When he shoots the two in the restaurant, and the bit leading up to it is one of if not the best scenes in any cinema I’ve ever seen. I remember watching a documentary about it and the director wanted the noise of a braking train just before the point he steps up and blows both their brains out. Pacino was so great in that scene, the fear on his face knowing what he had to do was iconic for me.
The train noise symbolizes the situation. He know the gravity of the hit and that know is the moment, but he didnt shoot them immediately. He sat down first, against Clemenzas advice.
You do not get bored or tired watching this brilliant movie again and again. Every time you see the movie you get different emotions and details. There is no doubt that this is the greatest movie ever made in the world till today because of cast,acting ,costumes ,dialogue delivery and cinematography.
After Sonny delivers the final kick sending Carlo to the gutter, I half expected a Carlo Rizzi voiceover saying, "The way I saw it, everybody takes a beating sometime".

Sonny was a hot-headed, ruthless psychopath who enjoyed violence, and this instilled great fear in the hearts and minds of his enemies. That kind of sustained fear will fester into intense hatred....it's the same stuff that motivates the violence in some of these kids being bullied today. And you always reap what you sow....Sonny had to die that way.

Don Vito died honourably playing with his grandchild, though harbours those deep regrets, he did not witness Michael become Senator , Governor or something like that.
I love how theatrical yet impactfull all of the deaths are. Its a beautiful product of its time which also servers for reinforcing the tone as a "mafia Epic"
He was an anti-hero. He resided in crime, but he sought stability and wanted his family to be legitimate and free of mafia influence. He at least died with his family.
The wages of sin is death, not just physical death but eternal separation in hell. But the gift of God is salvation through Jesus the Christ. He died as the sinless perfect sacrifice so we could be saved.
This movie set the bar for all "Mob" movies to follow. Without this movie, classics such as Casino, The Untouchables and Goodfellas would never have existed.

The eye movement by Pacino before he shoots them is a master class in acting.
