  • Since 2004, Heroism as a theme has been an integral part of the Precure franchise. Nearly 20 years later, somebody may have turned the whole genre on its head.
This is the Second Half of my Cure Sky review; an analysis of Sora Harewataru from Hirogaru Sky Precure. It would cover the events of Sora's story starting from HiroPre Episode 24; how, through some of the most intricate and insightful writing yet seen in Precure, Sora secured her place in the franchise's incredible history.
If you haven't seen Part 1, I highly recommend watching it first through the link below to get the full context!

Disclaimer: Expect lots of audio issues- I truly tried my best to minimize them, and I apologize if my voiceover sounds bad at certain parts.

6:12 to 6:22 Honestly this might be the biggest problem with Nagisa in the OG series in that for the most part she never really has any of the flaws the story says she has. Her only consistent flaw being her lack of self esteem. Although ironically that might end up being part of why she ended up being one of my favorite leads.

Soracchi really is a hero, both inside and out! And she's my hero too, the one that redefines about what a real hero means to me: brave, cool, awesome and strong but also compassionate, empathetic, sympathetic, lovable and selfless to everyone in the universe! She may be that in a cape, but she also has imperfections, adjusted and adapted things that are new to her and learned them by heart.
I really owe to her as well as Mashiron, Tsubasa-kun, Ageha and Ellee for being among my comfy characters all throughout the last year and do appreciate them so much that I just can't put into words. They're not just a team or gang, they're family, a heroic family that saves the universe from the darkness that believes in full strength is everything! I'm forever grateful to these guys all throughout this bumpy but very soaring journey and now I return the favor by cosplaying Majesty in cons to keep their legacy alive and kicking (yep I gotta side note on this hehe). 🥰
As I said both on my podcast show and socials that the leaders are my primary favorites in PreCure and Sky is no exception! The very first blue and otherworldly leader who breaks boundaries and hurdles with her exceptional yet amazing courage, and touches and inspires so many people no matter the circumstances. Hats and scalps off to you for tirelessly making this wonderful (pun unintended) appreciation and analysis video of our soaring hero gal! And also shout out again to Akira Sekine for nailing and slaying Soracchi off the park from start to finish, and in All Stars F! 🥳 I'm pretty excited for a hero's comeback in the Wonderful movie, so yeah looking forward to see the hero and the witchy fams once more there. 😃

I think a lot of people misunderstand Dark Sky. It was really more a deadly upgrade than a corrupted form.

For me, the way the show presented it leans toward corruption as the intent. With how Sky's soul was slowly consumed, Darkhead controlling her, etc.
But you raise a great point; the magic is certainly a power up that came with really bad side effects. It's why Sky's triumph is so satisfying, because her intellect prevented power from turning her into a monster. And she knew that it would, thus she had no problem with having to fight the corruption.

@@CureChronos It seems to be implied that Undergu energy itself isn't inherently evil, just poisonous to those not of the Undergu Empire. I saw as her shift in demeanor when become dark Sky as more a result of the fact that she was in pain and the form was slowly killing her. She never actually starts acting evil until Skearhead possess her. That's the way I see.
