I have zero racket sport background, and struggled with my forehand for so so so long, I watched so many pickleball forehand videos and perfected my swing and knew all the steps to take and all of that, and still could not hit the ball well, something was not working and I was getting so frustrated. It took me watching a tennis forehand video out of desperation, and one of the very first things they mentioned was weight transfer--and I was like wtf, literally no other PB video I watched mentioned this, I guess they just assumed people would know to transfer the weight through the swing, but it is not something people just know to do. Once I incorporated the weight transfer everything clicked into place and I was able to actually drive the ball. So I appreciate that you actually talk about weight transfer rather than just where to place the feet. Literally no one else talks about that, when it seems sooo important. There are so many other things you mention that I've never heard--placing the back foot behind the ball, timing the steps to the bounce, really planting the back foot, etc. These are all sooo helpful as I can drive well when I drop a ball but have not been able to figure out the footwork in a game because I can't time or place it correctly. The detail of the breakdown is really transformative for me, you were not lying. I think I've watched every other forehand pickleball tutorial and this is by far the most comprehensive. Thank you
Thanks! My hubby (long time tennis player and my pickleball partner) has been trying to explain this to me. Thanks for the visuals! Will definitely be watching this over and over again AND utilizing your tips on the court!
Your tips are among the best online. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much Barry! Appreciate the support!
Thank you so much for this! I was going to ask you to do a video on footwork because I really am struggling with this. Great video.
Glad we could help!
