He didn't almost end Zamasu. Before Vegito defused it showed no indication that Vegito was anywhere close to defeating Zamasu. Even his Final Kamehameha didn't seem to do anything.
And its never been the Goku and Vegeta show. When it comes to DBZ and DBS its always and probably always will be the Goku show. Pretty much every primary villain has been defeated mostly by Goku except for Cell and Frieza's second return.

Even with Gogeta, i'm afraid the result will also be the same. The reason why the fusion was so short, was because they used Super Saiyan God. Super Saiyan God took more energy than the Normal Super Saiyan. That's how Toriyama wrote it, i don't know why he created it that way.
He could've at least let Vegito have 30 minutes screen time.
@@hunggamerofficial3252 theres a certain limit on the potara rings in terms of power, if you use too much the rings will break and you'll defuse, vegito wasnt nerfed he was just to strong, while the dance has no power limit meaning gogeta was able to go all out without defusing

No Toriyama does work on the show however all he does is give a bare bone plot of how the characters need to go from point A to point B and leave the writing staff to fill in the blanks. That's why there is so much fanservice in the recent Arcs.
Actually Vegito was Toei’s idea and wasn’t even in Toriyamas manuscript so really Todiyama gave him zero minutes

I'm happy with what I got from Vegito in DBS episode 66... ya I wish I got more, but I went back and watched Gogeta vs Omega Shenron and Gogeta vs Janemba, don't get me wrong I love both fusions equally and would be happy if either or returned this past episode, but I rewatched Vegito vs Zamasu as well and I gotta say...I really am thankful for what they gave us in this episode compared to Gogeta vs Janemba or Omega... in the Omega fight a majority of the time Gogeta was beating up Omega just by standing in one place and the Janemba fight, it was few hits and Soul Punisher for a finisher (which is freakin epic)... In the Zamasu fight we actually got about a full 10 minutes of fist fighting pretty much and it wasn't super slow to watch, I had a lot of fun and it kept me engaged the whole time. I'm hoping Vegito or Gogeta comes back again in a different arc and hopefully they are able to sustain their power for the full time limit they have.

Draxsus doesn't matter. we get vegito for 9 minutes. which is crap, since the preview suggested we would have him for the majority of the episode
they advertised him like it was going to be an entire episode or more of Vegito. then they got rid of the potara fusion, making it practically unusable for the Saiyans. There were a lot of things wrong with the whole Vegito thing

They treated the Potara Fusion like the Fusion Dance? has anyone forgotten about it? Gogeta? oh wait, Gotenks is there, but the point was, Fusion Dance was a temporary fusion and Potara Fusion was a permanent but in this, they made the Potara Fusion exactly like the Fusion Dance but less embarrasing to do.

I feel you. I literally felt the exact same way. The fight scene was freakin amazing. It didn't last anywhere near long enough though. I won't lie. I was pissed when I saw them unfuse so early. I'm over it now, and I'm just watching that fight over and over again though so I can appreciate the epicness a bit more. But with the time limit, it greatly increases out chances of seeing Vegito pop back up in a future arc, so there's that to look forward to.

Fun Fact: In Toriyama's original plan, Goku and Vegeta were never going to fuse into Vegito. He was going to have Zamasu be really strong, but not strong enough to warrant Potara Fusion and Goku and Vegeta teaming up would be enough to win. It was Toyotaro's idea to make Zamasu stronger and force Goku and Vegeta into fusing into Vegito.

This stuff is part of the reason for why I've been wanting a Future Trunks spin-off for a while. Mainly so that we can see his character develop more naturally, and see how he gains new abilities over time. Then again, with so much of Earth's population dead now, and with all the Kais gone, there's not much else you can do with his character anymore.
