Have visited various channels on MS Loop. Most knew what they were on about, but tended to waffle and were awkward to grasp. You're the first to explain it succinctly. Have subscribed...!
Thanks for a realy good video. I think for my company, most employees struggle to use just a few apps, and they can't fully utilize them. Pushing for more apps with functionalities that are partially found in other apps is pointless. Unfortunately, there are few users who are capable of learning and adopting new apps. The challenge today for users is that the development is moving too fast, and they can't keep up.
Yes - this is a very common challenge - if new tools are better, but will likely confuse your users, what should you do? My thoughts are these things are all getting tightly integrated with each other, so people will "unknowingly" start using them at some point. But in general two principles I would suggest: - Start small - Make trying new things part of your culture for a team of champions who can help incorporate them in the day to day work of the rest of the users at your org.
I want to use Loop to do bug tracking, so when all my "boomer" co-workers who will only use email to communicate bugs chaotically start that up, then I can drop in a component like it's a ticket and tell them to refer to the "ticket"...update the ticket...check the ticket...instead of constantly reply and running through chaotic email threads. I see Loop as a way to get people out of the email channel, even when they think they are still on it.
Hi- your videos are so clear and helpful! I am wondering if there is a way to pull documents from a team site to be seen and accessed in Loop? So if I have polices/procedures etc stored in teams- can I show them in my Loop page?
Thank you! Loop won't automatically pull in things like "all docs in a team site" (as far as I know), but you can list things individually. If you open the slash command you can search there for documents for them to display as a callout on the page. You can also add documents to the sidebar alongside the pages.
Excellent video - well paced. I would like to see how Loop is used in the other apps such as Outlook? Do you create Loop components in Outlook or is it used to share components?
Thank you! You can do either! There's an option to add a Loop component in the Outlook interface, and you can also paste links to components within Outlook.
Hi @BulbDigital- thanks great quick video of what new items are available in Loop. I have a specific question. I am trying to use Loop in my dept for collab and using it for documentation - a bit like Confluence / Notion. My question is - is it possible to put an anchor or a link within the page - so you don't have to scroll up/down to find the specific part. Imagine - if at the top of your loop page- you have a table of content - with 5 entries - each somehow hyperlinked to the relevant content further below on the page. Then if anyone wants to go to read the content tied to say the 4th entry - they should be able to click on the 4th entry on the table of content - and it should allow a user to put a url link within the page to the content further below in the page that covers content related to the 4th entry. It could even be a loop component link further down the page. I am just trying to understand if that is possible using loop. Would appreciate if you could help clarify. Thanks
As far as we know this isn’t supported at the moment. We’ve had similar feedback to Microsoft in our private preview, so we’re hopeful page linking (both to other pages and to page sections) gets implemented soon!
I am just to propose the Loop for management meetings for agenda and tasks. What I miss in Loop Task option is the Note part, only title does not make it sufficient. Is there a way to add it? Thank you 🙂
If you open up the actual Planner board it's linked to you can add a description I believe. But I agree, I wish there was a little more flexibility from the Loop side!
If you aren't deep in the M365 space, definitely use Notion, it's quite a bit more mature than Loop. If you work with coworkers a lot in the M365 space, Loop will be much more integrated than trying to get your team over to Notion. Loop still has a ways to go, but has a lot of potential for that group.
Nine month later it is still a dumb clone. I can't wrap my head around the fact that a behemoth like Microsoft is not able to clone Notion's sophisticated database functions.
@@BulbDigital That's the only reason for me to even give Loop a try. Notion is way ahead of Loop, but my team works a lot with MS365 applications. Nine months later, they still haven't improved the database feature, while there are clear benchmarks like Notion.
It looks like notion? I have the M365 subscription, I’ve yet to really fully use everything I have access to! You’ve inspired me to explore more, thanks!
Please create a project team’s norms section (how we’ll work together). Would love for this to replace one note but would need to be able to have formal design pages available so we can export notes and auto email to clients. Please and thank you! So exciting!
We love the concept of taking content from an internal team's working place, tidying it up/abstracting it for delivery to clients. Hoping that comes soon! Until then we're leaning into using Loop for meeting notes/keeping them all in one place. Still a ways to go though!
I have started using loop for my meeting notes now. I have a series of meetings over the year say about 30 meetings and when I add each one to a workspace then I need to toggle between meetings. At some point it may become difficult to toggle between these meetings with separate agenda but common follow-up tasks which may need some updates during each meeting. Can I create an automatic link to follow-up tasks added to the entire series so that I don't have to go back again and toggle between meetings to view the progress. what I mean is having multiple Agenda pages containing and common link to the follow-up tasks. is it currently doable.
I can really see huge potential for Loop where I work (particularly in saving money on third-party collaboration app licences), but IT support refuse to adopt, saying it's not a standard 365 app and they don't support non-standard apps. The frustration is immense! 🤷♀
Totally agree! Microsoft needs to "finish" Loop as an application and add the enterprise features that are required by IT departments. In its current form it isn't ready for more than a pilot use case -- perhaps getting a pan of brownies to their department could open your account for a pilot? 😆

Hi - thanks for the video. Getting into loop and I cannot figure out how to create a component. I followed your instruction and don't see the option to create the component.
Love these features ... is it possible to share a loop component or workspace with an external user (for example, can I create a project workspace for my client that we can both access, even though we have different email addresses?
Thanks for sharing.... liked the way you explained. Do you know if I can get-in meeting details like Meeting date, location, Participants, Organiser, attendance reports as I can do in OneNote (there is a tab called meeting details in OneNote to insert these meeting details). can we do it in loop as well.
Thanks! As far as I know that isn't supported at the moment. They're pretty particular about what gets captured in Loop during a meeting. Emma talks about it a little bit in here video here: th-cam.com/video/dKfIk9y_yfc/w-d-xo.html
Hi. Great video. Thanks to explain about loop. Question: When you create loop pages and sub-pages, is it possible to make a sub-page a page, or make a page a sub-page. Also - if you have deleted a page or a subpage by mistake - how can you restore it? I have seen that an existing page has version and you can see all changes via history. However - how to find a page that has been deleted by mistake? Really would appreciate your help - as someone ended up deleting a page within a workspace by mistake (collaborative spaces should not have delete option at ALL, or only system admin should be able to delete a page where multiple users have authored content).
Yep, you can reorganize pages/make them sub-pages etc. As far as we can tell, there is no way to get back a deleted page. We’ve run into that as well in the past, we’re hopeful Microsoft puts some controls in place
@@BulbDigital hope @Microsoft is listening to this. Unable to restore a loop page is huge as without this IT considers this not an acceptable tool for business use.
You can take the loop link workspace url and create a web link under a Teams Channel- that way you can just click on a Teams tab And it will launch and show you the entire loop workspace... I do this all the time...
I feel like this tool is looking for a problem to solve. It doesn't beat Excel for creating a plan that is easier to visualize and more detailed. Milestone marking is not a [project] plan. At some point, after putting in all the effort in a Loop document, you still have to move it into documents where the data is more manipulatable, taggable, and enhanceable. You can choose to either share an individual page, or the entire workspace. And yes, the page is always live, so if you revert back to an old version, they will see that change. If you're strict about the data in that way, Loop probably isn't the right choice.

That sounds like a great idea, Loop is definitely approachable for those who might need to be “tricked” into using new tech 🙃
As for ideas, it would be nice to have Outlook calendar syncing within a loop page
We ❤️ a good calendar view, good idea.
I've been using loop for some time and I would love to have a collapsible section
This is a great idea - like an accordion feature?
Amazing, thanks for sharing.
Thank you! No problem.
Do you know if there is plan for loop being available for the public? I mean for regular home user and not only enterprise.
Hey, thanks. Can loop components work within LIST? Is there any way they can work together?
I don't know of any integrations at the moment between Lists and Loop, sorry!

Hi,
Loved to see this tool. These would be great for PM and write a work instructions for implementing new projects
Totally agree. We’re trying this use on a few of our projects as well.

Sorry just getting to this now, I'm not sure what's going on! Hopefully you have the option now, sounds like it is a bug.

They just announced external workspace access a while back for tenants that don't have sensitivity labels turned out, you should give it a try!
omg, the ui is eerily similar to notion
That was my initial reaction too! I'm not upset about it 😊

@@BulbDigital Thanks for sharing that.
Another thing, I would like to make different areas that might be outside of Workspaces, like dedicated areas so to speak
The only are "outside of workspaces" right now is the "ideas" space. What would you like to see?
Is it possible to "un-component" a loop component?
Not that I know of, we can add it to our request list for the Loop team! In the meantime the only real way around it is to delete/recreate.
Has anyone tried using loop for managing scrum team, specifically managing a scrum board
We just recorded a video about using Loop as a Project Manager! Stay tuned!
It should have space for drawing, in mehcanical or architecture related works it would be pretty useful
A drawing component would be nice, I agree!
Great video and great tool! I just hope MS doesn’t suddenly change direction and go focus on some new tool.

I cannot make actual Templates that I can save for any workspace...if anyone has a solution I would be grateful
I don't believe you can create custom templates at this time, the only option would be to duplicate pages which is supported.
I hope they can add this to Teams Channels!
You can take the loop link workspace url and create a web link under a Teams Channel- that way you can just click on a Teams tab And it will launch and show you the entire loop workspace... I do this all the time...
