Speaking of a right handed bat , i really wish the fed sox would have picked up Harold Ramirez , in 2022 he played about 120 games with tampa in 400 at bats he hit .313 with 12-15 homers . He has a helluva good arm from right field can plah 1st base and dh . Carreer .286 hittter with decent power . The more he plays the better he does . On short stints not so much but with casas conming back and the nationals 14 games out of it i think the sox coukd get harold for a decent price and have him hit against leftys if not full time .heck they gave dalbahch more than 2 full seasons and he couldnt stop ks . Ramirez is a good player . I watched him play for the caimenes from behind the plate at rentaria stadium a dozen games . Hes a contact hitter and will work some walks . My 2 cents cause hes like 27 yo and has experience hitting .286 with about 1000 abs in mlb . Nats arent making playoffs and have a bunch of outfielders already . If boston was paying attention they could have got him for cheap like the nats did . Just because he had a rough start in about 15 games .

I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for Casas, he will be lucky to return by September. They could use a starting pitcher the most, right handed power bat would help also.

Too bad the sox didnt pick up harold ramirez who hit .313 in 400 abs and tampa let him go on waiver and the nats who are 14 games out got him for cheap. I watched him a dozen games from 1st row between the circle and plate and he can hit has a great arm . Righty righty .

Right handed bat: Justin Turner. His stats are down, but he was solid with the Sox last year. His presence in the clubhouse is good, and I think if he is back where he is comfortable and he is playing in meaningful games he will produce.

Where does he play? Platoon at DH with Yoshida? Do you DFA smith?

@@BachBeethovenBerg Smith will likely be DFA once Casas returns. I could see the Sox doing a DFA of Bobby Dalbec to make room on the roster. Probably send Westbrook down to Worcester to get a spot on the active roster. You still have both Hamilton and Romy for second.

And yes. I see a DH platoon with Yoshida as well as the occasional game at first when Smith / Casas needs a break.

@@brentbell7235 I wonder if you include Valdez in some sort of package to get either a RH bat or SP.

@@BachBeethovenBerg I am not a GM, but the Sox have a log jam in the middle infield - especially second base.
In addition to Grissom, Valdez, Hamilton, Gonzalez, Westbrook, Rafaela, and Story… the Sox have players such as Lugo, Sogard, and Yorke who will be Rule 5 eligible in December. That does not include others such as Mayer and Meidroth and perhaps Campbell who could be in next year’s mix.
They cannot keep them all, so I think they need to start thinning sooner than later… why not move some of them if it gets a rental who can help this year’s team?
