So many of the book/journal making videos I see on youtube look great on the outside but have so few pages and the bindings look floppy - this, however, is amazing!

I agree, there are predominantly videos leaning more towards the hobby aspect of the craft which aim at promoting quick and easy structures for people to try out at home without much preparation. This is an excellent way to get into this type of work and I've watched them with great interest too when I was just starting out. The more advanced and peculiar techniques however, are mostly found in old books and only a handful of videos are floating around. I guess with most crafts, the more traditional workshops are having some trouble promoting their work with modern means. However, the old saying that one who searches, eventually finds is quite true in this case as well.
