It's a different vibe when a showroom for furniture is a real house. Converting houses into showrooms make choosing furniture really easy because you know how it will look and feel in a room
What a great idea by the owner of this property to convert it into a show room/resto. The retro exterior will be very cozy when finished with their top quality furniture.👌 😀 🇵🇭
Philippine local made products are really nice... I feel like almost 90% Filipinos had a rattan chair on their house 😅 I love all the furnitures that were featured here... I live in Pasay but didn't know this shop... Thanks for showing this to us
I used to live in Pampanga during my elementary years and everytime we passed by Betis (one of the town), i loved seeing how they made and displayed these furnitures in front of their shops. Such beautiful craftmanship!
approve! and very durable as well. a rattan living room set i bought in zambales when i was stationed in subic bay as an active duty navy sailor in 1990 until shutdown still exists today and still being used! it has outlasted the cushions and been changed a couple times already!
Yes Mike quite a number of houses/properties like that in Bacolod and also in Iloilo. That house reminds me of my grandparents' place in Jaro ,iloilo....next time you swing out to Negros, check out the heritage houses in Silay.
Since time immemorial, the Pampangueńos are known as the best craftsmen in the Philippines. The Adriano furnitures are best known too in Metro Manila for their fine furnitures.
Beautiful place , i like the design of all furniture modern with touch of traditional Filipino design, I myself just finish my house constructions n refurbished some of my furniture to look new..
Good choice on the fabrics Nelly! You want texture so it won’t look too white and beige from afar. Fabrics and texture go together. I love Filipino furniture. The materials are one-of-a-kind and I dream of my home filled with Philippine furniture. I love the wicker chairs and the kitchen table. I hope I can visit this place when I come back to Manila.
Thank you for supporting Philippine made furnitures. You're very lucky to be able to purchase the furnitures that are actually being exported in Europe and America. Well done. Thank you for promoting our Philippine products and culture. 🙌❤
So glad you both fascinated with the native furniture. Back here in england they love native products. It cost a fortune to have a native chairs, that is why most houses got leather furniture. What you have shown on the video are all beautiful. Looking forward seeing all finish products, cant wait to see peanut jumping on the native furniture. Stay safe & god bless!
these kinds of furniture has a special place in my heart because of my father and my childhood memories he once used to work from a well known world class furniture making company here in the Philippines and these furniture are like a time machine during that years when I am growing up on our old house thanks for this vlog and big credits to the people behind this furniture company they are indeed a world class masterpieces 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
We used to have almost the same chairs (weaved type) during our pre-teens and what I love about it is it is comfortable to sit and cool to one's buttom. Even our double decker bed where the banig or sleeping mat is laid was onced weaved type and so it was cool to sleep as air is circulated and no heat is retained.
I love those timber bedding... Your home will have that warm cottage feel to it. Those Burlap fabric is definitely the way to go, you can't go wrong with natural material. OMG! If you are going to have a wall bar. I will contribute to your liquor collection! 😛
Good choice comfy furniture. I have 50 years old suliya chairs too ,no nails at all but durable. Made of suliya with combination of narra wood. Good investment for this kind of furniture. 👍
that house reminds me a lot of my grandparents' and grandaunts and uncles' houses in the province, particularly the ones built around the 50's and 60's. our own house here in Metro Manila is very similar to that house, with some modern touches of course since it was built in the '80s ,but the window grills, the wide open Floorplan, light and bright feeling, lots of trees and plants in the yard, it's very reminiscent of what a family home is like in the province in the 50s specially back when large Families were a thing hence the big spaces.
That's a nice ancestral house. The owner of which is old money in the Philippines. The floor is made of Philippine hardwood and I presumed that house was erected in the late 40s or early 50s.
There's a lot of that on the famous Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan. Next time without pandemic try to go there and see the enormous history of the Philippines
Philippine-made furniture, especially from Cebu and Pampanga, commands hefty prices in Europe and other parts of the 🌏. You may also find the best wood carvers in Paete, Laguna.
lots of old houses in Pasay and spacious too, good that they didn't tear it down and repurposed it instead. One thing you will notice in the old houses is how it uses light and allows ventilation, perfect for the heat. Good choice going for the custom furniture, beats Ikea.
It’s great that you are supporting local products and manufacturers. Quality production and design. I bought a $1200 crappy wood table from west elm and nowhere near that level of quality work.
thanks for featuring such a nice, cozy place, they have beautiful furnitures ,you really have good taste, the rattan is perfect for your condo,i love the table wd solihiya.nice vlogs as always.take care,be healthy, happy and safe,GOD bless.
Hi Mike & Nellie, There are more places in the Philippines to explore that wiill amaze you. Obviously this is one of them. My brother got the same kind of furniture but in a different design. They are classic & yet modern. These woods are solid. It will last a lifetime. Definitely, they're heirloom pieces of furnitures. Enjoy!
I'm envious. You get to have your home furniture made to your specifications. That's like going to a tailoring or dressmaker's shop and have your clothes made just for you. When we were young growing up in the Philippines we didn't really appreciate that. Now that we live away from the country and we have matured, we miss that lifestyle very much.
Wow yes cozy furniture but elegance touch nice choice nelly and mike. thanks for supporting locals. Proud from Pampanga here MABALACAT CITY. KAPAMPANGAN always like beautifull things from clothes, foods, looks..
The architect doesn't need a rulerl to draw his ideas. Wow I think those architects went to UST or UP. Can they raise the back so I would be able to lean and relax my back/ spine, hahaha Hello to you all from Spain, which is now relaxing its restrictions. Hope to travel to that beautiful country in a couple of months' time. Thank you for this wonderful video!
Hi mike and nelly. You made feel very homesick. Iam here in Australia and been longing to go home since last year. I miss my grandparents’ place. Really there is no better place like Home. Maraming Salamat. God bless. Enjoy life. 😉
Mike and Nelly, you can actually have those furnitures be your business too for export to Austria if you can just make some connections in your country... for sure you'll get a market there for such furnitures in Austria. Just an idea. :)
Those fabrics will be heaven for peanut 😜. Since you have everything custom made, maybe you can ask them to make a cat tree for peanut to climb and scratch on 😍.
Very cool video Mike and Nelly my parents know someone that is a furniture maker and even restores them to those re good furniture choices for your new condo
So jealous! When I went back in the 90's it wasn't as easy to ship things overseas directly from the furniture makers. Is the big circular table in 2 pieces? It looks fairly heavy. I love this video ... Don't touch your eyes, Mike!
I wish to ask you which I will ask also George and Lucy, what are places to visit for foreign seniors on tour? Like 65-75 who are relatively fit but still can't do stuff like long walks, hikes, getting in and out of small boats balancing on a thin plank. I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
The rantan chairs are really nice during the Spanish time here the ratan chairs are the most beautiful furniture here but still until now is the most beautiful Filipino furniture.Yes! Pampanga is also known for making beautiful wood furniture. You can also visit the town of Paete Laguna that town is also known for wood furniture also after the bubble lock down try to visit the town of Paete Laguna.
If you notice older big houses in the Philippines (ancestral houses), a lot more work is concentrated on the airflow of the houses. Ceilings are very high so heat stays away and indoor walls are not fully built up to the ceilings so the heat gets blown out of the house with no obstruction. Also, huge windows are built even to the point where the windows have a sliding bottom section to open basically the whole wall for more airflow. You get a nice country breeze! All ancestral houses have these common designs. In today's houses, not much attention is given because one can just get air conditioners. The bad part is that if you have a power outage and these modern houses become an oven.
Is that behind the Henry Hotel in Manila? I think it’s in Pasay as well. Super cute and clean old colonial style hotel (great food!) and there are old houses just behind it with a beautiful garden too.
If I remember correctly, the best furniture makers are from the town Betis. Thank you for featuring this business and helping local manufacturers.
We've done a docu about Betis furniture several years back. Owners were perfectionist.
There are many houses like that here in New Manila, Q.C.. Lots of very old mango trees, and very old balete trees..
It's like an ancestral house built from Spanish era! Thank you for taking us there and showed us the artistry and craftsmanship of Filipinos.
It's a different vibe when a showroom for furniture is a real house. Converting houses into showrooms make choosing furniture really easy because you know how it will look and feel in a room
Kapanpangan is very delicate to their craft, buy there furniture for your condo, the best
I love how this project is so engaging between the buyer and the seller. The collaboration is amazing.
Good decision to go local. You can customize and see how your furnitures are made in quality. I love it. Betis craftsmanship at its best.
What a great idea by the owner of this property to convert it into a show room/resto. The retro exterior will be very cozy when finished with their top quality furniture.👌 😀 🇵🇭
Nice backyard. Love it! Reminds me of living in the province but in the past or like a setting in old Philippine horror movies hahaha.
Very nice cool nostalgic place in Pasay City, Metro Manila. Wow, wish I could go here as balikbayan.
Wonderful choices of 🪑 furnitures , elegant and functional 😀
Wow solihiya.. we got those patterns.. i miss our old house with those old furnitures.. miss also my gradparents.
beautiful pieces! I can see them in crate and barrel catalog as well as showrooms in Soho in NYC.
Wow, all the furniture are classic and so pretty. Love those Rattan materials.
Philippine local made products are really nice... I feel like almost 90% Filipinos had a rattan chair on their house 😅 I love all the furnitures that were featured here... I live in Pasay but didn't know this shop... Thanks for showing this to us
Mike and Nelly Kapampangan are really well-known carpenters in the Philippines, not just they are good cooks.
I agree, Pampangueños are good furniture maker
Especially from Betis

I used to live in Pampanga during my elementary years and everytime we passed by Betis (one of the town), i loved seeing how they made and displayed these furnitures in front of their shops. Such beautiful craftmanship!
What a pretty, relaxing place...and such a serene House that is.
What a nice place! Wish I was there. All the furnitures looks great!
The house reminds me of the ancestral houses in Iloilo, Bacolod, and Silay City.
