like Once Human, Eleine, Nekrogoblikon... FFDP's success hasn't done a thing for them. There is a bit of truth to what you said, but not every band will gain success just because FFDP does... And I disagree with the part about "every band deserves to get paid". Some are really bad and have no business in the music industry. I'll not list any, I don't want to deal with people getting butt hurt. A single band's success helps the genre that they play, but not necessarily the other bands that play similar styles. If they REALLY wanted to help out other bands that haven't had the same success they have, they'd be headlining tours with younger, unknown bands as their openers.

His voice then was absolutely breath taking and now since he started with FFDP it's like hes wanting to be another Phil Anselmo. Granted, I know he has his own unique vocals, but I can hear Anselmo in his voice distinctly.

The good thing about this band is the fact they sell a lot of records which keeps metal out there in the mainstream. Every band deserves to get paid and if FFDP does well so do the other metal bands. That's how it has always worked.

Say that to bands like Once Human, Eleine, Nekrogoblikon... FFDP's success hasn't done a thing for them. There is a bit of truth to what you said, but not every band will gain success just because FFDP does... And I disagree with the part about "every band deserves to get paid". Some are really bad and have no business in the music industry. I'll not list any, I don't want to deal with people getting butt hurt. A single band's success helps the genre that they play, but not necessarily the other bands that play similar styles. If they REALLY wanted to help out other bands that haven't had the same success they have, they'd be headlining tours with younger, unknown bands as their openers.

Glad there are fans who enjoy their sound. I like their every album up to "wrong side of heaven vol2"- i only remember battleborn from that album. But it dissapoints me that they refuse to evolve and spice up their sound. I know they have it in them, just can't bring it out.
No they did for Got Your Six and I was not a fan of some of the songs from that album. A first considering I love all their songs on each album previous.
This is really just my own perspective on the matter, but I really wish that ivan would go back to the voice he had with Motograter. His voice then was absolutely breath taking and now since he started with FFDP it's like hes wanting to be another Phil Anselmo. Granted, I know he has his own unique vocals, but I can hear Anselmo in his voice distinctly.
