Personal experience tells me the pickup selector is a replacement, that said the factory had a habit of using absolutely anything they had in stock parts-wise, so it could be original. Bodies could be made out of basswood or ply, depending on what they had as I say
I didn't know about the selector switch I'll have to do a little research to see if mine is original. I'm still surprised it feels so good after all these years
@@89schofe phase 4’s do in fact have a white tip (turns cream during thru the years). That switch selector looks stock to me, these parts all pretty much came from the Matsumoku factory in Japan.
@@dhilan9946yea that was one of the guitars that he used at receptacle recording in 89 also I think if you get a Behringer Superfuzz you can get the tone of fecal matter Kurt’s 1st band before Nirvana that was the guitar he played back then
ive had one of these sitting in my closet that one of my friends gave me when i was like 13 that hasnt had strings on it in years and needs a few little repairs like a coulple new tuners and maybe a pickup. i never knew what i had i thought it was a cheap guitar the whole time.
By buddy Tim bought a Hi-Flier in '76 & never played it. I bought it from him in '78 for $100 when he needed rent money & I've had it ever since. I re-engineered the Trem so I can now do a deep dive or pull up a whole note, let go & it stays in tune. The moron at Mastery Bridge said it couldn't be done, and he had actually sawed one in half trying. I also swapped out the 3-on-a-plate tuners for 18:1 Grovers & junked the cheap, scratchy old pots in favor of Bourns "Blue" pots & Switchcraft switch & socket. The original Humbuckers stayed. I also have a Strat & a Les Paul. The Uni is my favorite solid body by far.
The hi flyer was $70.00 + tax in '75 at my local store 😉 my current phase 3 I pulled from a trash can in 03 all original and complete 'cept for missing vibrato arm, bridge was scrap.
Try a Hallmark if you get a chance. They’remthe closest to actual Mosrites. Mosrite pickups are not P90’s. They are insanely hot single coils of their own design.
Nice video!
I love the Univox guitars! 🤘🏻🎶😎🎸
Wow
Hi fliers are THE COOLEST guitar. I have one myself, it’s so sick. Every time I bring it to a show people always talk about it.
Love the profile picture. Nostalgic lol

I always wanted one.

Can you post the like to where you bought the tremolo arm?
It's the same as one for a Strat or Squire (10-32 thread) I believe.
Just open the damn box.
Lucky
I gotta ask do you like bleach
I'm a huge fan of bleach. The pickups on the Hi-Flier sound just like that album it's honestly surreal sometimes.
He recorded most of Incesticide

Mosrite is way better
Mosrite are SUPER expensive.
7 minutes to open the box, too long, just open it and stop waffling, it's not interesting content. What a boring video.
What's the point of being a jersey to this very nice guy? Screw off hater. Change your stupid attitude
