That looks, sounds and pulls like a trojan ! Hope you had no problems with the chains on this model.Or if you did looking forward to remedy on further uploads.😎 All the best mate ,best model railway reviewer by far !👍
Thanks Peter. Actually the chain on the front right (away from the camera) came off the body. I succeeded in tucking it into some of the detail on the side of the bogie so that it is secure. You might just notice it on some of the shots that show this side of the loco. Accurascale are going to send me a replacement as the end of it is damaged. I've recorded the exact same run with the Bachmann Nimbus and running wise it's pretty close. Sound isn't so good though.
I have the non DCC version. It was the only one I could get my hands on. Anyone share how the heck you get the DCC dummy plate out without bending the pins?!!! Problems. 1/ it disappears under the roof space making it hard to wiggle back/forth off the motherboard. 2/ the motherboard is loose and wiggles itself. Nightmare. Anyone have any solutions? thanks!
Sound and detail is great which cannot be said of those horrible chains ! I have the BR Blue "Argyle and Sutherland Highlander" and it's appearance is gorgeous. However one of those four chains were loose and I had NO other option but use super glue to re-attach it. Thank Christ NO glue mark on the body but a bit on the bogie frame unfortunately which dried up as an unwanted glossy spot. I can live with that but not all four of them !! An iron guard on the front of the bogie frame is also broken off but Accurascale will send me 3 of them so I can glue it on (I hope !). Beautiful but OVER-detailed and hence way too vulnerable. Will not remove the body EVER !!!
Hi Jan, Thanks for you comments. The bogie chains have been a painful experience unfortunately and I don't believe we'll ever see them implemented in this way again. I've received some crew but haven't picked up the courage to install them yet!
@@EuviRail Thanks Euvirail and I am glad you agree 100% ! NOT every buyer is a well-skilled traindoctor and I doubt if even a traindoctor would have the right answer for this dreadful design of the chains. I find the issue that serious that I would never buy an Accurascale Deltic again and fortunately I don't have ordered one of their Class 37's (I would have cancelled the order otherwise). Bachmann seems to have a 37 also with those chains but much more clever designed. Accurascale deserves a spot in Guinness Book of Records for User UN-friendliness ! Nevertheless I will keep this Deltic because it is beautiful to watch and to listen. Hopefully I can attach that iron guard when it arrives. Best of luck installing your crew however I would keep that crew for a loco without chains (No kiddin') !! Cheers, Jan, Australia
@@grootsan Thanks Jan. I won't say that thought on the crew has already crossed my mind! I have two Accurascale Class 37s on pre-order so we'll see how they turn out. The bogies chains there will be fitted to the upper body apparently and not the actual bogies so we shall see....
@@EuviRail NOW THAT ....... would make all the difference Euvirail ! It also proves that Accurascale would have listened what's going on with those chains ! Bachmann seems to have done something similar with their chains and leaving them on the bogies seemingly attached to the body.
Wow what a beast. Great Vid Tim
