Holiday Slow-Down Tips: (begin around 30 minutes or so of the video)
1. Complete a Time Inventory to know why your holiday seasons my feel so busy or overwhelming
-you need to start where you’re at!
-you may need to make a few changes or a lot of changes based on building your awareness as to why the holidays feel the way they do for you.
2. Evaluate Your Responsibilities/Commitments
-make a list
-ask the questions: Is this really a responsibility I have? Or… Do I really need to keep this commitment
*remember we only have 24 hours in a day
3. Values
-what matters to me this holiday season?
-what is most important to me this holiday season?
-prioritize based on your values
4. Miracle Question Approach
-what does my ideal holiday season look like?
-take your ideal and apply it to real life
5. Boundaries
- “No” is a full sentence
-give yourself permission to say no
-graciously decline invitations
-don’t over commit yourself
-schedule in margin time
-protect your joy
Complete Mindful Check-Ins Daily over the Holidays
“What do I need today?”
Applying to Making:
-Less is More: commit to 1 big project a month, 2 smaller projects. Everything is a bonus
-Say no to test knits of the deadlines don’t work for your schedule
Practice Self-Compassion Daily!

I love this vlog and how you combine mental health with making. Thank you!! When you said the reason you have to explain yourself is to self soothe your anxiety it really resonated for me.
Beautiful. Glad I found your channel. Thank you.
So good!!! LOVED the slow down tips.
❤awesome job!!!!
I loved the simple but not aways easy analogy and explanation. I'm going to use that with my team at work!
So glad you found that helpful! It’s a good one ❤
I love your video! I am very good at saying no around the holidays, but I always had a nagging feeling of guilt. I'm feeling a sense of freedom after listening to you. Looking forward to the fireside knitting pics.
I am so happy to hear this. What a liberating feeling to let go of the guilt when you say no! ❤❤❤ keep it up!
Such good ways to prep for the holidays mentally. I’m going to work on implementing several of the tips - I believe it will help me be ready for the new year too. 💙
Thank you so much for this kind feedback… and I am so thrilled you found value in what I shared. ❤
