How do you like working with cherry Cam? I could say I'm surprised, but I now go into your videos thinking, "How the hell is he going to blow my socks off this time?" I stopped wearing socks, too much time putting them back on. Good job dude, you're amazing. AMAZING.
Wow, thanks a lot, Rob. The cherry is really nice wood; quite hard though. Tough to carve. This was a couple of pieces I had sitting around for several months. The sap wood checked, but the heart wood did not. Quality. I guess that is some of the reasons it is such a desirable wood.
Thank you, Selush. I have been making wood art full-time for a year so far. I have not been able to make a living at it yet. Things are looking up right now though. :)
Thank you, Laura. I do not remember how long it took me, sorry. Although, now that I am more experienced, I could probably recreate it with a good day's work.

Such a beautiful turtle. This might be one of the first projects I begin once I get the tools needed to begin my wood carving hobby.

Definitely all that you mentioned and that beautiful aroma. Smells like a potpourri shop. Is that turtle a keeper or are you putting it on your etsy?
This piece will not be on my Etsy shop. I plan on entering it in future juried exhibitions. I think it has a good chance of winning some awards. :D
Stunning!
Thank you, Wolfgang.
I notice you started with the Arbortech Turbo plane. The tool you needed for getting under the carapace would have been the mini Turbo.
Excellent suggestion. I hope to pick one up someday. Trying to be frugal right now though.
Hard working process.💓💓
Thanks, Saurav!
