- Hey, I just reached 50h of playtime and I wanted to give my thoughts about the archetypes you have access to in the mid game. Feel free to give your opinions in the comments, the game is still fresh and I could be wrong about a lot of things.

This video garnered more attention than expected. Thanks a lot! 🙏 Is there anything you guys want me to talk abt next?
More diverse archetypes? Maybe a focus on the faker?
no spoilers but you want Hulkenberg to be the one to master the entire knight line for sure
Thats what I did. But some people might not like her and play knight on someone else, like strohl. also meta matters less for people playing on normal mode.
@@acwano I mean its useful for something you get late game, and her stats are built for it anyway
@@cal5365 Yes I know what youre talking about, thx for not spoiling publicly tho, I appreciate it! I didn't know about it at the time of recording. But yeah, her stats are built for it so its an obvious choice.
@acwano what's meta? I use her as a healer on the hardest difficulty and doing just fine.
honestly if you keep hulkenBerg as a healer she survives and keeps everyone up very very well
Put Strohl on Assassin with Slash Boost and AoE Slash attack from Sword Master. When he gets lvl 20 assassin skill he becomes super MP efficient. Also I suggest getting Brawler/Pugi on Hulk for the Debuff strike move. My Hulk had Magic Knight with shield arts and the defense debuff move from pugi. I kept my MC as a General/Mage for support and synthesis. My Heismay went all in for Gunner.
I just hit 61hrs into the game. Am about lvl 60. Game is super fun, also nice video I will subscribe
General/Mage MC is also the way to go for me. makes sense since your first 2 party members are physical oriented
@@acwanoand with the help of Merchant tier 2 ,, u can make a Promising combo with General or Mage late game 👍🏽
Ive had the merchant mastered on the MC for a while now so thats good to hear. I should be unlocking the tycoon soon.
I would say maxing the archetypes line they start with is important like Knight for Hulkenberg and Thief for Heismay. But I wouldn't say you need Knight to win any fight in the game. But there are follower rank reasons.
The upgraded taunt skill that the paladin gives u access to makes some fights sooooo much easier. it allows you to negate a lot of damage. But you're right, its not literally necessary.
Damn, already 50h. Thanks for the info!
I liked your video because you're the only TH-camr right now giving advice about midgame who actually reached mid game. Everyone else puts midgame in their title but they haven't even left Martira lol
Thanks! yeah 3 days later now im reaching the end game. I'll upload an updated version after I unlock all the archetypes!
Heismay easily becomes the strongest tank in the game once you get to his 3rd (elite) thief archetype. Slap on him the basic knight's proclamation (don't use the advanced one since it blocks, which prevents evasion) and his evasions will sap all of your enemies' turn crystals.
Managed to perfect win a few bosses for the juicy reward bonus using evasion shenanigans. Since i use him exclusively as a tank and don't need his attack abilities (ohk moves kinda bad since there's nothing boosting the chances, steal's still good though) I slap on the lucky find passives on him instead *hint*.
Yeah dodge tanks are always fun to play, but it does take some time before you can get there so I didnt include it in a mid-game guide. Thanks for letting me know it can be a reliable option tho!
Luck boosts the chances of ohk as well as multi hit moves that hit 2-4 times hitting a higher amount of times on top of crits, status effect chances, etc.
Heismay is by far the best character in the game at end game because of his ability which only he gets which removes all turns from the enemy when he dodges. Some bosses get 8-10 turns which without this ability your just hoping you survive.
I gave Hulkenberg commander skills for the x2 atk/def buffs + aoe healing from healer so she's broken as fuck. I definitely think there are some archetypes that are better for getting skills to use on the main ones.
Yeah the healer and commander lineage give you a lot of good inheritable skills! I like to play the general as a main tho cuz it has really good synthesis skills.
My favorite thing to do was put the paladins on my tank, use the skills that increase max hp, halves damage and call it a day
Yeah lol the paladin is so broken, you never die.
I find the Knight lacking in any type of attack so I'm adding Brawler/Warrior to Hulk's forté for their inheritances
Oh yeah, 100%, I gave her some gunner attacks cuz the tank is often in the backrow in this game. Although later, when you unlock the magic knight, you will get more offensive options outside of synthesis skills.
The faker extra turns, mp donation and 2lvls of atk/def down carried me on the final boss fight
Yeah, like I said, Faker is one of the best archetype in the game, I mastered it on Junah. How reliable is the extra turn skill? I havent used it as much so far.
@@acwano I feel like it's based on luck, but I don't have any hard data, but it failed a lot(50-60%) at lower levels and got better results by the end of the game it failed 10-30% of the time . But I definitely had 2-3 extra turns at the start on every fight and got 2-3 success chains. Specially useful gambling as the last turn play
yeah it sounds like an insane move to end the turn with. i'll keep that in mind thanks
What's kinda annoying about some of these classes is that you gotta have something totally different to get the advanced ones. I recommend using a mastered archetype on your characters so you can simply dope yourself through undesired classes, like wizard Hulkenberg.
Yeah thats why I do, and I keep the party members I dont currently use on a mastered archetype to feed me hero leaves thingies. Took some time to get samurai Strohl.
Right there with ya lol 50 hrs in. 50 hrs brothers.
Keep up the grind brotha!
bro when i save the game and quit and come back my save is deleted
Are you playing on steam? maybe there was an issue with the cloud. Ive dealt with that before, it suuuuucks.
I build hulkeberg to be brawler, cuz she have a lot of health, and also i learn taunt skill from knight and put it on brawler, it's good tho
Im sure it works but lemme give you some info you might know yet.
-The brawler skills scale like the physical skills in persona, which means they cost a % of your hp and take into consideration your remaining hp (for dmg) in percent too. So building full hp isnt bad but it isnt a super synergy either.
-The brawler class cannot equip the heavy armors, which are extremely strong. They usually have defensive passives and are meant to be put on your tank.
But hey, the most important thing is to have fun, stick to what you like!
@acwano damn i miss on that one broo, you're right, i just think on simple way cuz lossing hp is way more cheaper that losing mp(hp potion on refantazio cheap AF),thats why i use monk especially whn u play with hard, but u make me realize the monk is using percentage, my bad I'll renew my statement, using monk for her still risky then, but I'll say it,it become worth it if u buy bunch of hp potion on discount day:p
I cleared the game on hard without a healer so its not that mandatory
You can clear the game with any archetype in the game. I still consider the healer archetype to be very valuable since it allows you to inherit very valuable skills like a revive, heavy healing, a debuff cleanse and ailment recovery. If you beat the final boss without any of these then you probably dont need any guide😂.
heismay on gunner no better optiondude is a beast
Sounds good to me, I have the gunner and brawler skills on strohl to make him hit on all 3 physical types.
@@acwano keep strol on sword master hehtis like a tank for early game dungeons thank me lter keep heismay gunner with steal and heisenberg a healing knight support main character keep mage and dump magic points the masoluem sucks for physical hits only bad spot
@@MULTIPLANGOD I am way past early game dungeons lol, and I did keep him on sword master, I just said that I gave him gunner/brawler skills. For example, getting lvl 3 on gunner gives u access to a medium pierce dmg skill. Which can be useful on the sword master. It helped me a lot during the early and mid game for hitting enemy weaknesses more often.
@@acwano thnx gonna try that give him some pierce skill!!!! what would mid game be u think??????
@MULTIPPANGOD I would say Mid game is the port city arc, the virga island arc and the arc after that. But maybe it ends at virga, i still havent finished the game to see the full picture.
I keep losing , I can't make it to necromancer in enough time and I'm barely doing any stuff in town. I make it tto the miniboss right before him and I have lv 13 mage warrior knight and still get destroyed. apparently i fucekd up cause i snuck around the dragon . now I lost the game and it made me go back 5 days before time limit, wondering if I can still save it at lv 11 all characters , thinking about doing brawler healer knight , my last group just got its ass kicked nonstop. honestly stressful asf how u get rushed thru the game
I also made the same mistake and didnt grab the fire sword, which helps a lot against the zombies summoned by the necromancer. But dont worry you can still beat him. I recommend switching the MC from mage to healer for the light magic and healing spells that help a lot against Zorba ( you can also just inherit healer skills on your mage). The trick is to never let more than 1 zombie alive at the same time because after summoning 2 of them, he enrages them and they start doing double damage. The zombies are weak to light and fire magic iirc. If you are truly stuck, there is no shame in lowering the difficulty just for that fight if you dont wanna waste any days. If you dont mind, just leave the dungeon and do stuff like buying better gear etc.., it will also replenish all of your MP which could help. Good luck !!!
@@acwano thank you for your perspective. Ill give it a go. Dont want to give up on this masterpiece of a game.
@@wakaboomnick put it on easy, no shame in that either. Just have fun
@@wakaboomnick inherit the group healing spell on your mage and lower the difficulty, you should be good!
i am at the last month of the game on hardmode & the game becomes infinitely harder if you go back to do some quests you missed.
i am level 56 and the enemies are level 65
party is knight/general hulk, mage mc, strohl warrior/pugi and a specific party member healer
Sounds very promising! What are your favorite archetypes so far? (except the merchant build everyone talks about)
@@acwano i actually never used the merchant job since you can just transfer mag to gold at a high exchange rate
The Paladin/Warlord build is a must on hardmode imo and Hulkenberg is the best party member to use it
@BasedSempai Merchant increases your items gain too not just gold
@@BasedSempai Do you mean paladin and warlord on the same person or just having these two archetypes in your team comp? I do say in the vid that the knight and commander lineage are a must.
@@acwano on the same person 100%, it's so broken
Im like 1 week behind u and having only 25 hours and i did anything the Game has to offer how am i that fast ok lul no im 3 weeks behind hat lvl 31 and 28hours seems like i grinded a bit too much
Idk lol im someone who like to take his time. I also had 12h on the demo which transfered to the full game. I also abuse the restart fight button to try to get the 50% extra exp.
Knight gets a lot less usefull late game where every boss just constantly spams AOE
@@zamaskowany12 3 days later now and I see what you mean. But those bosses also have occasional single target moves, if the aoe dmg puts your less tanky members at low hp, you dont want them to also tank that rare single target attack. But youre right about it being less useful
