  • This short video shows the MGA powered by an MGB engine that has quite a bit of improvements. Bored to just under 1950cc, the Compression has been raised over 9:1, large valves, quite high spring pressure to handle closing the valves quick on a roller camshaft that has duration so wide that you might think the valves are open more than closed, cylinder head work ported out as large as one could possibly go, HS6 carburettors to match along with an intake and exhaust system that should let this engine flow. Compared to the standard B series engine, this breaths quite well.
Connected to an aluminium flywheel, a T9 five-speed going through an MGB banjo axle 3.909:1 differential gear set and stopped by MGB brakes all the way round. This car should be very exciting to run.

Neat, another MN MG guy! I'm up in Duluth with a stock 1600 Roadster. Planning to sell my motorcycle and tear into it next winter. Crossflow head and dual DCOE port injection throttle bodies. Not sure what direction I want to go ECM wise but it should make for a cool car. I'll be using an 1800cc as my base. How extreme can you go with these and keep it streetable? 4 throttle bodies should wake it way up from what it is now I am thinking. Think 160hp is possible out of one N/A?
