I once asked a class of ten year olds to write about their “special place”, where they could just “be” and feel good for a while. Every single one of them knew what I meant. Another time, a six year old told me that she sometimes liked to just sit in the garden and think about how beautiful the world is; her schoolteacher had been concerned about her being “distracted” in class 💖.

Not Terrence McKenna, Carl Jung, Allan Watts, C.K. Ogden, Nietzsche? J. Campbell is intro level and to be respected and absolutely knowledgeable; this in which I mean opening the world of possibly for the common and introductory theological thought process. Subjective you're comment and I see that truth. Keep diving deeper into the well of knowledge. Much love 🙏

@@phenolicresinoid Thank you for the kind words. That’s where I am at , entry level. Trying to find the starting path to “ The great work. “ I’ve resisted for a while because I felt I wasn’t ready and wanted to understand more about it. Not having a mentor guiding the process is hindering me some , but a small obstacle that will be removed when the time is right. I enjoy researching different subjects but when I find something I really sink my teeth into , I have to see what the detractors also say. A form of oppositional research , so I’m not getting all my information from one source. I really enjoy Manly P Hall’s lectures. I know what Mr.Cambell says publicly , I can’t fathom his talks behind closed doors. As I believe he is just barely touching on different aspects. Remarkable man!

@@juniorboyd6974 I agree with you….Joseph Campbell is one of the wisest person who walked the planet. He’s my hero! If you read Alan Watts works, you will see he was influenced by JC that’s why they became good friends. In fact, during some of his lectures Watts would bring up JC who was influenced by Jung, Schopenahuer, Joyce, Mann and Neitzsche. So if you are interested in his works it will lead to you many more of the great wisdom of our times!

I love these video snippets as reminders of Campbell’s teachings. The Hero’s story is the story of each of us. Campbell is a Western Lao Tzu. A Buddha.

Witnessing the subtle breeze Take The Leaves Into An Enchanting Dance Breathing In The Dew From The Rain. I Feel As Though I’ve Found My Sacred Place Without Truly Acknowledging It’s Reality. Oh man, this is so important! I am blessed in that I am a Blacksmith. I have this very special place that I've always called "My Sanctuary" My Blacksmith shop! I listen to music all day, I have hot iron in the forge, I play my Harmonica all day. Nothing and no one can touch me there. It is MY place of Bliss. If you don't have a Blacksmith around you are in the "Stone Age". Blacksmith lives matter. Find your local Blacksmith and find out what I am talking about. I have coined a new phrase...."Localism not Globalism" Create a network of around you of Craftsmen, Tradesmen, Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers, Farmers. Our society has been in decline for a long time and our dependence on Countries who want us to fail is the reason we are in this mess. Self Reliance (in as much as possible) is the key to survival. I was hit hard in 2009. Lost almost everything. My wife and I have rented our entire lives. We realized that if we didn't own some land , somewhere, then when it happened again we would be homeless. We bought a 1.5 acre plot of land 6 years ago. We are almost finished building our "Mountain Timber Lodge Cabin" from lumber I milled myself made with tools I made with my own hands. The greatest adventure of our lives. Almost finished and it's "debt-free". My heart goes out to all of you. Take care of yourself and your family first. Have a network of people to support each other and then go Rock it! Forget what anyone else is doing. Do what you can and have a wonderful life. Walk on the beach, play some good music. Bring love and light into this world. By God we need it.

What commands the demand of this dreadful dream?
    Black night nears rushing in
    like a hunted mare
    Shivering beside an obsidian abandonment
an abyss below memories tragic hiss
    Slung sleep drunk eyes
up to a slithering synapse ceiling,
    a white flash collapses on
    a desire for darkness divine
    sparks a sudden surrender inside
    sharpening the sight
    aiming alien senses,
    instinct is alive.
    A voiceless word wails.
    And it asks,
"you - there sleeping, do you wish to know, the revealing?"
No. Shut up. I am busy. Leave me alone. I have work in the evening.
I could go below back to the places I know
I could go on out to the streets underneath
I could hold closed the door
I could frown, scream and falter
I could catch the bus back to the past
could ship out my letters, my never-quite there
I could hang up my scuffles, my fights, my wishes and
    then,
I could step into a clear breadth of day,
a shivering sudden thing I would hope
to come upon me, and gift me, grant me
that, that flavour, or taste that life, in it's lingering
had lost it's grace, it's style, it's cool,
all the sights and senses of that perfect peculiar afternoon
...moments, moments burn those damn quotes,
    hand me my boots
hit the cold rough road I am in the search of my soul,
    the hunting horizon heralds henceforth,
death does await while life thou opens
    it's gate...
