The 3 main reason why this is the best game in the Sims franchise: 1)Story Mode, 2)Multiplayer 3)Control your sims with the analog and not by clicks. Why don't they bring those things back? This game was honestly ahead of its time!
Wow how did I forget about that? it was honestly one of my favorite features the fact that your food could change your mood, been able to make pizza and use fish from your fishbowl was amazing!

They did bring it back, the third person/analogue control anyway in the sims 3 for the Nintendo Wii. Sadly it was the only one the other versions like ps3 were controlled by clicking and no third person control. Sims 3 Wii is also two players but not in the way we wanted.
i find it easier to click on every action. much easier to queue tasks rather than having to walk up to all of the things 1 by 1. and sims have autonomy they can take care of themselves for the most part, granted you can turn autonomy off in the modern games

Used to play this the moment I woke up around 8 am all the way to 10 pm and remember feeling fine and just happy. Now I tried to play it again, it was fun but after 2-3 hours my eyes, my neck and my back hurt from sitting too long :') I hate growing old.

Abdou Nino Crb i prefer to play it on the computer, I like it way more, but still it was a pretty cool experience to play it on ps2 cuz u could play multiplayer and it was very fun!!
Here's one weird thing about this game that I remember: When you got to design your character there was no choice for what stage of life your character was in but there was a regular adult and another that was the same exact character model except they had wrinkles and age spots. Sometimes I wouldn't even notice until I started changing my characters clothes. The only way to change it was to randomize your character and hope you didn't get a person with the wrinkles and age spots.
This makes me so nostalgic. Its clearly an old game and newer installments have improved but one thing that the PS2 sims games did better than other games was letting you directly control your sim with the joystick, not just click on the ground to make the sim go there. It was a lot more immersive and honestly just controlled better because the sim would never get stuck or glitched because of terrible pathfinding/AI. I wish they would use that again.

The best trick to make friends in this game is it to invite people over then call them to sit in the pool or couch then place an object so they cant get out then sit there with your sim, they will start talking automatically and they wil become your friends so fast. For Example buy the hot tub go in it, call the sim you want to have as a friend over and when he gets in, place an object where he got in, that will make him be unable to get out of the hot tub and now your sim and the other one will talk with each other and the social points will go up to 100, after that just remove the object, the other sim will get out and home and do it with the next one, you can also do it with more then 1 sim just fill up the whole hot tub with sims and place objects so they cant get out they will talk automatically

I played Pets & Castaway for the PS2 a lot as a kid, those were my first sims games. I then bought this second handed and was so disappointed to find out that the disc was in bad shape and the game was pretty much broken, I could only get through the create-a-sim menu.
Sims 2 in ps 2 is the only sims game that you can play it as a third person rpg rather than as a “god”. But you still can play it as a “god”/usual sims game by toggling R3 on your right analog stick then a “spotlight/highlighter” (which works like a pointer/cursor on pc) will appear and you can move it with left analog stick.
This is one of the best games they've ever created. The only The Sims where we can actually control the Sims. It marked my childhood, and the quality of this video is impeccable, it's like I was playing!

Great memories playing this game for hours on end. I was never able to finish story mode for some reason, though. I think it had to do with the fact that the game was in English and I hadn't the foggiest idea what was going on at times.
