  • Filipino Wooden Furniture Prices
We have a look at some rustic style furniture from Country Treasures in Balamban Market and check out the prices. It is very solid and heavy designed to last for generations.

Magkono might be the strongest wood since they said that it takes 4 or 3 days to cut down a matured tree. While molave is a very smooth, strong, heavy, durable and resistant to rot, termites etc. I have a friend who own many molave furniture after 20 years the color change pale yellow/brown to rich red brown which is unique. but pure molave furniture is rare to get these days. And nara is like an antique wood since its red to dark red when its aged but NOT as strong as molave and magkono.

I’ve seen some places in southern Leyte in the mountains with incredible wood furniture. One of the things I love. When I come back I will see what I can buy that’s unique. As long as I don’t take the wife. I will come back with a few peso left in my pocket. Otherwise I’ll be poor

When you call it "hardwood" most Americans won't understand how hard it is. I guarantee (because I've done it) you will burn out circular saw blades and drill bits SO fast. The reason the guy is selling simple designs is that the only way to economically use that wood is with bigger industrial saws. Trying to cut intricate designs or turn legs/spindles...if you didn't quit would take so long you'd go broke. Slabs, planks, square legs...thats how to work with real and seasoned hardwoods. If its really intricately carved maybe its not the real wood they say it is. By the way, that Acacia wood table is worth at least 3-4k USD most places around the world. Its a very difficult wood to get pieces the size of furniture, usually its just bowls and smaller stuff.

Ang ganda ng mga gawa. Ako ang ginagamit kong pandikit pag gumagawa ako ng mga furniture ay yung Pioneer Wood Glue matibay din siya at water resistant na din.

Iron wood that I've seen around the Pacific was from the Casaurina Pine, also called the Australian pine. Super hard wood and the trees grow very tall. Funny enough because they have roots that typically run shallow, for their size they knock over in the wind very easy. The wood is also good for making posts that stand in water.
