- Reset admin password, become administrator & get admin privileges, tutorial shows you how to bypass password or reset password on computer if you forgot admin password, also how to become administrator if you are member of standard user group you have low rights so you cannot do following: cannot install any software without administrator password, You cannot run group policy and make changes in the registry editor, cannot edit hosts file without admin password, it asks you administrator permission and admin password. You cannot activate a built-in administrator account, if you try to enable built-in administrator account, an error appears: access is denied. Cannot add the user to the administrator group, error: access denied. Without administrator password you getting errors as access denied, this app has been blocked by your system, contact your system administrator for more info, you do not have permission to perform this operation access denied, and there are many other restrictions.
If you are limited user with low permissions on your own computer because you forgot admin password. Therefore, you need to reset administrator password, become administrator, and gain administrator rights in order to take full control of your computer. What is SAM file?
The Security Accounts Manager (SAM) is a database file used by all versions of Windows, (Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, etc.) that manages user accounts and stores user passwords. The SAM file cannot be edited, moved, or copied while Windows is running. Don’t try to edit SAM file or delete it otherwise windows won't boot normally.
Path to SAM file: C:\Windows\System32\config\SAM

🦿1. Introduction Windows user accounts and their privileges and rights
🦿2. Bypass/reset admin password
🦿3. Add a user to the administrator group and get administrator privileges without admin password
🦿4. Enable built-in administrator account
🦿5. Roll everything (all config) back as it was
So, to become an administrator and get all admin privileges, we need to make changes in SAM file. For that, we need to create a bootable USB flash drive.
1. you need computer or laptop with full admin rights.
2. USB flash drive of at least 8 gigabits.
3. Two software: Kali Linux, and Linux Live USB Creator

If you get a boot error:

✔Add a user to the administrator group and get administrator privileges, Kali Linux commands
✔ Enable built-in administrator account
Navigate to SAM file folder, right-click on blank space in the folder and choose Open Terminal Here
In Linux Terminal type ↪ sudo su ↩
this runs the commands with root privileges
then type ↪ chntpw -i SAM ↩
this runs SAM password recovery tool with Interactive Menu
From Interactive Menu options choose options
1 - Edit user data and passwords, so type ↪ 1 ↩ and hit enter
It lists all Windows users from SAM file, choose a user which you going to edit and type User number (RID)
Example Administrator RID number is 01f4, so type it in terminal and hit enter
It displays you User (Admin) info and User edit Menu, from User edit Menu choose option you want examples: reset password, add a user to the administrator group or Enable built-in administrator account
Option 1 - Clear (blank) user password, so type ↪ 1 ↩ and hit enter
Option 3 - Promote user, make user an administrator, so type ↪ 3 ↩ and hit enter
Option 2 - unlock and enable user account, so type ↪ 2 ↩ and hit enter
After each command you should go back by entering ↪ q ↩ (Quit editing user, back to user select. or it may ask you to do it? You should type ↪ y ↩ (yes)
🌶very important when you finish editing the SAM file, don't forget to save it
Form SAM password recovery tool Interactive Menu
After you make all changes type ↪ q ↩ to go back to SAM password recovery tool Interactive Menu and type ↪ q ↩ (Quit, You will be asked if there is anything to save)
Then type ↪ y ↩ (yes), and hit enter to save your changes and then type exit and again exit to close the terminal.

I have a USB port on my computer and no USB port but I am buying a dual USB drive. Meaning it has a USB and USB c so if I get the stuff put into the USB will it still work if I plug it in through USB c
This may be the most complex process I have ever watched. I think it is beyond me to complete it accurately. Unfortunately I don't know of any other way to retrieve the Admin password and I need it because I am stuck without it. Thank you nonetheless!

@@coolsomeash There's a tool I have used many times in the past that blanks out the password of any windows user in one click without all of these steps. I fix computers on and off and it's not uncommon for someone to bring in a computer they haven't used in awhile and don't know the pw. You cant fix anything if you cant log into windows and even if you intend to factory reset anyway, at least you'll save their important files. I believe Hirens boot cd has the tool and instead of Linux you boot into Minixp right from the USB. So it's much more familiar to use if you never used Linux. Look it up, you can definitely get your computer back!

You seem like a homie so maybe you can help me out so basically I got to the point in the video where you have to go to the windows and I have an Acer so I open my Acer folder and I click on Windows and it says failed to open directory windows and then if I go to properties it says there's like twenty thousand items in there, so how do I fix failed to open directory in quotations windows. It's also to be noted that I have two folders in here one says windows and then the other says Windows. Old and in Windows. Old it's only 4.0 kib whereas Windows is 20.0 kib. There is also no system32 in Windows.old that I found yet

You can use an android device to create bootable usb drives just search in google playstore and by the way you need an adapter
use a diff computer
Or just mount the iso file, formatt the usb to be a FAT32, and copy all the files of the mounted iso into the USB and it should work, cuz i did it like that

Will this work, even if your drive with all the System32 files and SAM file is encrypted with BitLocker?
The terminal thing wouldnt work for me when i did the sam thing it kept saying that the file was read only and it wouldnt work
When booting into the linux usb the windows hard drive is not showing up, and when doing fdisk -l it is not listed either. It looks like the fast-startup option in power management is responsible.
Is there any solution to this? Given its the default setting now and cannot be changed without admin permissions it seems like a problem.
Never mind, I found the problem. By turning on legacy boot and putting usb to the top of the boot order, kali could see the hard drive. I did it this way a few years ago and forgot to do that step this time. After entering kali this way I can tamper with system32 to my heart's content.

Can I do this whole process successfully on my Windows 7 pc than Windows 10? As that's all I have.

Hi, try cleanly shutting down Windows from the login screen: Press and hold down SHIFT while clicking Shut Down from the Windows login screen. Then start and try to boot Linux permission should be ok
When i try to open the windows folder from the kali forensic, i get this message 'Failed to open directory "Windows". I have a similar problem, bit locker was automatically enabled when I get the computer and I only have Standard user privileges. So far, you can't access the C: drive without the recovery key

Hi, I just checked the Linux Live USB Creator link it works, please try to download it with another web browser, and the answer to your question is yes, you can use RUFUS, but try the same options as shown in the video

If you like to know which group belongs your User (your user name):
Open cmd as an admin by right click and enter the following commands:
net localgroup
then from the list copy which group, you interesting in and enter in cmd, example:
net localgroup Administrators
so this command lists all admins
or enter:
net localgroup Guests
his command lists all Guests
method 2:
In Windows search box or in cmd up to you type:
lusrmgr.msc
then select the Users folder, this lists all of your users if the arrow down that user is disabled.
then right-click on user to find in which groups it belongs and select "properties", then click the "Member of" tab and you will see group member.
If you want to add more permissions to the user, just click "Add" then "Advanced" and "Find now" you will get all available group lists so choose which you want to add and double click on it, then click OK,
you will see it appears under "Member Of" tab.
IF you don't have permissions to do all this just follow my tutorial step by step and get all admin privileges easily.

Ok, first of all, try to go to BIOS and enable Legacy support, then try to boot again, if you get the same black screen, format your USB drive and create a bootable Linux live again any help I'm glad to assist

Fraternal twin sister's computer gave me a drivers malfunction error and stated to restart computer to do the repairs. Now her computer is stuck in a diagnostic repair loop b/c it couldn't fix the drivers. I can't get to anything without needing her password. @@mmktut I think my twin would literally kill me if I opened up her tower. I think the reason her computer isn't recognizing her password is because of a key scrambling program I put on there. That might be the reason but I don't know. The password briefly pops up when you hit the 'show password' icon.
