Excellent idea! our restore took trim but the marketplace would be the next best thing. Really long pieces would be easy to rehome and for the price of removing the rest of the caulk someone else could save a fortune! Redoing our family room/kitchen we need some trim pieces but the style is no longer available so we are having to buy all new for it. Reusing someone else's would be a big help for the purse since the sheeting we are putting down over the old floor is $30 a sheet for 4 x 8 x 1/4" and then a palate of flooring or 50 boxes for the 760sq foot we need.
With the prices of lumber, I would not dump one piece of wood you take out of your new home, until you decide on how you are updating the whole home. My heart is just so full watching you go through this process. I'm incredibly grateful you have the energy to bring us along, as someone who just moved into their first house a year ago I couldn't imagine trying to document the chaos along the way. I can definitely see what you were saying in the earlier video, it's almost like your first two homes have prepared you for this journey, but also your experiences documenting your garden is probably making these videos that much less daunting. What an incredible way to remember these first days in your new home!

What an exciting time for you guys. Thank Josh for being on. We hear his voice sometimes but very seldom do we ever get to see The elusive Josh. Enjoy yourselves, be well, stay safe, love from Texas.
I actually GASPED out loud when you slipped on the curtain. Good save by the way! Hubby and I are going through a kitchen and bath remodel. It's SOOO FUN picking out new hardware and such. Oh and, HI JOSH!
Ah ...that depends on where in the world you are from. Most Americans say Cauk, whereas British and some parts of Canada say Caulk- just as Becky says it. There is more than one way to say a lot of words. Hope this helps.
Becky, we don't know one another personally, but I couldn't be happier for you and Josh! Calling it your forever home is just so sweet. It's so much fun to see a notice from you! :)
You’re an amazing young woman. It’s so easy to buy fast food when working on the house. Taking the time to make a homemade meal for you and your husband. Happy to see Josh in the videos too. I’m surprised that you you’re putting carpet in since you have allergies
This is Incredibly satisfying, to see a happy, hardworking couple realize their dream while they’re still so young and have their whole lives ahead of them. I’m glad you and Josh are not disappointed about the length of time it would take to get kitchen cabinets. JMO, but I think it’ll be good to live with that kitchen for a while, because maybe you’ll change your mind on how you want the remodel to go, once you’re in there buzzing around and using it every day. Thanks so much for that trip to, and backstory of, Winks.
I’m so excited for you guys in making this into your forever home!! Can’t wait to see what you do along the way. PS, I like that you’re sneaking Josh in the videos more and he’s ok with being in them a little bit. It’s nice to see you guys working together.
You have the most beautiful eyes and your husband is so dang cute. More importantly, you are such a giving and sweet person and he is incredibly respectful wanting to please you. What a wonderful future you'll have in this forever home!
Good work you two. One thing about the curtains. When we moved into our house years ago there were some wall to wall curtains in the living room and dining room which were not my favorite. However when we changed them to blinds a number of years later I realized what a difference they had made in keeping the house warmer (they were super thick.) I don't know how thick your curtains were but sometimes when you don't know how a house operates, you might want to keep them for a bit and see how much heat they could help keep in in the winter or out in the summer. Just a thought I had.
I'm so excited you're taking us all along this journey with you and Josh as you guys grow into your new homestead! You're so sweet and have really inspired me to tap into my homestead side!!
New subscriber here...your first video to pop up as a suggestion for me was your empty home tour. Being an Interior Designer, it sparked my interest and enjoyment to go back and watch from that point forward. It is an added bonus that you are a cooking/meal prep enthusiast. I feel complete excitement for you as I feel how much you are realizing your blessings and dreams. I sensed just a little that Josh is camera shy, so I just wanted to say the ending with him joining you was very sweet...it's obvious he does it out of love for you Becky. I look forward to seeing all of your content and the halesome nature of your delivery. Wishing you Gods blessings always. 😊
I love seeing you and Josh together! I would repurpose the cabinets (when you get around to that project) and use them somewhere else in the house like perhaps the garage or the basement.
Josh's crazy whistling was seriously impressive! I agree with everyone's comments about having Josh in more videos. Totally respect his decision to be or not be on camera. It just makes his guest appearances more special. Love you both!
Everyone keeps mentioning Josh helping with the curtains, the Jinx at the end, and the reaction to your almost-fall. Which were all very sweet no doubt! But for me the best Josh-moment was how he just felt he 'didn't want to correct' you about the blinds-mishap. Whether he thought you miss-spoke, or even wanted to actually take the blinds off, he was completely mellow about it - despite mentioning he was not thrilled about the idea of having the blinds taken down. You're both just there working together, not stressing little things and respecting each other's ideas and/or thought process. It's really nice to see! :) Congrats on the beautiful property
My favorite advice to give anyone that is choosing new carpet- Get something that looks like dirt and lint! 🤣 Not too light, not too dark. I know that excitement of preparing your forever home. I actually slept on the floor instead of going back to the apartment we were in temporarily because I was so happy. Thanks for sharing
You and Josh are such a power couple and seem to have a rare connection. It's wonderful that you're enjoying the process of making the house truly your home. Thank you for taking us along!
For those worried about needing curtains due to strong light. That's rarely an issue here and custom houses (like this one is) are sited to use the light well. If you go back and watch the initial vid about the house, not the trees placement. What you need curtains for is the cool nights from Nov through June.
I love ur new home. My daughter went to Europe for 2 weeks and I made over her whole bedroom. The first day I took her curtains and blinds down. Her blinds were so dusty and I inhaled dust into my lungs. I had to go on a steroid and a inhaler. I still cough a lot in the morning. So if there’s a dusty job, please wear a mask. 🥰
Love coming along on this journey with you guys! And it's awesome that Josh seems to be getting less camera shy. Absolutely loved the "Bye guys! Jinx!" You guys are adorable!!
Why are ya'll sooo darn cute!!! I literally started smiling at my phone at the end of the video. Bless you both in your union and in your new home. You and Josh would make beautiful children ( no pressure)

So much fun watching Becky and Josh working in their new home. The patience the two of you have is inspirational. I knew you meant curtains, Becky, not blinds!! Watch those nails with no shoes on!! Looking forward to the next video.
I enjoy seeing your house renovations, gardening, and cooking. Thank for sharing, also thank Josh for getting over his camera shyness. He completes your videos because I enjoy happiness in this crazy world around us.
Becky, I went through this whole adventure recently and I have to tell you that IKEA is a great way to go in the kitchen. I don't know if you've gone to look but their quality is pretty good, the prices are great and the timeline is amazing. The best part is you can go in and redesign the whole space without having to work off the current configuration if you don' like the functionality of the current kitchen. Another bonus is that you save so much on the cabinets you can splurge on the countertops. Again, I got IKEA and my friend went with custom. Hers took 4 months and cost 4 times what mine cost and at the end of it all my kitchen was nicer and better quality than hers. She had finish problems within a year. I highly recommend looking into IKEA for kitchen, bathroom and storage cabinets.
Another great day for Becky and Josh. You two are so motivated and you get so much done! I hope you enjoyed your first forever home supper ! Thanks for sharing it with us !
Put screws in before you replace any flooring! It will help prevent squeaks in the future. We have done this in every house we have owned. Excited to follow along as you update things and turn it into home 💚-Cara
Cant wait to see all the improvements and changes you make. I'm a do it yourself person so love watching someone else do it!! One thing you might try before getting an expensive electrician. When repainted all of my rooms I didn't like the color of the plates, switches, etc. Didn't have the money to buy new, so I ended painting them the same color as the walls. (the screws too!!) I took them off, painted the wall, them put them back on and painted them. Easier than trying to lay them on a flat surface!! It worked beautifully. I used regular latex paint. In my dining room I painted it med green and it's been 3 years. Even the light switches that we use almost daily still have the paint on them with no chipping. I've even cleaned some of them and it still stayed on. It gets a little tricky on the plugs but i just used a light roller over them then touched them up with a small soft artist brush close to the holes. Now I've done this in every room and it really hides the plugs especially the ones out in the open!! Makes them look custom. Another thing I do is when I'm done with a color, I fill a small canning jar!! with some of the paint, mark the room and keep it where it is handy. This way if you have to touch up something later on you dont have to go dig the can out!!
For the chickens get a good electric fence charger and run a line around the bottom of the coop and run. I ran one about 8 inches from the ground and this has completely stopped the predators from getting my chickens. I was loosing them a couple a week and this stopped it. It also protected them from my neighbors dogs.
So happy for you. It's a beautiful property. I'm exhausted just watching you do all the work. Josh is adorable and its great to see you both. Do you give away the food you grow and prep? You two can't POSSIBLY eat everything you cook because other than canning, your frozen food would be freezer burnt or you'd be as big as your new house! Good luck to you in your beautiful home.
"BYE, GUYS!" in perfect sync! How we love you both! You are the most beautiful couple and, Becky, we cannot get enough of you and your life. Thank you so much for your channel and sharing all that you do!
I don’t have any curtains in my house. Love the beautiful trim and the rooms seem bigger without them. Blinds, we do have. How fun for you two! Thanks for sharing!

I was wondering "why is she removing the blinds?" LOL! Your idea of painting before moving in is excellent. I wanted to do that before our last move, but I only had 1 day to paint the whole house. Needless to say, I didn't finish. It's a lot harder to paint after moving. I love your new home. It's gorgeous, especially the yard. Love it!

This isn't the correct video to be responding to concerning your oven temp, but Just a note, foil you have placed in the bottom of your top oven is preventing the temperature to reach its optimal heat level.

I am really looking forward to new episodes - your work ethic is incredible, and I am sure that the transformation of the property will be amazing to watch !! I live in Scotland, and at 81 years of age, can only envy your good fortune in finding such a beautiful place for your forever home. Best Regards, Alexander.
You two are so flipping cute! When you slipped ( which is something I do on the daily) the concern from him, made me smile. I'm so happy for you guys!!!!
I'm loving these vlogs Becky. Home reno is something I really enjoy as well. There's an ongoing and tedious process to parts of it like you mentioned, but there's something to be said for working along side your soulmate and having a satisfied tiredness at the end of each day's work. Those wonderful windows look great without the curtains! Personally, I'm not a fan of curtains because of the dust collecting factor anyway. If you do replace the blinds some day - especially if there's a fair amount of heat loss/gain through the glass - try to find honeycomb blinds. They're a double layer of fabric that, when drawn down, trap air between the layers and so provide insulation. They're called honeycomb because that's what the profile looks like from the end when they're drawn down. Clear as mud??
Note: one reason my mom said she had the curtains made for the house was that it was insolation for the windows during harsh Winters. She had them lined. She closed them when we were going to be gone to protect the house's temperature, but I think she liked that folks couldn't see in on the ground floor when we were going to be away.
I wish my husband and I would’ve had a chance to experience something like this before we started our family. 😅 we are planning on building a home soon but having little ones certainly makes it more complicated! I love love love watching other people do home projects and I’m so excited to see how this turns out!
It is so much fun experiencing your journey into your forever home. I am strangely excited for the both of you, and I find myself smiling as I watch your videos. I cannot wait to see how everything comes together, and how you make this gorgeous place your own. It sounds like you have a wonderful idea in place for how you want it to look and feel! The “L” is silent in caulk. You guys are such hard workers and it’s a beautiful home! Can’t wait to see more cooking in new kitchen!
Ah ...that depends on where in the world you are from. Most Americans say Cauk, whereas British and some parts of Canada say Caulk- just as Becky says it. There is more than one way to say a lot of words. Hope this helps.
This is the maritime PNW accent. Yes we do have an accent here. You will find a lot of Canadian spelling here too.
I was just about to say the same thing. I have never heard anyone pronounce it with the L.
Becky, we don't know one another personally, but I couldn't be happier for you and Josh! Calling it your forever home is just so sweet. It's so much fun to see a notice from you! :)
One bit of advice. Start bringing a few boxes from old home to new once you have a room or two completed.
Jinx!! You two are SUPER CUTE!! I'm loving watching you create your "Forever House" into your "Truly Forever Home"!!
You’re an amazing young woman. It’s so easy to buy fast food when working on the house. Taking the time to make a homemade meal for you and your husband. Happy to see Josh in the videos too. I’m surprised that you you’re putting carpet in since you have allergies
Josh whistling in the background was so beautiful, you both sound so happy! Congratulations 🎉
Oh my gosh! The way y’all interact and banter is just way too cute. So excited for you two🤗
Kudos to your husband....not being a jerk about the blinds and curtains thing. So proud of you two and making things happen together.
So nice to see more of Josh and his true charming personality emerging on camera.
I also think it’s wise to save them until you’ve lived there a while. They are custom fit to the windows and would be very expensive to replace.
Love how you left the part in where you slipped on the curtain...shows you have a sense of humor and humility about yourself!
Once we had handles on a front door, the cat loved it, he could always get in . Once he even opened the door for me.
In the sunroom area. Put white sheer curtains. That will make the room feel more welcome and elegant!
Too funny! I bought a new area rug 6 years ago to match my 2 dogs! :D
Adorable, wholesome and heartwarming. 😊
Excited for all the updating house videos. Remodeling is a lot of work but so worth it. So happy for you & Josh.
I love seeing Josh! Such a supportive husband and partner!
You and Josh are so sweet together he should come on camera with you more often it’s lovely to see you working together x
How can you post so often?! It's like binging Netflix! Love you!
I love your channel before, but now…. Almost all my TH-cam subscriptions are either cooking/gardening OR home reno/decorating. You are all I need now!! (I just finished a long hard month where I alone did about 1/3 of our house! Everything I know I learned from TH-cam!)
This is so fun to watch! Thank you for bringing us along on your renovation adventure. And congratulations on hitting 300000 subscribers! Can’t wait to see you get to 1 million…
So much fun watching Becky and Josh working in their new home. The patience the two of you have is inspirational. I knew you meant curtains, Becky, not blinds!! Watch those nails with no shoes on!! Looking forward to the next video.
The "Bye guys....jinx!" at the end was absolutely ADORABLE haha! So excited to see how your new home turns out, Becky ☺
So nice of you to donate items. A lot of people would love to have those items you aren’t going to use. Love the new home.
AWWW. That was such a sweet tender moment at the end. I love that you cooked your first meal. You and Josh are, as the kids say, ADORBS.
I LOVE this house. & I’m very much looking forward to renovation videos. Congratulations on the new place. It’s beautiful.
For the chickens get a good electric fence charger and run a line around the bottom of the coop and run. I ran one about 8 inches from the ground and this has completely stopped the predators from getting my chickens. I was loosing them a couple a week and this stopped it. It also protected them from my neighbors dogs.
Oh, good tip! :D
I’m really enjoying seeing you guys make this your forever home!
So nice to see Josh in all the recent videos! So happy for your forever home!
I love how excited you get over picking out the right colors, fixtures, etc.. so eager to continue to watch you fix your new home 🏡 🙂
I love the creaking of the hardwood floors. You look tired, but so happy.
The house is going to be even more beautiful than it already it when you are done. It is so nice to see Josh on these videos.
Fabulous to see you both so happy..great to see Josh too stay safe well and happy
OMG!!! I’m sooooo happy and excited for you guys! I’m flipping cartwheels for you! 🤸🏼♀️🤸🏼♀️🤸🏼♀️😁😁😁 Enjoy the time you have, building and making your forever home together❤️ Even though you have a LOT ahead of you, it all looks great so far! Exciting times for sure! PS… I love that Josh is getting more comfortable in front of the camera! We enjoy seeing him and hearing his input. He’s also a handsome fella 😬 Congrats guys!!! 👍🏽😚
Love it!
It’s beautiful to see his in tune you are with each other. It’s great you found each other online in the same area! Wishing endless happiness in your new home.
This isn't the correct video to be responding to concerning your oven temp, but Just a note, foil you have placed in the bottom of your top oven is preventing the temperature to reach its optimal heat level.
you two are clearly so happy working together on your new home, it's a joy to watch, thanks for sharing
I finished renovating my forever home in 2020. That was great. Of course there is always another project to do 😅!
Thank you for taking us along - so much fun 💕
10/10 adorable couple. Best of luck in your new home and thanks for taking us along!
I wish you well in your new homestead! It's nice to see the rapport between you both! Loving the new footage! xxx
You can see the pure joy in both of your faces - love it!
Love that Josh is in the videos. I would keep all the trim to use for a new chicken coop
Hi Becky, it was so fun watching you and Josh work as you make a new home for the two of you. Congratulations on getting into your forever home.
I'm living vicariously through you both. We will be buying our forever home sometime in the next year. I can't wait to see all the things you do with your new home!
It's nice to see your hubby is getting less camera shy and is actually starting to participate in your videos :) he has a lovely friendly face and gentle demeanour... :)
I just loved being able to see Josh, if only for a moment! And CONGRATULATIONS on your new home!!! ❤🎊🎉
Just discovered your channel, and have watched the first three episodes on your new home. Amazing !! What a great find !! I am really looking forward to new episodes - your work ethic is incredible, and I am sure that the transformation of the property will be amazing to watch !! I live in Scotland, and at 81 years of age, can only envy your good fortune in finding such a beautiful place for your forever home. Best Regards, Alexander.
congrats on the new home. this is my favorite time - decorating. P.S. use bungee cords on the crock pot to hold it down. I did when I lost mine.
Congratulations once again on your new forever home.
